My aerial just started to make grindy noises and hesitate a bit going up and down. (Just like me when I hit 40 ;) ) What should I clean / lube it with? WD40? 3in1? Does it matter? Thanks - Gio

Evening all, I have not been a very 'active' member of this forum even though I have frequently visited this forum for the 5 years that I have owned my 300. So as a kind of introduction, here is my story. The relationship with my 300 started about 5 years aho when I purchased my 300 (1990, SWB, TT, Manual, Jap Import) from a complete tw*t who ripped me off BIG time. It was a combination of me being naive and him seeing me coming a mile off. You guys have probably heard this story a million times, young bloke, has some money, test drives a TT for the 1st time, cums all over the place and buys the car like an idiot... well that was me. The car had some…

Once the autobox is sorted I'm considering the Shift At Will kit available from an outfit in Sweden. It's on a thread on here somewhere but the details on my PC at home sorry. Has anyone got this or have any feedback they can give. The site has a video of the kit in use. It seems to be a perfect match between manual and automatic. Thanks Mark

The battery in my zed is pooped so obviously I need a new one. Can anyone tell me what is the right type of battery for an import zed i.e. current capacity etc. Main dealer told me that for a UK car it would of been £40+vat but could not verify that it would fit an import. Is that so?. Dont really care what type or make of battery I get, as long as its man enough for the job. Tony

I'm after a set of Veilside C1 side skirts, as I'm not too keen on the new style. Apparently they aren't available anymore but I was speaking to Grasshopper yesterday and they said they could mould me a set. Will these be the same quality does anyone know, or inferior compared to the "real thing" ? Thanks.

HI guys - and girls Can anyone out there recommend a good autobox workshop in the Surrey area ? My 'box won't select top except on overrun and the changes it does make are 'slippy' - if that makes sense. Any recommendations welcome. Mark PS My car was the Skyline blue Z at the Brighton meeting. Thanks for all the positive comments.

Guys, Ive found a leak in the passenger side cat so i need to replace it. But i thought it may be the perfect opportunity to decat..... Basically i need to find out if theres any cheaper alternative then paying £250 squid for decat pipes. Mind my ignorance but i think its kinda expensive for some exhuast pipes. (sorry, another thread!) A place in East London do all sorts of motors, mate told me they're charge 30quid a cat.... but u jus cant trust any old person these days, and the 300 aint just 'any old motor'...... Has any1 had any luck getting decat pipes cheap, any advice would be great! Cheers jaz

After a number of failed attempts, I might have a supplier in the US who is willing to make up the faces in mph for us in the UK. The faces I'm talking about will change colour from blue - light blue - green - blue green - light green - violet - cyan - indigo at the touch of a button. The kit will include the transformer and all replacement faces. The rough price I have will work out to between £150 to £170, which would include shipping and taxes. If anyone's interested, can you just say if your clocks are a series 1 or 2, as the fitment would be different. I can't say if this will definitly come off as I've been promised by other suppliers so I'm just try…

Could anyone tell me when you should be looking at upgrading the air intake system. I currently use K&N filter replacements in the standard air box. How much difference would it make to move to a single or double cone system? Apart from the sound of course! ;-) Brian. '91 TT Auto Import Mongoose Exhaust K&N Filters Poorly rear end :(

As some of you are aware, it seems that I have been running on 5 cylinders for a while now. The problem seems to be with the 2nd injector or the wiring to it. The coil, plug and connection to the coil have been checked and there are no problems there (get a big fat juicy spark). However the plug is not very wet :( . The injector has a 12v constant running to it but, I'm not sure how to test the pulse (i.e. the earth wire). I have rewired the Traction Control on Sunday but it seems that connection 110 on the ECU (which is the 2nd injector) was a nice firm connection. I will be by passing the TC tonight if I have time. Then Ican hopefully eliminate the Traction Control fro…

I recently asked a company to quote for importing a 94+ Z for me and this is their response : "A 300ZX twin turbo of T-Bar 1991-92 should be possible to find in excellent condition (classy, not overstated - or we can find a standard car also) for between 9,350 - 10,500 pounds OTR." Should I be as indignant as I am ??? Answers on a postcard.... Doc.

I finally fitted my induction kit at the weekend, a major achievement for someone as Mechanically inept as me :D, 6 months after I bought it! Anyway, nobody mentioned it was such a barstool of a job removing the front two bolts to remove the stock airbox! It took me an hour to remove two bolts! Mike

Detonation advise/ info is often spoken about here also is poor running both intemittent and worse. My own experiece of testing fuel makes and manufacturers has been inconclusive...the Shell optimax as one subject matter, although I tried this for some 200 miles of use I was never totally convinced and reverted back to the usual unleaded. Now in two years of ownership of my present zed running 14 psi etc etc I have NEVER EVER knowingly suffered from detonation regardless of where I got my petrol from. I deal with many zeds either suffering from detonation or have in the past and often a poor level of service can be a contributing factor, but a positive …

Im talking top speed here, done a search but not much info on it, so was wondering if de- limited what can they do? i just had mine reading over 165 and it was still pulling, im not standard, but not got as much done as some on here, but the fact that i had to slow as end of road was approaching (private road;) ) made me wonder what it could do flat out, eg real speed not micky mouse speedo etc

Has anybody noticed after fitting a mph convertor chip that the steering is considerably lighter? I know the PAS now thinks its only doing 5/8 of the actual speed but should it really make a big difference? Anyone got a graph of speed-assistance for the zed, is there one in the service manual? Be interesting to see. Thanks
