Right my det sensor or cable to det sensor has given up the ghost. I have done the 1Mohm trick and Im now off safety boost and boosting up to 14psi (Boost jets). These cars are bloody quick. Thing now is det sensor worry. When I replace the clutch I will have one fitted where its meant to go as its easy when gearbox is off (Ive heard) For now is it that important if car is fuelling correctly etc I know I can hole a piston etc if its detting but is there any other way of knowing without waiting for your engine to die. this seems to be a depressingly common occurance with us zed owners at the mo but...i had a crash on sunday. went on a grass verge smashed two concrete posts in half and demolised a road sign all with the drivers door. i ended up in a ditch on the other side of the road. was bloody lucky really as on my way into the ditch i went between 2 trees that were closer together then the car is long...so went through at exactly the right angle to miss them. also missed a second road sign by a few inches too. its amazing how un-touched most of the car is...but my door took all the impact of the posts and sign so is completely smashed. its moved in so far it kinda looks …

hi everyone, I know this has been done to death on here but I still carn'nt find out why? when pulling away from start my car seems to hesitate for a second then pull away, if you get the sweet spot it pull's great but if you press it to much it waits for a bit? all my conectors are clean. ive done the following. spark plugs (ngk) air filter battery fuel filter tryed moving the setting the tps replaced the pcvvs fuel cleaner cleaned throttle bodies reset ecu there no fault codes, and the car idles perfect. the only other thing I will say is the car never seems to drive the same each day, somedays its really powerfull and other days…

Hi all, does anyone know what might be wrong with the headlamp washers. The relay on the innner wing is fine, the washer motor is fine, the push switch in the car to operate the washer also seems fine. What else can i check?

Does anyone know of any really heavy duty glass polish. All my windows are slightly pitted where car was left in the rain ( not by me ). I have tried autoglym which works but it took me an hour to do a 6" square area !!!!! Think I need something stronger and an electric polisher !

How do you do an ECU test on a manual and how do you know what error code is reported. We done it on my mates Auto by moving shift and overdrive etc.

Hello to all, I am looking for some help please guys. I smacked up my car (see thread: kerb monster) on Monday 29 December 2003. My car has been taken to a garage to be fixed, and they initially have stated they will not write off the car, as it is fixable. Today I have received a call from my insurers engineer's dept. who inform me the garage where my car has been taken is not skilled enough to fix my car. "Do I know anyone who can do this?" They are looking to offer me cash to fix the car, but I need to get the car delivered to someone with the facilities and know-how to do this. Has anyone replaced most of their vacum hoses. Does anyone have a good picture of where they all are? I know I could search about like some sort of chimp in the engine bay but having something to work with would be useful. Cheers Chris

Mines faulty :( Just got it back from Jeff @ Zedworld (Top guy) and its running in safety boost. Ext Boost gauge is reading 10-11 psi boost but this is because of boost jetting. He has toild me to replace knock sensor but fit it onto one of the 2 tall studs at back of engine as it will still pick up detonation. Has anyone else done this. The alternative is a 1MOhm resistor to fool the ECU (not a good idea coz then it wont pick up det at all), or spend £700 removing plenum, pipes etc Alos the fuel pressure switch is faulty so Im off to get on off them too. Car is stupidly fast and Ive been told it'll be even faster when knock sensor is done. Just wonderin…

been getting an intermittant high idle which goes if I stop and start the car, so I thought about checking the TPS voltage through my AVC-R. When idling properly (around 750rpm) it show .44V, checked it ealrier when it was mucking about abit and it was nearer 0.47V.\ Question, should the TPS by constant while idling, or would it fluctuate with rpm if something else is causing it? Just checking before I go scrub the connectors, as I have a feeling TPS should be constant if foot is off the Loud peddle. Cheers guys. Hi, I would just like to know how easy it is to change the oil in the Zed. I am fed up of paying through the nose for oil changes from my local garage and it would surely save a load of cash if I was to do it myself. Is the filter in a tricky place baring in mind I would have to be under the car on my back as I only have axle stands? Cheers, Justin

Help! :cry: My aerial is fupped.....it won't come up and it's all plugged in and stuff as it should be, so the signal is not the best for all stations!! However, I don't want it to come up now as I would rather it was smoothed over by ther body shop!!! I do need an aerial to on the Z that works, and I really would like one of those other types that goes around your rear screen/windscreen, i.e. somewhere else but not obvious, anyone got any idea where I could obtain such an aerial?? Help, no sounds is driving me nuts!! Matty.

Can anyone confirm if there is any difference between UK and Jap rear shocks apart from the stiffness actuators on the top. My mate has a UK car and is thinking of putting Jap shocks on it because of price. Thanks Vijay

Both of my import zeds have had really lazy seatbelt retraction. I guess there is something that can be done about that but what I (and some of my passengers) have noticed is that when I turn off the ignition the seatbelts pull back slightly. Cant think why that would be. Anybody else noticed this? Anyone know why? Anybody care? :rolleyes: David

Hi, I am keeping the NA loom, on my NA to TT conversion! Since the NA does not have the PRVR system, I was wondering if this would cause a problem with the TT ECU looking for, and not finding the PRVR system, and not giving it some sort of a signal?

Just put a re-core rad in my car. Filled it up (with the engine off), then started the engine and put the blower on full - waiting for the level to drop, so i could top it up. Thing is the level aint dropped! Is this ok? The hater is blowing hot air, and the water in the rad and on the temp gauge is getting hot as it should, but last time i did it (old radiator), it took hours of topping up to get it to hold the water level! Sorry bout all these questions - had a few things go wrong at once!

im looking to upgrade engine and gearbox coolers on jap spec tt! would a z centre upgrade where the engine cooler is then used for the gearbox be ok if im looking to run 350 to 400 BHP any help gratefully recieved!
