Why does my car have this, whats it meant to do, does any one on here actualy like having it??

Hi, I notice over the weekend that my front tyres were cracking in between the tread, other than that the tyres look like new, with loads of even tread, is this seriously dangerous, or is it just surface cracks. The tyres are brigestone zr grip II and are no older than 3 years. Would like to hear if any one could shed some light on this, because if I go into a tyre shop they just might scare the crap out of me for a set of new tyres. Thanks for any advise. Tony

What is the difference between the jap engine and the uk engine as regards engine turbos and ecu's and output power and performance? I have a jap import zx300 tt and each time i give it a boot a red light comes on then a massive power loss followed by constant misfires. What dose the red warning light mean. What can be done to keep it off i never WANT TO SEE IT AGAIN . Finally my car is not fitted with cruise control could i get donor parts from a scrap 300zx tt and fit it directly to my car ? what would be be involved what is the best way to go about it ? thanks nigel :confused:

Well, surpsrise, surprise.:mad: I go to pick the car up from the gearbox place and they have managed to sort the boost problem but tell me my radiator is duff, so my first question is: Where can I get a rad and is it easy to fit? Prices etc? Secondly, coming home gave the car a bit of a rag, not too much but a little and then the boost turns right down to 0psi and the car has no pick up at all. After about 5 mins I start to hear a rattle, and my missus who is behind me tells me there smoke coming from my passenger side exhaust. Just had to share that with someone because I was so chuffed :D Did sound absolutely awsome when it was opened up though (could hear it very well 2 feet off his bumper). Road was wide & twisty but he couldn't leave me at all between the bends. To be fair though, I was carrying a bit more momentum out of them - he wasn't the most commited round the twisties. Wouldn't even speak though when we stopped at garage.

When the nearside dipped headlight blew on Friday I decided to replace both with the 55w but "30%" brighter versions from Halfords - (458's). I had found that using per-fluxed electrical solder a bit tricky and so I dug out some plumbers (lead free) solder and a tin of flux. I roughed up the rear of the metal fitting with a file, put some of the flux on, (it looks like grease), and tinned the fitting. I then tinned the end of the new connection, added a little more flux and fitted the two parts together, I applied the iron and a nice connection was made. On the autobox what is the inhibitor switch, how does it work and what happens if it goes wrong????

WHEN DRIVING AT A STEADY SPEED IN ANY GEAR MY 300ZX TT JERKS & JUDDERS. WHEN I COME OFF THE THROTTLE OR WHEN I ACCELERATE IT'S FINE & SMOOTH. THE CARS DONE 66,000 MILES & HAS A FULL HISTORY & JUST BEEN SERVICED. HAS ANYONE HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM ?

How much does a larger spoiler cost like mac 1 has or a nice front spoiler I dont want to spend loads just make the car look different Also how much does a kit cost to widen the arches as that looks the nuts

Does anyone have any binary files for chips that I could have a look at ? Probably going to start playing with mine, so would like some for comparison.

Hello everyone, I am new to this site, and just wondered if any one can give me advice please. Changed my TPS for new this weekend (and ECU temp sensor). My autobox gear changes are now sooooo smooth I can hardly tell its changing gear. So for all you autos out there with jumpy gearboxes, something perhaps to check before laying blame on a knackered box? StuartR

Just a question about the octane additives you can buy to pop in your fuel really, have chat with a skyline owning friend over the w/e, basically he was saying that about twice a month he sticks additives into the engine, said this gives him much better fuel economy in some cases another 50-60 miles. Also mention of it being better for the engine, cleaner.. etc. So, question really, how much of this is actually true, other than the obvious cost what are the negatives... what brand additive is best to use, and how often?

Hi, Looking for some information about the Rim Edge Protectors that a number of Tyre Manufacturers add to the outer sidewall (Toyo, etc..). I am thinking about S03s. The Bridgestone S02s use to have this protector, but does the replacement S03? I think I remember an old post hinting that it may have been dropped? Appreciate any information about the S03. Also about alternatives, as I think I will need this extra help (narrow road parking, etc...). Thanks, Geoff

Having just removed one of my calipers to locate a suspect leak it was found in the lower brake pipe. I have a pipe bending kit, however I notice Goodridge make a Brake line kit, presumably these are stainless overbraid. Might be worth finishing the job properly as I have new disks and pads to go on and a caliper rebuild is on the way. Anyone using these or know where best to get them from. Alternatively any other manufacturers do these for the Zed, cost e.t.c. Cheers Andrew

My car has a poblem revving over about 6000rpm. It pulls hard at low revs then at about 5k it loses a lot of go. Other than that and a nackered clutch (replacement soon to arrive from smithy:) ) she's running nice and smoooooth.. Ive replaced fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, fuel filter and have tried wiring pump straight to 12v to check pump controller. Also today checked fuel pressure with new gauge and it seems ok. Also changed spark plugs (in hind site they might not be brilliant, ill get one out later and check the code) changed ptu cleaned throttle body connector and mas connector. Checked voltages on CAS. Checked ignition timing and changed cambel…

Hi all, coming across the second crossing booting it a bit ,got to 140 and this light came on, 3rd from the left on main bank,under water temp,slowed and it went off again, never seen it before or want to again for that matter!!but cant find what it is, i have a jap n/a.any help on the subject appreciated,. thanks

Hi Guy's Anybody have any idea how much this will cost??. To fit high back wing like Macca's car has, i believe this also requires a tail gate skin. Also Front bumber has a crack on the lower right hand side, it has split upwards about 3 inches but is all there. And the left hand side of bumber has a scrape on it where it caught the garage door. So it's basically a tail gate skin, high rise rear spoiler and a repair to the front bumper. Then sprayed to match the rest of the Car, Silver. Any info much appreciated. Cheers Dave.

Mt beast has been running like a 2 stroke diesel tractor recently when warm and being very reluctant to accelerate and jerking. Very embarassing when you get into a race with a Almera on a motorway from 50mph in fifth and you lose! I've done the usual (checked tps, cleaned throttle bodies and temp shitch) but short of changing the plugs I am lost as to what is the cause. Oh yeah it's only on the right hand bank as you're sitting in the car as well. Ivan (very frustrated with lawnmowers!)

I have a Cobra 7928 Cat 1 alarm fitted that I have had upgraded to close the windows and throw the central locking through the 'blipper'. The other day I went to open the door and as it opened I realised that the alarm was still on and that the door should heve been locked! After a little bit of fiddleing I realised that although all the components appeared to be working, and making the right noises, the lock wasn't, after a couple of minutes of lock/unlock via the key in the lock and using the internal lever everything seems to be working again and the door locks with the 'blipper' again. So the moral of this story is, check that your 'full closure' alarm …

hi sorry to bother everyone but i am really stressed at the moment. i have just recently had some bodywork done to my car quite radical infact but it looks amazing. i was washing my car today and i noticed that the part of the kit that was blended in to the body of the car has cracked. its only been two weeks. i`m worried that if i take me car back to the guy that did the work he might turn around and ask me to pay for for the repair. as far as i understand it should neer happened so there must be a problem in the way he did the job or something along those lines. can anyone give me advice as i cant afford to pay for any repairs. cheers rav:confused:
