Hi everyone. When I first start my Zed I get strange noise from the power steering I think - best way to describe it is that it kind of sounds like somebody is using a strimmer a couple of streets away. Anyway, once the car has warmed up the noise goes away. Does this sound like something I should be worried about!!??... Cheers, Andy

OK, I've read a bit about painting calipers, but my new wheels are so open that you can see all the disk and hubs too. Obviously the disks are nice and shiny, but the hubs are all rusty! Is it safe to assume that I can take them off, scrub them up and spray paint them? and if so, do I need to use caliper paint, or is heat not so much of an issue?

After a long wait for a diagnosis on my car (due to the mechanic being on holiday), it is back on the road. I can't praise the mechanic enough, he gave her a full checkover at no extra charge and fixed the problem quickly. Thankfully it wasn't the turbos, just a simple split intercooler hose. Thanks to all who tried to help with the problem.

Hi All, I've finally freed up what I thought was the last restiction on my Z - had a powerflow stainless sytem grafted on by Topgear Burnley and have to say I'm impressed with it. Sounds cool and looks ridiculous (2x single 6" outlets). 'Problem' now is that I have great gobs of torque between 3K and 5K but it feels a little flat when flooring it. Dunno if it's just that the masses of torque obscure the top end power but it would be nice to have both....how can I increase the top end power now?? I don't want to lose the grunt that the car now has - it's hilarious. I had been driving it round with gaping holes in the mid section of exhaust for a while - dunno if …

Coming back from Billing yesterday I noticed that every so often my temp. gauge fluctuated from low to normal, the engine seemed slightly rough when this happened. Any ideas? Geoff.

Hi Guys I'm looking at a Zed on Ebay and have agreed a price on the car but the problem is i live in Lancs and the car is London/Essex way:confused: So if someone lives that way, i'm after a favour:) Would someone who know Zed'd well go and have a look and give me an honest view of the car, of course i will cover any expenses plus a case of stella ;) If anyone can can you please let me know. Do you think it is advisable to fit an external automatic transmission oil cooler to my import ? Even though it has made it through its 11 year life without one. So far the box seems ok, but I would like to prolong its 'death'. Which also reminds me, what were Nissan thinking of when they designed the autobox sump without a drain plug ? Thanks John

Recently i've noticed that my car is idling a little high, about 1000rpm. I thought must just be my TPS needing adjusting. Now, whenever the car is cold its an absolute pig to run, hesitating and trying to stall whenever i take my foot off the accelerator. Is my coolant sensor on its way out?

After fitting new injectors I have had a few problems to say the least. Trouble is as I did a bit of other upgrading/ repairing at same time so don't really know what is wrong. The thing I need to know is what should the car run like with larger injectors but still an SE chip for standard 370cc injectors. Thing is I have tried JWT chip set up for 555 injectors and it ran absolutely cr@p, wouldn't even idle, popped, coughed and spluttered all up road. So I put the old one back (SE). It will now idle reasonable but not brilliant and will run fine up the road. Do you guys think the injectors are not really 550cc injectors:mad: or the chip will not work in my car. …

OK so they fitted the Blitz SBC-ID boost controller etc. Now after reading the instructions i changed the boost setting to manual as it said it would not work on a tt on auto then low and behold on 25% boost I get 17.8psi the limiter does'nt cut in and i scare meself to death the trouble is it all seems to work ok on auto although i seem to have about 11psi even with the darn thing turned off any ideas? No chip yet so got a little detonation too

since coming back from billing my car feels like it is running on 5 cylinders. i took one of the coil packs off and noticed there was no carbon tip in contact with plug only a spring. do these tips wear out because there is no sign of it. this must be my problem musnt it? surely there cant be enough spark passed through a spring ? i just dont understand where it could have gone. any help or suggestions. thanks ...lee

Hi All, The turbo on the left bank of my zed appears to be dying very quickly(i believe the bearings have gone) and starting to smoke. The question is what turbos should I go for. I don't want to spend the earth but do want to upgrade from standard. The car is a uk model with performance exhaust, induction kit, boost upgrade and fast road rebuild auto gearbox. I don't want to have to modify the engine so need to know the maximum limits I should go to so I don't destroy the engine. Anyone know anywhere reliable in the midlands that I could get to fit them?? hi everyone, how do you reset the ecu fault code stored in it i had a temp senor fault shown(code 13), now ive replaced it but when i do a self diagnostic (with wire) it still shows code 13?? i disconected the ecu all night?? thanks jim.

Anyone know how the hell you get the manual gearbox back on ??? I have tried everything, going in at an angle, straight, I just can't seem to get it to go onto the spline no matter what ! Any ideas peeps as its now doing my head in ! p.s. I have 12 stitches due to it falling of the jack and slicing my hand up ! B**TARD BOX. OLLY.
