Hi Guys On a lightly modded engine i.e. 1 bar boost, exhaust, chip, would there be any advantage of having hybrid T25s over standard ones other than the longevity provided by the 360 thrust bearings (ie. do you need greater mods eg bigger intercoolers, injectors etc to take advantage of the the bigger compressor wheel/housing of the hybrids)? Hi Guys Just fitted a pair of scarab downpipes (version with the silencer in place of the cat). Before and after fitting I did a run with an AP22 performance meter and measured a 20 bhp gain. The only difference between the 2 runs was an ambient temperature of 15'C on the first run and 8'C on the second. So taking this and possible position error of the meter (ie if it was mounted slightly differently on the second run) into account, I reckon 10 bhp increase would be a realistic figure. Only trouble is my turbos have started that unhealthy habit of smoking. Oh well, fitting these pipes has just brought the inevitable a little nearer.

Hi chris in response to tvr v z, yes i have seen that cerbera many times, my z is black h plate manual tt, 17 inch wolf alloys, huge exhaust and the loudest blow off valves ive ever heard,(you will hear me before you see me) nose cone with 4 slots in and my reg ends RSX so if you see me gizza toot n ill pull in :)

Anyone any idea why my air con clicks at me occasionally? 3 clicks I think. It did it one damp morning when it was shut off making me think it was a warning saying switch me on in case your windows mist up & we all die, but it did it today whilst on & it was sunny:confused:

Has anyone had to renew the metal pipes that go to the engine oil cooler behind the bumper. Mine appear to be leaking slightly due to rust. Could I use high pressure rubber hose to replace the metal pipes ?? Any help appreciated. Thanks AndyZ

My N/A import Zed has recently developed a noise that I am certain will cost me more of the Zed tokens that the treasury calls money. The noise is related to engine revs, but sounds half speed so to speak. I had a group of mates round to try and pin point it, cos it seems to come from a different point depending where you stand or sit. Anyway the majority seem to think its coming from the front of the engine near the top and more to the right as you look at it. A new cam belt was fitted 13000 ago, new water pump 5000. I was wondering if the cambelt tensioner could have something to do with the problem. Any ideas or tips chaps? Are these parts agents only? …

I was reading the post recently about tinting the back lights & was impressed with yours, & as I'm sorting the back spoiler shortly I was gonna ask him how much to do 'em while we're at it. Any way, was wondering what ratio of clear lac to black paint he used, & owt else that might be important for that matter, don't want a nice spoiler & sh@t lights. :D

Hi I dont know if anyone can help me here but im getting a few noises from under the car. The noises are definately nothing to do with the engine. The noises are related to "road movement" (dropping off curbs, bumby roads). At first i thought it would be heat sheilds because its got an after market exhaust BUT im unsure now because when your sat in the back quite alot of viberation can be felt through the floor. It can also be felt coming through the drivers side floor plan - but this is more of a scraping noise that only occurs over bumps. The noises are very "loose" type sounds. aye still no solving this problem if i put dip lights on blue main beam light on dash board comes on and won,t go off until you switch back to side lights . the relay switch under bonnet is working you can hear it clicking away when all lights are off when you operate the flasher arm on steering column. so can anybody else shed some light on this problem .cheers cully z:confused:

how do .. after spending many months doing evrything that my Z needs i have still got 1 problem ... window wipers .. the first click they go once . again once when u turn them of, the rest of the speeds are fine. just the intermintent part. i got a switch from andyZ and the relay that goes under the bonnet, so i guess the only thing that it could be is the motor ? i have changed the stereo.. but it wasnt workin before. there is a toad alarm.... due to them not being working when i got the car i dont know at what point they stopped ! any 1 had similar prob or know how to solve ? cheers scottieee....

I've done the bit under the steering column & the glove box, how do I remove that little bit at the side of the glove box without breaking something? I know it's probably glaringly obvious, apart from to me that is, Cheers anyone.

I've heard the Hicas system is quite heavy...my question is If I get a lockout kit (which I assume locks the subframes in a fixed forward position) could I then remove the rest of the Hicas system and save on some MASS.....;) The car is to be used primarily as a dragger, so I'm not overly concerned about the handling benefits or drawbacks, but it would be nice to lose a chunk of weight I dont need.

Mines an Import and has "apparently" been converter to kmph but its really vague. When I go up the range it seems ok but coming down I can nearly be walking but my speedo says 35. It does this at other speeds to. Bit quirky? And dangerous for the licence

My Zds failed its mot with exsessive play on the rear weel bearings, only having done about 5000mls last year and no other related problems with the weel bearings. Now i have just jacked up the car to check for any play where there is a little movement in the direction of 4ws travel, but with holding top/bottom of the weel theres barely nothing. The movement travels to the rear PAS. ? Now im not to clued up on what is allowed with the 4ws ??? Any help or tips with any of this would be apreciated........ Cheers..

Got a strange problem. when driving along in first gear for instance will run fine up to 3000 revs then not budge above really. sitting with the car in neutral and rev it, it will get up to about 6 ish then start to die. Basically whenever the boost guage would go above the 0 point it won't move. Also at this point there is a hell of a noise from the front like a boost leak. I've disconnected now the recirc valves so it is off. This is where the noise was coming from but performance is still wrong. ECU says 55. If i disconnect the big pipe going to the recirc valve coming from the air inlet pipe going to the turbo from the afm (If u know which i mean) It will run bet…

What kind of fuel are you running on there in UK ? I run on 95oct and Im thinkin of running the boost a litle higher. The car is standard exept for decat and Im thinkin of going to 12-14psi. Is that safe ?

Hi everyone - happy Easter! This may be a daft question to put on here but I thought I'd ask it any way. What is it, in an exhaust system, that produces the distinctive tone? A friend of mine just changed the exhaust on his Fiat Stilo to a run-of-the-mill stainless jobbie but added Remus back boxes and now his exhaust sounds fabulous! I was wondering if the sound is in the tubing (i.e., diameter and/or bends) or the back boxes. I'd love to change the exhaust tune of my Zed to make it sound like a Ferarri 355 - IMHO the sweetest sounding car on the planet! :) Silly question but I hope one of you knows the answer. Cheers! I have R33 Brembo Calipers fitted to my Z but am looking for recommendations as to which Discs and Pads to fit as they need to be changed. Anyone with the same upgrade able to help?
