I have an import that has been uk resident for about 2 years. I have 2 previous MOT certificates from the previous owner, but... it has no front or rear fog lights. Now I've read a bit about various ways to fit fogs, but how can it be that this car has passed 2 uk MOT tests without them? - Is it a matter of interpretation or do I really have to get some fitted?

I've just paid a deposit on some new alloys (needs must) - but I hadn't realised what a minefield the whole topic was - especially as I'd like to think I could squeeze some skyline brakes behind these at some point in the future. I've ended up going for some 17" Kosei Double Racers, which are double 6 spoke affairs, but I'm really not sure how they're going to look on the car. I don't suppose anyone has these already and can send me a pickki? I also liked the OZ superleggeras, but they were £300 more, so that was the end of that then! Just a thought if there are any moderators listening - could we have a gallery for things like this - it would save oodles …

Hi folks Hopefully someone out there can help me with some of the minor problems my just purchased 1985 300ZX has. Nothing major - and she is an absolute joy. Star Wars dash - Targa top and in showroom body condition - a steal at AUD5990.00 so I am not worried about spending a few bucks on her. #1. Fuel display - Fuel gauge was indicating 2/3 full when I collected it - dropped one bar and then the low fuel light came on. There was only 20 litres in the tank when I filled it. Sender unit in fuel tank faulty? #2. Oil Pressure display - gauge is obviously working as it heads to the top on startup and then drops to and stays on zero. Sender unit need replacing…

Had my new Zed a week (1989 TT Auto import) and started to notice hot water pissing out from under the car everytime I've stopped driving. I am not loosing any water from the Rad and I've been driving the car daily with no sign of overheating..........until today. Was driving it alot harder today and when I got home my temp gauge was creeping up past the half-way mark and i saw steam coming from the bonnet. Looked underneath and sure enough, steaming water everywhere so looked under the bonnet and could see steam coming from the front of the engine (I think) behind the fan rather than from the Rad. What shall I do? Is it worth me dumping the Rad and renewing the water/coo…

on the standard boost gauge, when your booting it is the needle supposed to go right to the +7 or just before it? how do you know youre in saftey boost if youve never driven a zed before and the cars been the same since you bought it from japan?? Thanks all JIM.

Hi I needed to ask you another question about the hoses. Im gonna replace all of the hoses if i find out that the hoses are bursting. The problem being that nissan charged me £43 for 2 hoses and if i go to them again ill end up broke. Is there any1 else who can supply me with hoses who wont rip me off. And finally how much am i looking at labourwise and part wise to replace the hoses in the car roughly. Thanks again Fas (shitting himself large financially) :( :confused:

Hi All, The test for the air reg in the manual says to clamp the hose just in front of it and see if the revs drop. Problem is I just can't get at the hose immediately before the air reg/just after the IAA and the run is too short to clamp effectively anyway. I clamped it just before the IAA as this was easier to get at - sure enough revs dropped to zero. My question is: Will the test work when clamped before the IAA or will it give a false reading?? AndyDuff! Surely you must have an opinion! (PS I haven't forgotten I still owe you for wheels). Anyone got a spare Air regulator knocking around? Cheers! RobH

Hello there folks, Well my PCV valves and hoses finally arrived yesterday. I've had a look under the bonnet and I just can't see where they are !! There are a couple of threaded valves that go into the inlet manifold but the hoses look nothing like the ones that came with the valves in the post. Can anyone help or am I just going blind? Thanks. Guys Im just wondering if anyone else has ordered from them and had any problems with them. My girlfriend ordered a red shift boot, an e-brake boot and a trunk carpet with a big red Z in the middle, this was back in the middle of march. The two boots came but the carpet never did, the carpet cost her almost a weeks wages in canadian funds. After many phone calls and e-mails Steve from z-toyz said it must have been lost in the mail. Hi all Yesterday when accelerating moderately off a roundabout, my (stock) boost gauge went to 0 psi as usual but then just stuck there. Now refuses to move one bit unless ignition is switched off. Starting the car flicks it to the middle again. Car idles fine and is delivering the goods power wise. Any suggestions on what / where to check? Cheers.

Just a rough question which i needed a answer 4. how many water hoses are there at the rear of the engine bay. I had to replace 2 of the heater matrix hoses and now it has sprung another leak so im clueless. i just wanted to know what it could be and what are the chances its the heater matrix. Just cleaning the car (UK model) up ready for travelling down to bling tomorow and I notice the passenge side front wheel arch liner is a bit askew. I pulls back and notice inside is a green box. Having removed enough of the liner I pull this green box out to see it has relays in it (its damaged and cracked after previous owner had a front corner nasty!). Then one of the wires jumps out of it (big white un). Oh ########! But on examing the wire end it is corroded so hasnt been connected for donkeys years. Car is still working fine but I havent got a clue what the box is. Have looked on the Latvian and South African sites to no avail. Any one any ideas??…

I'm building with a mate an ICE install for the ZX. The problem we're facing at the moment is finding the easiest and safest way through for the power cable from battery in the engine compartment to the inside of the car. Any ideas? Thanks. Geoff.
