Had my zed for 2 weeks now... done about 600 miles...got a slight oil leak to be fixed when i find the fooker but gettin paranoid about the turbos. Twice when ive booted it in 3rd and 4th ive had a lot of blue smoke from the rear(presume exhs).Then it clears and thrash it as i might i cant get it to do it again. Been deliberately booting it hard but nothing. oh.. tried to get people to follow me to see what was happening when i booted it.... couldnt keep up.........lol any ideas welcome

Hi, Just took deliver of a Blitz SBC i-d and Power Meter i-d and am currently looking through the instructions and it says that the controller will not drop the boost pressure below the stock boost pressure. Does this mean that I cannot adjust the pressure below 14psi that my car is currently set to??? If this is the case is there anything I can do to allow me to adjust the boost pressure lower so I have more adjustment . I would ideally like to be able to take boost from 7psi or lower to about 17psi max. Zedhot :confused:

Right I know I asked this before and Steve E told me that the fan only comes on at 105ºC and comes on full power at 110ºC so I presume when the temp is below that it is normal. I had a cambelt change and before then I it was running cool very rarely going over 80ºC and when it did it went no higher than 90º. Now after my cambelt change which the water pump was changed too, its getting to 100ºC too often. Today I was driving 50mph down the motorway at 2000rpm in 5th gear and the temp was about 95ºC. I accelerated to 70mph which was about 2500rpm for about 10 miles and the temp went up to 110ºC, when I started to get a little worried. Any help? …

Help! Ive just bought an early import 1990 ZX and it has lap belts in the back. My ex-wife has decided she won't let the kids go in it unless I fit 3-point shoulder belts! Is this possible? Are there places in the UK that would fit them for me? Thanks in advance for any help, Mythix.

When I went to Billing I saw several cars with Chrome/stainless wheel rims trims, mostly on OZ wheels I think, anyone know where to get them from as my wifes 18" OZ wheels need tiding on the rims.

I am trying to remove my O/S rear ball joint, this is contained in a rubber bush on the hub assy'. My bush remover has a nut + bolt which pulls the bush out and into a cylinder, the bolt running through the bush, but with the balljoint there this is not possible to do. Ive undone the rear shocker for more access and tried a 2 legged tool but the surronding metal arround the bush aint in to good a nick. any special tools needed ???? any help or advice appreciated. I am in the process of fitting a new CD player in my Z but the ariel connection is not compatible with the new unit. Is there a conversion plug I can buy. If so where from, or is there another way around this problem. Billy

After boring everyone with my tales of woe concerning my poor sick Zed,I have found a new replacement kit for £100 including the harness.unfortunatly it is american!! would it still be compatible with my 1992 jap import? Any help is GREATLY appreciated!!! JON:)

Probably getting a bit boring to people reading my posts but I have exhausted all suggestions for the number plate holder for my car...does anyone have one or know anyone that may have? (the UK spec plastic job that breaks when you breathe on it!!!) I would hate to give Nissan the money when there must be someone out there that could benefit...

hi lads, lately my zed has felt slightly underpowered (tt auto) when you boot it from a standing start the wheels used to spin and away you go... but lately it seems a bit flat low down. but today in the sweltering heat i put my aircon on, and the car is totaly different , its real powerful low down and i can spin the wheels why is this? can any one help? many thanks Jim:confused:

does anyone here know anything about digital radio? ive got a hirshman antenna( for a honda s2000) (my mates)with two 12v feeds coming out of it, one for fm/am and one for d.a.b. then the two coax for 1 for d.a.b and one for fm/am. the problem i have is the fm/am side wont work (antenna not switching over inside) is the antenna faulty? or what else can i try. (just thought id ask you lads) thanks jim.

Just put my new AFM / MAS on. My old one had pins/spades on B, C, D & E......A & F were blanked off. The new one I've just put on had spades on A, B, C, D, E, and F blanked off. The female plug (attached to the car) had the female spades for all 5 of my new one. Anyone got any idea's to the difference. Hope I've explained it well enough.....can't find my bloody dig camera at the moment! Cheers.

When your flooring it, what RPM do you get to peak boost at? In 2nd and 3rd I seem to hit 1.3 bar at 5500-6000 rpm. Whaddya think? That seem about right?

Trying to set up the boost and fuelling on my Z yesterday and kept coming up against intermittent fuelling probs and an inability to run much more than 1.2bar. Anyway the garage reckon its the 'coolers so on Friday were gonna modify the front bumper to improve the airflow through them....... As an aside, I went out last night after dark, when the temperature had dropped, and everything was fine at 1.3 bar - I could probably gone higher, but I didnt wanna lean out.... So what do you guys think?

Hi, Just been looking at Mac1's spec and notice he has dump valves. I didn't realise you could put dump valves on an automatic. If you can is there much modification required and what are the advantages and disadvantages if any?? Zedhot.

Can anybody tell me whereabouts in the on-line manual I can find the section about the pedals - mine need adjsuting as the break and accelerator are reallty close together. Cheers, Andy

Guys Had my top cam seals changed and the back half moon seals also changed thinking these were the course of my oil leak. NOT SO LUCKY. Its slill leaking so what the next step and how can you detect where its comeing from. Ken
