Morning all, Just a quick question to ask if the rear hatch struts (little shock absorber looking items that keep the rear hatch open) are the same part for the 2 seater and the 2+2. I need to replace mine as they have now failed and no longer keep the hatch up. AndyZ has a set from a 2+2 but I have a 2 seater and wanted to ask if anyone knew if they will fit (and work). Sorry about the outstanding technical description, but hey, there is a reason why I am a 'Junior' member, lol. Have a good day !

Take a look at the bottom of this page in the online manual :- http://www.300zx.co.uk/tech/manual/manual/ma/018.gif According to some of the references inside it specifically covers the Australian and Euopean models. It clearly states that the standard spark plug for a TT is PFR6B-11C whereas in my official, printed Nissan workshop manual, that also specifically covers the Australian and European models, it clearly states that the correct plug is PFR6B-11 ????? Can't they make their minds up ? There is clearly more than one edition. I know that mine is the February 1990 edition, but I don't know what the online version is as that page has not been scanned…

i am recovering my interior tweed (only a moron could have invented tweed) and i cant get the cubby hole thing of (the bit between the seats above the gearbox)? plus the door panels are kak how do i get to them? other than that its been pretty easy lol :S

Hi Folks, Well, my car's started to peel a bit - the plastic front air-dam (pre-99) has bits of paint coming off it which leaves a nice fleshy yellow coloured plastic showing through :( My question is: How can I cheaply and effectively re-paint it? Do I need to get a professional to do it or can I squirt it with an aerosol can from Halfords? Just took the Z for its first MOT since I got it. They couldn't find the switch for the rear fogs. As I've never taken it out in the fog I had no idea either! It's a J-spec manual '93. Anyone know? Harry

Hi Guys, As some of you are aware i crashed my Z about a month ago and still wating for the f@cking court to sort things out. It looks like it will take about 3 months before i hear anything from them. My questions are: 1. Is there any other way i can repair my Z apart from using original parts? As in fiberglass for the bonnet and bumper, a way to sort the headlights out (the glass part). 2. Is there any other car that shares the lights and or bonnet of the Z32? 3. Has anyone on here ever "made" themselves a bumper and/or bonnet, etc... and if so do you have any info on how i could do this. Basically i need to get the car on th…

After timing belts finished by Jeff at Zedworld,flew back to London having fun with a Subaru WRX,noticed that when i hit about 120 the speedo dropped off completely as if busted. When i took it back to 100 it kicked in again then going past 120 it then cut out,anyone else noticed that? Also anyone else rigged up the rear relfectors working as side lights?Thinking of doing this.........

hi guys sorry i havnt been here for a while hope you r all well, my zeds been off the road for a while so i had a chance to play with the plenum chamber question is this! i have sand blasted the outside of the plenum and have spayed it with a chrome effect spray paint, now this paint is ok up to 150 degrees, am i safe with this paint or is the car going to smell funny for a while p.s looks damn good though. bye the way if the paint faills does anyone know of a firm thad can polish and chrome it for me?? cheers.

Have been looking at getting leather for my beloved z, i see that you can get the leather kit but am a bit confused, do you buy it in loads a bits then get some one to sew it up and fit it, do you take full car or do you remove seats and what sort of cost is involved ?? any one done it recently??

Right, in order to get the first sample of indiglo faces, I need to borrow a UK speedo face (the actual face, not the whole instrument panel) to scan and send to my supplier. I would prefer a series 2 (I know I'm pushing my luck) if possible, so I can fit it to my car and check fitment. If anyone can help, please let me know. Cheers Vijay

I have a 91 300zx tt the ecu has a sticker on it it reads as follows : car shop esprit racing spirit it has a scoked eprom (IC5) labeled up as Z32 K4 Is this standard or is it a upgraded eprom ? any information would be welcomed nigel :confused:

oil leak from rear of engine. only happens when engine running not severe,several drips on floor after about 10 mins idleing. Looked down back of engine but cant seem to see where it might be coming from seems to be somewhere near to cylinder head area and running down the back. Has anyone had similar or got pictures of rear of engine to give me a clue as to where it may be coming from and if it is possible to correct with engine in place. :( :(

Well my Zed is on the road t&t and running like a dream not bad to say its been in so many bits for 6 months. Just got to watch out for speed humps lol with the veilside kit on its low .mind you I have had some fun with the blitz sbc id controller, car goes like fook!!. Happy Zedding.

What is the advised route to go. My manual gearbox 3rd synchro is kaput. Would you recommend a total rebuild, what are the costs? Is it best to to replace all the synchros? or should I go for a 2nd hand unit. All advice appreciated. Cheers Martin

My Zed seems to shake, skip side to side and by generally a nerve racking ride on bumpy roads. This cant be normal can it? It feels like thr Hicas could be making the back end skip from side to side over bumps. Is it too loose? What can i do ? HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dan

yes i know tickover threads have been done to death but i had a search and didnt find anything relevant to my problem, its been like this for a while now and i just got round to investigating basically the car drives and runs superb, good pickup smooth gear changes etc. auto j spec tt btw. now no matter what temperature the engine either from cold or normal temp, the tick over in neutral is always 1000 rpm, if i switch the aircon on it rises slightly which i beleive is normal. i think its running quite rich cos i noticed when backing up i get black smoke out the zorsts. it basically seems to me that the "choke" is stuck on all the time, so im thinking…

Is it possible for a car DIY guy to change the clutch on axle stands? She went into a garage this morning and was basically told they can't do it so im tempted to do it myself saving some money along the way. Looking at the faq on ttzd.com it doesnt look THAT bad, maybe a bit harder that a cambelt change i did a few months ago.

Has anyone put the heated seats from a series 2 car into a series 1? How are they wired up to the buttons on the centre console? Is it part of the main harness or just direct to the seats? How easy a job would it be?

I'm hopefully going to be putting a manual engine and box into my auto Z in the next month or 2. I'll be taking the lot out of a scrapped car and putting it straight into mine. What gaskets, seals, mounting stuff will I need to replace when moving it all over? I need to get a shopping list together. Chris.
