4 weel steer or worn out ???

My Zds failed its mot with exsessive play on the rear weel bearings, only having done about 5000mls last year

and no other related problems with the weel bearings.

Now i have just jacked up the car to check for any play where

there is a little movement in the direction of 4ws travel, but with holding top/bottom of the weel theres barely nothing. The movement travels to the rear PAS. ?

Now im not to clued up on what is allowed with the 4ws ???

Any help or tips with any of this would be apreciated........

Cheers..

jack it up by the diff ... get someone to grab wheel and move it, with theor hands at 3 & 9 oclock u lie underneath ... if the stering rod moves as well as the wheel it is the steering arms... dead easy to replace ... a wheels bearing worn would be really noisy ???? me thinks ... if it is 1 of the outer ball joints u this should be visable when checking the arms.....

supose it could be 1 of the bushes on the hub ... but dont think that they r generally a werable item ?

meant to say ... that u may have to hold the stering rod to feel the movement ... any movement is to much
