I just bought a 300zx ('99, Jap, N/A). I wondered what fuels to use. The dealer who told me said he thought super unleaded. I can get regular unleaded now and then through work very cheaply. Any idea if it'd damage the car using regular unleaded? Can I use an octane booster with regular unleaded? Thanks guys ps. the car is great; love it!

I lost the wheel nuts, I need to replace the steering rack to pass MOT, but unfortunately I can do nothing without the nuts, does anyone know what I gonna do? Also I tried to contact the manufacturer of my 18" wheel, but it seems no one heard about it, I can't even find anything on the web. Please give me a advise, as I am so worried about it. OK - I would appear to need two new shocks for the back of my car. Jap Spec 1990, any suggestions as to what to fit? Standard Nissan or after market ones.

Hi, I am thinking about getting some larger injectors but know nothing much about them. Does the different stages of tuning have anything to do with what size you go for. If I say just had a boost upgrade, zorst and induction would 720cc be pointless? Would 550cc make more sense? Also, how difficult are they to fit? Is it a garage job and in which case tehn how much are they likely to want to put them in for me? Cheers, Justin

as above, done this to my rx7 i imported, but will need to do to 300zx now so does anyone have any tips, diagrams .. photo's etc.. of them doing the job as i broke some things on the rx7 when i did it!! :( coming v soon so help appreciated :) Matt

Hi- can anyone please tell me- are there any differences between the above?I'm thinking about getting some S/S downpipes and decat pipes from US but I'm unsure if they will fit my jap TT Leonard

in 5th gear under WOT at around 4000rpm my car will occasionally drop about 300rpm to around the 3700 mark and acceleration will start to pick up once more, surely my clutch isn't slipping? it seems fine in other gears, it is really confusing me now as to what could be causing it. You can actually hear the engine note change so its not a dodgy tach.

I have had my car for coming up to a year and I have also over 300 psts on here but I still dont know what half these abbreviations mean. TPS = ? AFM = (Guess) Air Flow Meter Any more?!?!?!!? :nelson:

:mad: Can anyone help? I have the standard bose stereo fitted to my 300zx (1 cd, 1 tape & 3 mini cd), All standard speakers. When i play a cd in the morning when everything is cold their is just no sound at all?, then after about 5minutes it will start crackling in the drivers side speaker. After about another 5minutes the sound will then clear its self progressivly over time? WEARD HEY??? Then the drivers side will start to do the same. So it takes a good half hour before all the sound comes through????, After this its fine for about 2hours, then it will go really quite and the volume has to be on max to get a half decent volume out?????? Been out on the p1ss all weekend so not done much this week. Took the crank to the machine shop where Middlehurst send their Skyline stuff during the week. It didn't need regrinding and a quick polish sorted it out. They also supplied a full set of ACL bearings (main and big end). £120 for the bearings and the work. I've just put the crank back in today as I'm off work. I'm also waiting for all the extra gaskets, seals, etc which I overlooked and had to order from Middlehurst. They should arrive on Wednesday morning so I'm hoping to get the engine back in this weekend. It's going to be tight and I'm still waiting for a few other bits and pieces from other suppli…

Anyone care to illuminate me as to the symptoms this would produce? i.e erratic running, detonation, flat spots, inability to get the car running right for more than 2 minutes at a time :rolleyes: Ho hum.

need to buy throttle position sensor for a 91 n/a, do all the Nissan main dealers charge the same for parts or like the servicing costs do they vary a great deal. also is there any where else to buy these parts apart from main dealers

hi all jumped in my z today no blinking dash lights i,ve checked the appropriate fuse for the dash and that was ok even changed it still the same so i then changed the pod still won,t come on so i,ve run out of ideas where to look now any of you guys know of what may be wrong cully z :)

If the car seems to be sliding left and right when hitting bumps I know it can be either rear hicas worn or suspension. How do I test which it is? Do I just jack up back of car and see if wheel moves left to right for hicas? ta

All, Well, I aint gonna go on about the amount of problems I have had as you all probably are bored of that, me too!!!! Now, remember I went on about losing water, well, last night I was drivign from Grantham to Melton, about 15 miles and when I got into Melton the car wouldnt change gear and then stalled. I stopped, noticed lots of smoke from the bonnet so I popped it and loads of smoke bellowed out. The car had finalyl decided to drop all the water and the car has overheated, and cus I was drivign at about 70mph and had my stereo on I couldnt hear anything prior to getting to Melton. The car then wouldnt start and sounded very poorly, slow turning... …

Is there a technique for disconnecting the connectors to sensors in the engine bay? The ones I'm thinking of are the ones with the bit of wire round them like the ECU temp sensor connector - that I broke yesterday :( Decided not to have a go at the PTU one until I found out! Cheers David

Set up my Profec to measure MAF volatge, so I can try to get estimates for TP expansion on mapping. Problem is, mine seems to run around 1.1v at idle and I'm sure I read somewhere the spec was ~0.5v! Anyone enlighten me? I'll double check it through the week with a voltmeter, but there's no reason to assume it's not accurate.

Anyone know the best place to get Redline MT90 from? And I make it 3.1 litres of the stuff to fill the gearbox up is that right?

Has anyone ever found anywhere where you can get replacement connectors for the wiring harness. E.g. injector connectors, etc. I fancy replacing a lot of the wiring but I'm buggered if I'm paying hundreds of pounds for a Nissan replacement. It's only a few connectors and some wire! Are they proprietary Nissan connectors or could something to replace them be sourced elsewhere?
