My Zds failed its mot with exsessive play on the rear weel bearings, only having done about 5000mls last year and no other related problems with the weel bearings. Now i have just jacked up the car to check for any play where there is a little movement in the direction of 4ws travel, but with holding top/bottom of the weel theres barely nothing. The movement travels to the rear PAS. ? Now im not to clued up on what is allowed with the 4ws ??? Any help or tips with any of this would be apreciated........ Cheers..

Got a strange problem. when driving along in first gear for instance will run fine up to 3000 revs then not budge above really. sitting with the car in neutral and rev it, it will get up to about 6 ish then start to die. Basically whenever the boost guage would go above the 0 point it won't move. Also at this point there is a hell of a noise from the front like a boost leak. I've disconnected now the recirc valves so it is off. This is where the noise was coming from but performance is still wrong. ECU says 55. If i disconnect the big pipe going to the recirc valve coming from the air inlet pipe going to the turbo from the afm (If u know which i mean) It will run bet…

Hi everyone - happy Easter! This may be a daft question to put on here but I thought I'd ask it any way. What is it, in an exhaust system, that produces the distinctive tone? A friend of mine just changed the exhaust on his Fiat Stilo to a run-of-the-mill stainless jobbie but added Remus back boxes and now his exhaust sounds fabulous! I was wondering if the sound is in the tubing (i.e., diameter and/or bends) or the back boxes. I'd love to change the exhaust tune of my Zed to make it sound like a Ferarri 355 - IMHO the sweetest sounding car on the planet! :) Silly question but I hope one of you knows the answer. Cheers! Danny

  10. Enquired about these sensors on TT.net the other day and got a reply from this gentleman who is hopefully organising a group buy in the near future! I believe the price range will be 300ish dollars and hopefully we could get a couple of sensors and a switch to check each bank! Here is his email! Hi, guys. This O2 sensor works just as well as or better than FJO or Motec systems... it has much more user functionality and features and is less than half the price of other systems. Here's some info on the wideband unit... 1) It will utilize the Bosch LSU-4 5 wire sensor, which is cheaper, easier to replace, and more readily availble than the N…

You lot getting bored of me asking the same sort of questions over and over again yet :D :D :D. Chris C mentioned previously that to run nismo 555 injectors you need a chip mapped for the 555's. All you guys running these, what chips have you got and where did you get them ? I'm like a little kid with sweets at the moment. I have really set my heart on these injectors :o

Morning all, Just a quick question to ask if the rear hatch struts (little shock absorber looking items that keep the rear hatch open) are the same part for the 2 seater and the 2+2. I need to replace mine as they have now failed and no longer keep the hatch up. AndyZ has a set from a 2+2 but I have a 2 seater and wanted to ask if anyone knew if they will fit (and work). Sorry about the outstanding technical description, but hey, there is a reason why I am a 'Junior' member, lol. Have a good day !

  18. Take a look at the bottom of this page in the online manual :- http://www.300zx.co.uk/tech/manual/manual/ma/018.gif According to some of the references inside it specifically covers the Australian and Euopean models. It clearly states that the standard spark plug for a TT is PFR6B-11C whereas in my official, printed Nissan workshop manual, that also specifically covers the Australian and European models, it clearly states that the correct plug is PFR6B-11 ????? Can't they make their minds up ? There is clearly more than one edition. I know that mine is the February 1990 edition, but I don't know what the online version is as that page has not been scanned…

Hi Folks, Well, my car's started to peel a bit - the plastic front air-dam (pre-99) has bits of paint coming off it which leaves a nice fleshy yellow coloured plastic showing through :( My question is: How can I cheaply and effectively re-paint it? Do I need to get a professional to do it or can I squirt it with an aerosol can from Halfords? I saw this thread: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=12390&highlight=front+peeling+paint but didn't really get the gist - TT Tim or Gio - how did you get on and what did you need? Will I need to prime the placcy first? I guess I should strip it back to just the plastic - h…

Hi Guys, As some of you are aware i crashed my Z about a month ago and still wating for the f@cking court to sort things out. It looks like it will take about 3 months before i hear anything from them. My questions are: 1. Is there any other way i can repair my Z apart from using original parts? As in fiberglass for the bonnet and bumper, a way to sort the headlights out (the glass part). 2. Is there any other car that shares the lights and or bonnet of the Z32? 3. Has anyone on here ever "made" themselves a bumper and/or bonnet, etc... and if so do you have any info on how i could do this. Basically i need to get the car on th…
