I am trying to remove my O/S rear ball joint, this is contained in a rubber bush on the hub assy'. My bush remover has a nut + bolt which pulls the bush out and into a cylinder, the bolt running through the bush, but with the balljoint there this is not possible to do. Ive undone the rear shocker for more access and tried a 2 legged tool but the surronding metal arround the bush aint in to good a nick. any special tools needed ????

any help or advice appreciated.

Cheers Andy tt.

Andy,

Just done this myself...the only way that you can get a clean go at this ball joint is to remove the complete hub. Once it was off the car it took less than 15 minutes to knock the old one out and replace!!! (just took me over a week to successfully get the hub nut off!!!)

ohh...just used a big copper mallet to knock the old one out and then a large socket surrounding the new ball joint to squeeze it in with a vice
