Hello all :) Had problems whilst fitting a new Samco top radiator hose today. The rad inlet where the hose fits onto crumbled as the plastic was v brittle and I was only left with 10mm-ish to jubilee clip the hose onto. I had to put the orig one back on cos the Samco was slightly shorter, enough to mean it wouldn't stay on now the plastic was broken. Now is the inlet part of the radiator, or does it come off the radiator? It extends down the side so looks like the rad would have to come out to replace the broken bit anyway. Suppose I could try to repair the plastic with glue and more plastic but dont want to botch it. Anyone had this before? I've put …

Hi, Can anybody help with information. My garage phoned to say that the guy that does their window replacement has been in and looked at my car. The rear window seal was cut back for a respray, and now needs replacing. He is very concerned as the Rear Window is a very tight fit (and bonded) into the hatch frame. He thinks he is likely to damage the glass in trying to take it out (and it is a very expensive item - Import 2-seater coupe). Any knowledge or advice? Is there a specialist in the SW London area for this kind of thing? Thanks, Geoff

Middle cylinder drivers side is not firing. Fine when turned off one evening, duff next morning. I've swapped the coil pack and the plug over, fault stays on same cylinder. and the plug sparks when the engine is running and it's laying on the block If anyone has any good ideas I'd be glad to hear them. If they involve cleaning sensors etc a pointer to the location would be appreciated. I've managed to locate the PTU (old type) and thats about it. Just off for a pie and a pint (and a moan) Cheers in advance

Sorry about the dumb ass question, but has the 300 got 2 AFM's or just the one? Reason is I have a Z32 AFM to fit to my car, and need to get the appropriate adapter plate to fit, but prices for induction kits so far have been really high, and I'm thinking perhaps this is because it comes with 2 filters and plates. Please let me know, many thanks, Vince :)

Can anyone send me a picture of a uk spec rear seat belt fitting? I have managed to acquire a set of uk belts to fit to my import car, but there are no clues as to just which bit goes where! Excerpts from the manual, or a photo of a uk car would be brilliant. Many thanks, Nigel

Right, now that the beast in gonna have to have gearbox removed, new clutch fitted, core plugs fitted, all turbo water by-pass hoses replaced, I've got to thinking that now might be the time to finally bite the bullet and get the turbos done. The offside turbo has smoked a wee bit from about a year after I bought it.. it went smokey-mad when I tried to fit the 3" straight though exhaust system of Mark's 300ZX a few years ago up at Johnny's place.. So it's always been an issue, and obviously stopped me gutting the cats for example, as it would do the same thing (I have a mongoose system on there). So replacing the turbos would mean I could gut the cats, and …

While fixing a sqeaky door trim last night I noticed the cone on the speaker in passanger door was ripped almost round the entire speaker!! For some reason I forgot to measure the speaker size before I put the trim back on! Anyone know what dimensions I need for a simple as possible replacement? Since my sensitive ears hadn't picked up on this fault I don't think I'll spend too much money on replacements!! Cheers David

Hi, I just bought a '91 TT manual import which has though exhausts, performance air filter, a superchip and increased boost levels. I was told that the boost is set to max 15psi (?) but there is no new boost guage, just the original Jap spec one and I understand the turbos are also original spec items. I have heard all sorts of advice about what the car can take regarding boost level (with figures varying from 10 to 15). But I haven't just bought and insured a 400+BHP modified car so I can tune it back down again! That said - I don't want to do expensive damage by running too much boost either. I'd firstly like to get an accurate boost gauge fitted, possibly wit…

Hey folks, I've booked my Zed in at Nissan for its MOT on Monday. I'm sure it'll pass but am slightly concerned about emissions. Is emissions test failing common among us Zedowners? Mine's decatted also. I 'eard the trick about pulling that hose out (dunno what it's called but could point it out) but do you think this'll be necessary, or just a trick in case it fails  Also, the car will be sat there all morning waiting, so won't have been warmed up - will this be a problem? Or shall I tell them to warm it up first (like they'll listen  ) Thanks everyone :) Pete

A guy in the states has e-mailed me with a sill cover he is making. I have bought stuff off him in the past and he seems fair. He has come up with this cover that covers most of the plastic, but not all. I personally prefer the full covers that were available but were very expensive. The engraving on the sill in the picture is custom engraved, the normal ones will have "300zx". If anyone is interested, then let me know. Vijay

Because I got my import serviced when I bought it, the service intervals don’t match with the “correct” mileage – and it’s in km anyway! The services should be A B A C A B A C etc with A being the little one and C being the biggy. In theory, my next services should be B at 145,000km, A at 155,000km and C at 165,000km. The timing belt was replaced at 71,300km and since it should be replaced every 100,000km, it looks as if I can wait until the next C service at 165,000km. The water pump failed just after that. Does this mean I should replace the water pump now (preventative) or wait until when the timing belt gets changed and do the two at the same time?…

I have found a 1984 300zx turbo, It would basically be for parts or someone to fix up. The engine runs well with 70,000 miles on it but smokes when it starts up after it sits for a while. The seats are pretty bad and cracked. The t top roofs are in alright condition. the transmission is good and the car runs, but isnt safe to drive because the back end seems to walk around and the breaks are basically nonexistant. The body is in ok condition the paint is very old and it shows and the backend above the tires have rusted a lot! Its got a newer exhaust and i was told it goes. what would make the back end move? And what could I try to sell this for? Would it be bette…

At the moment I have get the missus to pull it up while I press the button, ;) ;) Could it be the drive slipping?? Has anyone had this problem and managed to solve it, without spendin loads of dosh??? Cheers Bob
