Anybody got one? I'm thinking of getting one as getting worried about my security at the moment with a few problems at home shall we say... :( Where's the cheapest place to buy?

hello folks, currently using a snooper 715i detector, which has proved invaluable in both my old tvr and now the zed. Been 'thinking' about this new road angel mallarkey. read several reviews and seems very promising, anyone on here actually using of of these little gizmos, and how does it fair to the old snoopers if you upgraded vicky x x

started up my car for the first time in about a month ( havent driven cos one of the turbos has blown) and a new noise has appeared from the engine. it sounds alot like tappet noise, increases with revs, stops the minute the engine is stopped and is coming from the offside bank of cylinders. it sounds very loud though and didnt stop after idleing for bout 3 minutes. is tappet noise something that could occur due to not driving the car for a long time and will stop once the cars been driven a few times or could it be something else enyone can think of? i know a slight bit of tappet noise is common for the first few seconds after starting up the car but i didnt think …

I've put a boost leak detector on to see if I have any leaks but it doesn't pressurize at all. I'm still getting positive boost on the car but I can't really tell if I'm hitting max boost or not cos I've just had a new clutch and flywheel put in and I'm running them in. Can anyone tell me where to start looking and if anyone knows where there is a good diagram of all the pipework so I can trace them all? Thanks Vijay

Is it next to impossible to remove the turbos from under the car? I think i'm going to replace mine to see if they're the cause of my no power at high revs, but i don't want to remove the engine, it's not practical where i live. I'm going to try jacking her up tonight and checking it out but am i stupid even thinking about it?

Steve E I guess you posted some helpful tips on det and retard earlier, I'm the guy running 18.5psi and i would shure like not to be, so how can i stop it. when i turn the boost controller off it still boosts past 18 and the diddy dauge on the speedo dissapears to the right. I get that horrifying noise like "goosehonk" so I thought i had boost leak. how does that work, 18psi and boost leak? do you have any ideas? I only had it all fitted 2 weeks ago running fine before that, b*****x.

Hi, My recently purchased 1992 300zx was imported into the UK about 3 years ago. Is it advisable to get it undercoated, and if so, are there different types and quality of undercoating ? I imagine the underneath must be pressure washed, is the coating they put back some kind of 'elastomeric bitumen' type of coating or what ? How are zeds generally when it comes to resisting rust (I remember the 240z was a real 'rust bucket') I would have thought the zeds to be good on this matter, but there is a new post from a zed owner saying his zed is rusted beyond repair. Thanks John

Hi people, I have just had the horrible news that my beloved 300 is not going to make it through the MOT without quite a lot of work. I've basically been told that it's pretty rotten underneath and is going to need some extensive welding. I really need some advice I guess. I have spent literally thousands on this baby, but I now being advised not to have the work done. The problem I have is that the majority of the car is good. It has a new(ish) engine with 2 huge turbo technics turbo's, boost controller and turbo timer, new items such as radiator, radiator matrix, rear mich. pilot tyres (265,40,ZR17), discs all round. It also has a huge 125DB ICE syst…

does anyone know where the fuel pump voltage regulator is please??

Arse!!! Well, I think my heater matrix is dead. Water pisses all over my left foot when taking left hand corners and on hard acceleration. It pisses into the passenger side as well of course. I've searched the relevant posts but can not find a working link to the Aussy site regarding the heater matrix removal and installation. Can someone point me to another link etc to carry out the replacement with the dash-in and fiddly method??? Is it possible that the heater matrix is fine but perhaps a pipe has come loose etc because the heater still works fine other than the leaks of course??? Cheerz Van

I'm thinking about buying a standard J-spec '97 TT with 40k miles on the clock. Trouble is I've just HPI'd it and its come back as CAT C damaged. Is it worth the bother of getting it checked out or should I leave it? What do I have to check it for and where would I have it inspected? Presumably the RAC would not be the best call? The current owner genuinely seemed surprised to find out that its been written off. What should I pay for it? Thanks for your help, hoping to join the Z community...

Hi, had my aircon emptied and regassed at the weekend as it only just worked, had 45% of the amount it should have had. But, it only works slightly better. Almost as if some valve or sensor is stuck/broken/dirty. Any ideas please..

Hi All, I've just checked the resistances of the det sensor and its ECU connector. Det sensor is reading 0.533 Mega Ohms rather than 1Mega Ohm as expected - I suppose it may just be completely sh*gged but if not, will the lower resistance make it more or less sensitive to det noise? ECU resistances are OK. I'm using an AVC-R so safety boost is no longer possible but from recent posts it appears my ignition may be being retarded which is making my engine run hot due to the high AVC-R controlled boost - this is making things worse and accelerating the detting from what I can gather...surely bypassing the det sensor in my situation can't make things worse but …

MY ZED WAS RUNNING REAL ROUGH AS ON 5 OR LESS CYLINDERS SO CLEANED PTU CONNECTIONS AND EVERYTHING WAS OK FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS. CHECKED FOR SPARK BUT NO SPARK AT ALL. IS THIS PTU FAILURE? IS THERE ANY WAY OF TELLING FOR SURE? CHEERS ..LEE

Just had my car back after having 2 new turbo's fitted. They are the Turbo Dynamics stage 1 / 2 with 360 degree thrust bearing and staggered gap seal e.t.c. e.t.c. (MD 275 + MD 276 models) Just before they were put on I noticed on the paperwork attached, boost set at 0.5 bar. Somebody correct me here if I'm wrong as I'm a PSI man that this equates to approx 7psi. Which in my mind is safety boost territory. When I bought my Zed the turbo's were knackered so this is the first time I've had boost, but it's not amazing bearing in mind we also have apexi intake, Iridium sparkers and de-catted along with mongoose system. Boost guage reads fine although as reli…

Today seen how far you can take a cam belt mileage .... to extreams that resulted in the pics attached! a non starter? the engine had failed at relatively low speed, after removing the belt and setting the timing (valve and crank way out) a new belt and away she went no noise just purred away with NO damage not bad for a 145k miler on what looks like the original belt!
