About 1 month ago i had an agent import me a 300zx. To cut a long story short im very happy with it but i keep finding aftermarket mods!! Good ones! I put a post on the forum asking about what boost levels i can run to on stock turbos and stock ECU because the car had a boost controller. The majority of people said i had to upgrade the ecu before running at higher levels than 12psi. Well i had a look at the ECU today and! their is a sticker on it saying! ""KAKIMOTO RACING!!"" SO THE QUESTIONS ARE: 1. Is this a good ECU upgrade?? 2. What boost levels can i run to now?? 3. What kinda Bhp will i be putting to the wheels with this ECU, cat bac…

My 1990 UK Auto (standard spec. genuine 57K on the clock) had a recon. box fitted last year - since which I have covered a mighty 500 miles (its amazing the petrol savings that come from a 34 week lay-up in the garage!) - everything was great until last week. The symptoms are similar to a slipping clutch - revs can rocket without the car going any faster?? it also appears to not change into top - it will rev to 7,500 - 8,000 and have the limiter cut in but it will only be doing 80 mph. As I said - it was running superbly, so suggestions please. My guess is the torque converter, although I'm the first to admit that my knowledge of auto boxes is minimal. The GO…

Was driving along behind one of these on a single carriageway, when the passenger looked around and said something to the driver, who then decided to try and loose me!! Anyway I easily kept up with him and would have gone for the overtake if there had been any opportunities, but there wasn't! And then I started dropping back several car lenghths...much to their delight....and I was dropping back even further....when FLASH!! He had just gone through that horrible speed camera that I had known about all the time!!:D :D That made me laugh, that did!!;) Cheers, F.T.

There a highish pitched whine coming from what sounds like the rear of the engine compartment. Appears both when parked and under load when the revs are between about 2500 and 3500 although I suppose that other engine noise could be drowning it out at higher revs. Also seems only to appear with a change of revs although agian that might be wishfull thinking I initially though it was a loose belt but I'm pretty sure there aren't any belts back there. It also sounds a bit like the screach of metal on metal but I've checked the oil level and that seems fine although I'm not overly happy with oil pressure levels at the moment. Any ideas. now off to the pub to drown …

My local scrappy made me an offer I couldn't refuse. It was a set of 17inch alloy wheels which came off a late model MR2, though I don't think they are original. They are 10 spoke with 10 small stud holes at the top of each spoke. At the rim end there are two allen key studs each side of the spoke. They look more decoritive than practical. the wheels are the normal alloy colour except the outer rim which shines like stainless steel. They are fitted with yokohama tyres which are less than a quarter worn. the tyre sizes are 135-40-17, the other two being 205-40-17, but I expect I could live with that for a while. They came with the wheel nuts, which being very slim h…

Hello everyone, just signed up, so Hello! Looking at buying a 300 cause they look just so great and have been doing my research :) so worked out, i want a series 2 or a series 3 tt, manual (v important) model (doesnt' have to be modded). Question i got is, how much am i looking at price wise? I was hoping to stay under £6000, but looking at the prices on here, is this being a bit ambituos? Other thing, i'm in london, and a lot of you guys seem to be too, so do you offer a, um, like rent a knowledge days, where you can come and check a car over for me (as obviously i know absolutely nothing about them :))? i'll pay you of course! many thanks! Got a bad water leak which I'm trying to fix today. It appears to be a pipe from the driver's side turbo. It comes from a vertical metal pipe and bends round to underneath the plenum. I've removed all the extraneous sh1t from around it but I'm still struggling to get at the end underneath the plenum. There's still a pipe in the way stopping me getting to my pipe. It's about an inch in diameter and I'm going to have to shift it first. However, it doesn't appear to want to budge. Anyone any idea what it is, how to get it off, etc? Any help very much appreciated. Cheers Mike

Hey i need some advice. I just bought a 1990 twin turbo automatic tranny. I got it for real cheap that is why i did not get a 5 speed, plus i heard they are just as fast auto. How can i get more horse power without sacrificing reliability, i heard the 1990 trannys suck and i am nervous to do up my car now! What can i do to make it run 13 second 1/4 mile? What does a blow off valve do to help? DO i need a boost controller? WHere are the best places to buy both of those cheap? How much should ii pay someone to instal them? WHat does this car run stock in the 1/4 mile? WHat is top speed? Who makes a strut tower brace for this car? I also …

I've just put my Z away in a garage for 12 months now, I need some money in my life for a change, but i'm not going to give up on the thing! It's got a (fresh) problem, that someone might be able to help me with. When I'm braking hard, the oil pressure guage drops to zero then when the car has stopped it comes back up to quarter the way along the gauge. It's always read low on the oil pressure so I replaced the sender unti...nop difference apart from now it registers this sudden drop in pressure. The car has also developed a loud lifter ticking sound coming from the rear o/s of the engine, this will go away with the appropriate oil additive, but soon comes back. …
