Been out on the p1ss all weekend so not done much this week. Took the crank to the machine shop where Middlehurst send their Skyline stuff during the week. It didn't need regrinding and a quick polish sorted it out. They also supplied a full set of ACL bearings (main and big end). £120 for the bearings and the work. I've just put the crank back in today as I'm off work. I'm also waiting for all the extra gaskets, seals, etc which I overlooked and had to order from Middlehurst. They should arrive on Wednesday morning so I'm hoping to get the engine back in this weekend. It's going to be tight and I'm still waiting for a few other bits and pieces from other suppli…

If the car seems to be sliding left and right when hitting bumps I know it can be either rear hicas worn or suspension. How do I test which it is? Do I just jack up back of car and see if wheel moves left to right for hicas? ta

All, Well, I aint gonna go on about the amount of problems I have had as you all probably are bored of that, me too!!!! Now, remember I went on about losing water, well, last night I was drivign from Grantham to Melton, about 15 miles and when I got into Melton the car wouldnt change gear and then stalled. I stopped, noticed lots of smoke from the bonnet so I popped it and loads of smoke bellowed out. The car had finalyl decided to drop all the water and the car has overheated, and cus I was drivign at about 70mph and had my stereo on I couldnt hear anything prior to getting to Melton. The car then wouldnt start and sounded very poorly, slow turning... …

Is there a technique for disconnecting the connectors to sensors in the engine bay? The ones I'm thinking of are the ones with the bit of wire round them like the ECU temp sensor connector - that I broke yesterday :( Decided not to have a go at the PTU one until I found out! Cheers David

Set up my Profec to measure MAF volatge, so I can try to get estimates for TP expansion on mapping. Problem is, mine seems to run around 1.1v at idle and I'm sure I read somewhere the spec was ~0.5v! Anyone enlighten me? I'll double check it through the week with a voltmeter, but there's no reason to assume it's not accurate.

Has anyone ever found anywhere where you can get replacement connectors for the wiring harness. E.g. injector connectors, etc. I fancy replacing a lot of the wiring but I'm buggered if I'm paying hundreds of pounds for a Nissan replacement. It's only a few connectors and some wire! Are they proprietary Nissan connectors or could something to replace them be sourced elsewhere?

hi everyone, to the people who've helped me over the past few days, a bigthank you to all! ive checked the timing today with a quality tester (inductive one) off number 1 lead and it's near spot on 15 degrees! I have no air locks! running standard boost TPS is spot on running on optimax for 4 months. (tt auto 91) changed plugs to prf6b11 and tryed prf6b11c on removel of plugs each cylinder seemed to have very tiny metal filings in there (used magnetic screw driver) I can hear what seems to be a slight rattle on boost at about 2500/4000 revs the car dos'nt go into saftey boost everytime (now and agian) but i do sometimes get a …

I was just wondering who has the most powerful beat on here. I have heard that 51X is running 1000 bhp, is this true? If so then I wonder what all that must have cost! More than my life is worth I would imagine! Justin :)

Well once again the car wont start, after replacing my head gasket about 5 month ago the car wouldnt start, after about a week of pissing about with this and that it started up and has run 100% up until now. It started first time every time, but going to work the other night I started it up and started to pull off but the revs dropped off and it cut out, I thought it was just cold as its stalled before on me but nooooooo it now wont start at all...back to how it was 5 month ago! Ive cleaned/played with/plugged and unplugged every connection known to man! I took the plugs out earlier and they were fueled up due to excessive cranking so i baked them, I took the fuel filter …

I replace all the fuel lines (even the short hard to get at ones) with high pressure fuel line (soon I will replace the 2 long ones with the steel braided stuff) and the petrol smell so far has gone. I friend of mine did say that jubilee clips should not be used on fuel lines, instead use those solid metal clips that wrap around the pipe 100% of the area, giving a better compression. What do you think ? Thanks John

I need help, i mean help. I lost control of my 300Zx TT :x: , i don't really want to go into details, because i'm not proud of it :nelson: . But i got really lucky and went into various bushes but caused no real damage to the car. But the car will not run properly any more, theirs no throttle response (it won't go faster than 10mph and then the engine stalls), it blows black smoke out of the exhaust. The revs idle between 400 to 1700. It is over fuelling and i don't know why, i looked to see if there is anything obvious but everything seems in-tacked. I done a diagnostic to the ecu, a fault came up on the temperature sensor, changed that but made no differen…

A friend of mine has a 1991 Jap spec Z32. His car wont go into third, 1st and second is fine. I said its prolly a solonoid fooked, but we wanted to do the diagnostic check to see if it showed anything. We tried doing the same gear box test as works on mine and can't do it cause the car wont go into drive etc with the ignition off, also if we apply the brake that dont work cause the ignotion has to be on to power the gear lock thingy (technical I know lol). So anyways, how the **** do you do it on a jap car? I have searched TT net, various Z clubs accross diff countries and can't find anything? itsd not in any of the service manuals I've found either? A…

Rigged up my Conzult today for a play , everything seems to be running fine although I have a question regarding the 02 sensor voltage, on tickover the left one is running at 0.82 volts and the right at 0.68 volts , so I rev the car to 2krpm and they both bob about lean rich, lean rich, as they should although left runs higher than the right at its highest voltage , any body know what they should be running at on tickover , I have had a dig around and I think it's supposed to be around 0.33volts is this correct ??? Also took it for a spin to see what the injector duty was at 14.5psi .....102% so have backed it off a little to 13.5% and will give it another …

Hello :) When starting up my car, already warm, a few seconds into idle I often hear a metallic clunk followed by rattling, like a metal cable vibrating against something also metal. The noise comes from under the centre of the car. Any ideas what this could be? Handbrake cable maybe? It goes away after you start moving. Cheers Pete
