on the way from dropping the girlfriend on her works night out i managed to get pasted from the lights by a pug 206 gti from the lights. then to cap it all i was undertaken on a roundabout by a lambo diablo, he totally took the piss and shot right round me. however i was in the missus' 1.2 corsa. still, first time ive been pasted by a lambo

OK, being mechanically minded is excellent but I aint no sparky but I am looking for a permanent live feed at the front bumper region of the car to wire my lovely air horns into. Any clues guys?? Wiggly string and elctrickery just aint my thing. Cheerz Nick :cool:

anyone help, my problem is the engine on idle is misfiring i put new sparkplugs in and it ran fine for a weeks running but as gone back to misfire again. it does not have the problem when driving. cheers

Its my wedding anniversary next weekend and my (American) wife has never been to the south coast. I`d like to whip her to Southampton for he weekend when I get the Zed back from JeffTT on Saturday morning. Zed causing me grief!!!!!!! Doesn't like starting when warm. Fine when cold usually!! The normal 1/2 turn of the key, however if it doesn't catch on that first fire it's usually takes 5-6 seconds before it will start. As for when its warm and after a run, come back to it 1/2 an hour later and it really struggles to fire. when it does start there's a real hesitation and drop of revs as soon as you depress the throttle, not enough to stall if your careful but damn annoying. 2 mins later and they'll be nothing wrong and no hesitation. Theres no hesitation or missing after that initial press of the accelerator, and she pulls like normal. Any ideas!!:conf…

Hi all Just wondering if anyone can throw any light on why my Zed - a 89, jap spec, TT Targa Automatic is doing a very low 13mpg? It used to do at least 19-21 but for some reason has now dropped to 13mpg? Also where can i get good allloys for the car that will def fit the ZEd? Just gt back form ibiza today where it was 42 each day in the shade..its quite cold here then!!!!!!! Regards Ian

Hi All, Found a couple of boost leaks today, one easy, one not so easy:( It's the lower turbo hose which has split - the one with the ribbed/flexi section. I'm assuming this is the outlet side (?) Three questions: 1. Is it possible to replace this hose with engine in place? 2. This is a moderate split, not huge, am I right in thinking this will mean drop in boost pressure, running lean off boost and running rich on boost? 3. Is there an aftermarket replacement part available (Smithy?) - dreading the Nissan price. Just bought a 1993 J-Spec import that came with a indash tv/gps sat nav/cd tape player. The only problem is that I can only receive 1 radio station and the tv tuner doesn't pick up UK stations. The unit is made by pioneer. Does anyone know how to convert these units to UK spec?

Well every so often at the moment the engine temp guage (OEM) is going rather high. I recently did a clean out of sensor sender as guage was going erratic. The elect. fan is working. When air con. is on temp. goes up more. Questions: Could it be due to the extreme hot weather conditions? New exhausts were put on and I did notice that the idle rpm is slightly up - around 1 instead of below which could lead to overheating. When I noticed this I thought perhaps the ECU needs resetting - so undid battery etc. but the idle RPM may be still higher than should be - would ECU reset help redo idle? Anyway the wife is out in the ZX at moment and I've told her …

anyone know what wires I need to connect to? According to the wiring diagram: white = +12V then i need IG1 output & IG2 output, now do these correspond to the black/white & black/red wires on the back of the ignition switch? For an APEXI timer by the way..... Thanks Jon... :)

Hello there folks, I;ve checked the small print on my warranty policy and found that the turbos are only covered if they6 fail suddenly rather than by wear and tear. All this means I'm actually contemplating changing them myself. I'm not kidding myself in that I know its a mammoth job. I know its possible to do it with the engine in-situ and this is the way I'll have to try it as I don't have any way or removing the engine. Has anyone done this? Annoyed with myself more than anything as I should have checked the policy more thoroughly. Cheers. Martin.

I just replaced the rear transmission mount on my 1992 import auto n/a. The old one looked ok though, no splits in the rubber, seemed soft enough. When they deteriorate can you tell by looking at it ? Has anyone replaced theirs and the old one looked knackered ? Thanks John

Looks like i am going to have to change the front discs as they squeal constantly. I have tried everything but looks like the visa card is going to have to appear again! At present they are Brembo R33 discs, 330mm i think? What is the largest size i can get? I think i seen somewhere about 365mm discs? I will also be changing to Porterfield pads. Are the RS4's the best?

anyone hear had gurgleing sounds comeing from the n/s front wing? i spent 3 days bleeding the cooling system thinkin it was an airblock or headgasket. but it turned out 2 b some exhaust condensation valve stuck open under the wing. dont know if anyones interested 2 know that but it may save u some hassle.:D

Hi all, My clutch seems to be misbehaving and is getting worst with each day that passes. Symptoms are as follows: Serious problems putting it in first gear, no grinding of spinning cogs but it takes a lot of force and eventually clicks into place. 2nd gear is the same but only when stationary (are all the gears) when moving getting into 2nd isn't a problem, but 3rd gear crunches. Sometimes i.e. 1 out of 20, first gear will slip in without a problem. Is this a case of adjustment needed or are we looking at a new clutch or something else ?

Hey dudes, I know there already has been a post bout shocks, but it didnt answer all my quesions so wondering if anyone could help? I have a 95 TT import and it appears all the oil has come oout of one of the rear shocks :S so its bit bouncy any way im gonna replace the rear shocks. does anyone have any recommendations and where to get them from and how much roughly they cost? also will the uk spec stock shocks fit the jap spec zxs or do i need to get jap spec ones? Hi Guys, Well, those of you that know me that I have had no luck with this car and the bad luck continues. The problem would see to be with the auto gearbox, which is a UK car but has a seperate oil cooler. I went to my friends this morning and parked up which was a 2 miles drive. I went back to my car and then reversed off the drive and put the car into neutral whilst my friend pulled oof the drive. I then out the car into drive and proceeded to drive up a slight hill anout 100m and then the car seemed to just lose drive. I tried to put the car into 1st and 2nd but no difference. I then left the car for a bit and started it back up, this allowed me…

Guys, A quick straw poll....Apart from SE of course, Who would be the best bet to replace my turbos? I don't wish to start a war here, I am just canvassing opinions as I have warranty cover but only if they have failed and not worn out...! After filling in the necessary registration forms to register my newly imported jap import, i've received the tax disc through the post this morning.... But nothing else (apart from the docs I sent them ie mot). I was led to believe that once I'd receieved the tax disc (plus other docs?) I could go and get the reg plates made up so I could actually drive the vehicle rather than wait 2-3 weeks for a logbook? But the only thing I have is the tax disc? I get a sneaky suspicion that the dvla haven't sent me all that they should have :angry:. Has anyone got reg plates made up on a tax disc only? btw, who makes up the square number plates for the rear …

My Zed is 1992 and I have workshop manual on disc from Luke. Is there any point in paying £10 to get the Haynes book which is really only z31? Only a tenner but my arms are short and my pockets deep so don't like to waste money - 's nearly 3 gallons o' petrol.:rolleyes:

Hi I Have a HKS boost controller fitted to my 300zx (it was fitted in japan when i recived the car) If i disconnect the battery will i loose the parameters (settings) and have to re-programme it of will it hold this data?? Thanks Tom
