yes i know tickover threads have been done to death but i had a search and didnt find anything relevant to my problem, its been like this for a while now and i just got round to investigating basically the car drives and runs superb, good pickup smooth gear changes etc. auto j spec tt btw. now no matter what temperature the engine either from cold or normal temp, the tick over in neutral is always 1000 rpm, if i switch the aircon on it rises slightly which i beleive is normal. i think its running quite rich cos i noticed when backing up i get black smoke out the zorsts. it basically seems to me that the "choke" is stuck on all the time, so im thinking…

Is it possible for a car DIY guy to change the clutch on axle stands? She went into a garage this morning and was basically told they can't do it so im tempted to do it myself saving some money along the way. Looking at the faq on ttzd.com it doesnt look THAT bad, maybe a bit harder that a cambelt change i did a few months ago.

Has anyone put the heated seats from a series 2 car into a series 1? How are they wired up to the buttons on the centre console? Is it part of the main harness or just direct to the seats? How easy a job would it be?

I'm hopefully going to be putting a manual engine and box into my auto Z in the next month or 2. I'll be taking the lot out of a scrapped car and putting it straight into mine. What gaskets, seals, mounting stuff will I need to replace when moving it all over? I need to get a shopping list together. Chris.

Going around curve on inside at about 125 and he slides past real close and pulls in front! I keep with him untill we reach single carriage section, up to about 135. What was it..... my engine is running fast idle, hesitates when the accelerator is pressed and is running 6% co at the rear end. have been told that the most likely reason is faulty exhaust gas sensor, but how do i test them. there are three wires and i have been told to measure the voltage but what wires do i measure and what should the voltage be. any help appreciated.

Hey all Just got the car back from MOT at Nissan, it failed on the following: - Steering mechanism: excessive movement near & offside steering rack. - Front suspension: excessive movement in nearside top arm. I got a quote for parts and labour: Link: 54525 66U20 £133+VAT Rack: 49001 42P00 £681+VAT Labour total £357.50+VAT Grand total = £1300odd. :( Are these parts likely to be found and useable at a breakers? AndyZ? What is fitting like, I'm no mechanic but I'd have a go if its not too bad. Has anyone had either bits replaced? Pleeeeasse! Thanks folks Pete

Hi, Took a long drive down south over the weekend during which a red light on the dash came on and at the same time the car seemed to hesitate if you feathered the accelerator. If you floored it you got full boost and plenty of power. The light can only be described as a block with heat rising from it. I seem to recall that this is the cat overheat light. I have been advised that the hesitation could be unburnt fuel igniting in the cats but im no expert so who knows. Have any of you had this problem and how did you cure it. What happens when the light comes on to cause the hesitation and is it possible to disconnect it from the system. Help guys please…

Went to drive the car to work this morning and noticed a wet patch about 2ft square underneath the drivers door, the water is bright green in colour so after talking to jeff (zedworld) worked out the only thing it could really be is antifreeze. Anyway tried to find the leak and eventually found it trickling down the dash where the foot rest is (auto) so i am pretty sure it has something to do with the heater matrix. In order to get to the matrix and pipework how much of the dash has to come out ??? Any hints and tips would be much appreciated.

Yesterday my car developed a really annoying new noise......BOLLOCKS!  Its a high pitched whining noise which happens under acceleration and its pitch seems to be revs related (it also happens in neutral) However if I push the clutch in the noise stops. Oh yeah and its really loud - I can hear it out side of the car Any ideas? Thanks in advance Adam
