Do those grounding kits actually improve anything ? I mean, if you dont have a good ground, you would be having problems wouldnt you ? Anyone fitted one and noticed an improvement ? Cheers John

My first driving experience in the snow with the Z, and I almost got stuck in snow at the Asda car park. Even pulling away in second, no traction whatsoever, and we have less than an 1" of snow. Maybe 2 50lb. sandbags in the boot, one over each wheel would help.

I have only had my Zed for a few days and it all seems to run lovely apart from a suspect wheel bearing. I thought I should have a look at the buyers guide on this site (link below) and according to it I have compession problems:( http://www.300zx.co.uk/tech/BuyingZ.htm On the buying guide it mentions that if the needle on the boost guage is not on the far right of the guage on idle then I have problems with the compression. The needle on my guage is in about the same position as the bad guage in the buyers guide. Mine for some reason is only showing -7 and +7 psi whilst the one in the guide is showing 14. Is this because mine is an import? Can anyon…

Hi Thought I would try out the 1st gear only position on the Autobox for a bit of fun. When I put it in first from standstill it seemed a LOT faster than when pulling away in drive. I have tried this half a dozen times and it is allways quicker when in '1' rather than 'D'. As posted before I have had problems with hesitation and top end performance. :( Cheers

  11. I have done a search on this and what I have found seems to be very vague. I really don't want my new pride and joy rusting with all this salt on the road so I really need to know if they are undersealed or not. My mum bought an FTO once and was told that it was as automatic a thing to do with imports as sticking a fog light on. Does anyone know for certain? Thanks, Justin:)

At the moment the actuators pick up from halfway down the boost pipe! I have got rid of the aiv/egr system that picks up from by the throttle body, and was thinking of resiting the actuator pick up to the throttle body to make it slightly more responsive! Any thoughts?

Some crunchy rattly-type noises are coming from my front drivers-side wheel area when I go over bumps- especially (but not exclusivlely) when the car is cold- although there is a bit of a clunk over bad bumps. Is this likely to be suspension bushes, suspension arms?, springs?, or could it possibly be any one of a number of things? My washer tank is leaking at this side and it gets a bit wet down there, could this affect things? Looks like I have a few 'little' jobs need doing. Of course, they won't end up little will they...

I was careless going round a tight corner, scraped the rear passengers side wheel then went over the kerb a bit. Am I likely to have done any damage? I keep reading about people who have slid and hit the wheel and done bad damage. Will a 'light' scraping at an odd angle mean I need the wheels tracking or something? or is it only the front that needs it? Back with another clueless question!!

Hi, I finaly picked up my first ever Zed on Saturday and I love it. It goes like poo off a shovel! I have one thing annoying me though and that is this wurring (if that is how you spell it!) sound. It is not very apparent when going slow or when you really put your foot down but for normal driving it is getting on my nerves. My mate who was with me reckons it is worn wheel bearings. Could it be anything else? Justin

  20. Started by Jonno,

Hi, I have a set of 5 spoke 17" alloys that came with my car. They look like a Ferrari copy of some description. They had O.Z centres on them but I have seen identical wheels referred to on this forum as Modena autostrada. The question is did O.Z make a wheel like that. If not has some dodgy bloke stuck O.Z centres on someone elses wheel? Does anyone know where I might get one of these mysterious wheels from (front). Mine has a very slight buckle in it that won't quite balance out. Although bizarrely there is no cosmetic damage. I can only assume they got bent whilst I was driving near the sun.....or something :smw: Jonno.

HELP...........PLEASE I was driving home in my 1992 Nissan ZX TT auto (UK Car) and went to drive uphill onto a sliproad. Suddenly the ABS and HICAS lights came on and the steering became very heavy. I pulled over and tried to re-set the "fault" by switching off the ignition and attempted to re-start the car. This I could not do and my car had to be towed back to my house. The AA engineer thought it was my alarm/ immobiliser but this was checked and found to be working correctly. Other people have said it may be the auto transmission inhibitor switch, the speed sensor, the started motor. All very good suggestions but where do I start. My car is currently of the road an…

Does anybody have a list of wheel manufacturer and types for the 300ZX tt. I am ringing round shops to be told I can only fit 8 types of wheel to these without any modifications. I like the AZEV As but may need arches rolling. Is there a website where you can select your car then just show what wheels are available without trolling through loads of wheels. I've looked on ZCentre but am looking for more options. Cheers

Just read this in a check list document in another post... I've just had to replace my nearside rear wheel bearing. If I'd damaged an ABS sensor would I know about it from warning lights? Would it just be obvious? Cheers David
