hi everyone, to the people who've helped me over the past few days, a bigthank you to all! ive checked the timing today with a quality tester (inductive one) off number 1 lead and it's near spot on 15 degrees! I have no air locks! running standard boost TPS is spot on running on optimax for 4 months. (tt auto 91) changed plugs to prf6b11 and tryed prf6b11c on removel of plugs each cylinder seemed to have very tiny metal filings in there (used magnetic screw driver) I can hear what seems to be a slight rattle on boost at about 2500/4000 revs the car dos'nt go into saftey boost everytime (now and agian) but i do sometimes get a …

I was just wondering who has the most powerful beat on here. I have heard that 51X is running 1000 bhp, is this true? If so then I wonder what all that must have cost! More than my life is worth I would imagine! :dance: Justin :)

Guys seems like me water pumps leaking and grinding something rotten :( So for those of you in the know, is it a case of removing the viscous fan/crank pulley, inlet pipes, cam covers, then hey presto remove pump and fit new one ?? anything else i need to do to do it ? got a little bit of panic on as am on the ferry over to mainland 6am on Friday ! Oh if anyones got a spare new pump sitting round in their garden shed, can i borrow, beg or buy if my main dealer ain't got one ? please Smithy :cool:

Well once again the car wont start, after replacing my head gasket about 5 month ago the car wouldnt start, after about a week of pissing about with this and that it started up and has run 100% up until now. It started first time every time, but going to work the other night I started it up and started to pull off but the revs dropped off and it cut out, I thought it was just cold as its stalled before on me but nooooooo it now wont start at all...back to how it was 5 month ago! Ive cleaned/played with/plugged and unplugged every connection known to man! I took the plugs out earlier and they were fueled up due to excessive cranking so i baked them, I took the fuel filter …

I replace all the fuel lines (even the short hard to get at ones) with high pressure fuel line (soon I will replace the 2 long ones with the steel braided stuff) and the petrol smell so far has gone. I friend of mine did say that jubilee clips should not be used on fuel lines, instead use those solid metal clips that wrap around the pipe 100% of the area, giving a better compression. I need help, i mean help. I lost control of my 300Zx TT :x: , i don't really want to go into details, because i'm not proud of it :nelson: . But i got really lucky and went into various bushes but caused no real damage to the car. But the car will not run properly any more, theirs no throttle response (it won't go faster than 10mph and then the engine stalls), it blows black smoke out of the exhaust. The revs idle between 400 to 1700. It is over fuelling and i don't know why, i looked to see if there is anything obvious but everything seems in-tacked. I done a diagnostic to the ecu, a fault came up on the temperature sensor, changed that but made no differen…

Anyone replaced the front suspension upper link bushes (from inner wing to strut) recently, who does the bushes seperate and prices. I have a few prices from some of the traders on here, anyone found anywhere else that does the bushes seperate. Cheers John Crisp

A friend of mine has a 1991 Jap spec Z32. His car wont go into third, 1st and second is fine. I said its prolly a solonoid fooked, but we wanted to do the diagnostic check to see if it showed anything. We tried doing the same gear box test as works on mine and can't do it cause the car wont go into drive etc with the ignition off, also if we apply the brake that dont work cause the ignotion has to be on to power the gear lock thingy (technical I know lol). So anyways, how the **** do you do it on a jap car? I have searched TT net, various Z clubs accross diff countries and can't find anything? itsd not in any of the service manuals I've found either? Rigged up my Conzult today for a play , everything seems to be running fine although I have a question regarding the 02 sensor voltage, on tickover the left one is running at 0.82 volts and the right at 0.68 volts , so I rev the car to 2krpm and they both bob about lean rich, lean rich, as they should although left runs higher than the right at its highest voltage , any body know what they should be running at on tickover , I have had a dig around and I think it's supposed to be around 0.33volts is this correct ??? Also took it for a spin to see what the injector duty was at 14.5psi .....102% :shock: so have backed it off a little to 13.5% and will give it another …

Hello :) When starting up my car, already warm, a few seconds into idle I often hear a metallic clunk followed by rattling, like a metal cable vibrating against something also metal. The noise comes from under the centre of the car. Any ideas what this could be? Handbrake cable maybe? It goes away after you start moving. Cheers Pete

Ive just checked my timming and on tick over, its reads its at 10 degrees? should this be 15? and should I adjust it to that, do you turn it anti clockwise or clockwise to advance? many thanks for any help Jim.

help needed please guys - all suggestions welcome. on full throttle the boost rises to a tadge over 1 bar and then falls back to .8 of a bar. I cannot get a constant 1 bar boost. i thought it might be a problem with the boost controller (profec e-01) so tried setting up the boost manually. Even on 100% duty cycle it still couldnt hold 1 bar. Disconnected all inputs to the wastegates (done under very controlled conditions) and still not a constant 1 bar. 1 more symptom - the above boost characteristics are in 3 gear the boost pick up is smooth it just cannot hold 1 bar. boost in 1st and 2nd gear is much worse it feels like it is holding back all the …

Hi, Just before having the car serviced I started hearing the odd squeal whilst braking, had the garage take a look - they said pads were ok and cleaned the discs.. Now a couple of months later - it squeals just about every time I brake.. Dont know alot about the brakes - any ideas what i should be looking at, I think it is one of the front brakes... Hi, My Zed is due to be collected from docks at Southampton after laying stagment for the past 4 months due to shipping delays back in Japan etc. I have been told by someone that it would be really bad to drive the car too much after all this time. Somthing about the coolant going stale etc. Therefore I am in need of a decent place to take my new pride and joy to for a bloody good service. I will may also need a cambelt done depending on what the service history (if I have any) says. Anyone know a decent place in the South East or surrounding areas. I've managed to use my trolley jack to raise my Zed onto axle stands. However, when I got under there I realised I had not used the correct lifting point (despite using the online manual :rolleyes: ) The section I have used was not badly damaged but there are a few pressure marks and indentations :( (see attached pic). Can anyone tell me what I've damaged and if there are any possible implications? CheerZ Steve

My Auto NA keeps stalling every, it seems to occur when the engine is warm and i am going down a hill or slope with my foot off the gas. Once i restart it seems fine until the next time i take the car out. I have clean the carb an the tps and most of the usual things but it still seems to occur. Any ideas??

I have a na 91 auto which is idling at 2K this symptom comes and goes also the box is not changing up properly and I am getting a flashing power light. The diagnostics I think are pointing towards a throttle position sensor, would a faulty tps account for both problems, the auto box problem also has come and gone over the last week. Is there a technical page where I can view the tps setup + test procedure. Apart from cleaning all the contacts is there any other servicable parts on a tps or is it a case of just junking it. many thanx

Evening Chaps A conversation with a tuner about fitting electronic boost control the other day suggested to me that my stock fuel pump in my z isn't up to the job and I will be running lean at 14psi. What do you think? I've not got bigger injectors - I'm not really planning to go above 14psi at this moment in time either. Thanks!

I have detonation all of a sudden in my jap import tt jap import, im running optimax with jap plugs, it sound's quite bad! I seem to be getting it and a code 34, would changing the plugs to uk one's make a difference. (standard boost) what can I do my good friends?? need help! Jim :cry:
