It has turned in to a nightmare. My budget is up to £1000 for wheels and tyres. if anyone has wheels like these on there car could you tell me the make and model and where they came from. thanks.

I've heared that on the jap-spec cars there is a warning alarm when you go over a certain speed - is this correct? Is it the same as the tone you hear when you leave the headlighs on? Reason I ask - I haven't got that on my car, but recently, especially when I rag the car a bit when it's wet, it starts to beep at me with the headlight warning tone (at between 30 and 60 mph). It's intermittent (once a week if that), and only beeps for about 10 seconds each time. Is this the speed warning tone? If so, I'll disconnect it. Any ideas guys? Also, the car's a `90 jap spec - it has a warning beep on the reverse gear too (different tone to the one outlined above) Is that stan…

hi lads bought a z32 a couple of months ago (93 TT UK) and been browsing your posts for the past few weeks. (too shy to post) Ive done a searce and nobody seems to b mentioning which GRADE of oil they use or is recommended?? I bought some 5/30 Castrol Magnetic at the weekend but later on realised that on my last car had to replace the turbo due to using thinner oil. My mechanic said that the 5/30s thinner oil had washed up the deposits in the engine and this caused the turbo to be danaged (£580 full recon unit) thinking about taking it back and swapping for 10/40s magnetic plenty of time as waiting for the rest of the parts to arrive that I ordered…

The Greddy Profec B-spec II is a small and relatively inexpensive boost controller and can be bought for as little as US$300. I bought mine from Boost Solutions when they were on special for US$299. The unit is either black or blue in colour and is about 8cm wide, 8cm deep and 2cm high. This small size allows the unit to be conveniently fitted almost anywhere. On the left of the unit are two small chrome push buttons one above the other. The top button switches between two presets and by holding the button in for two seconds turns the unit off (or on). The lower button (mode) cycles through the configuration screens. In the centre is the LCD display screen and on the…

hi there, i've just become the proud owner of a 94 uk zx; something I have been dreaming of for many years. In general I have been driving round with a big stupid grin on my face for about seven weeks now. In fact to only thing to wipe the smile away, is the lack of in-car heat at 5.30 in the morning; can anyone let me know if this is a common thing with the 300zx, or should I be looking to get it sorted. cheers Nigel

Right my det sensor or cable to det sensor has given up the ghost. I have done the 1Mohm trick and Im now off safety boost and boosting up to 14psi (Boost jets). These cars are bloody quick. Thing now is det sensor worry. When I replace the clutch I will have one fitted where its meant to go as its easy when gearbox is off (Ive heard) For now is it that important if car is fuelling correctly etc I know I can hole a piston etc if its detting but is there any other way of knowing without waiting for your engine to die. Car has just been checked, tuned and setup by conzult. I looked on TT website for alternative locations of DET sensor but th…

this seems to be a depressingly common occurance with us zed owners at the mo but...i had a crash on sunday. went on a grass verge smashed two concrete posts in half and demolised a road sign all with the drivers door. i ended up in a ditch on the other side of the road. was bloody lucky really as on my way into the ditch i went between 2 trees that were closer together then the car is long...so went through at exactly the right angle to miss them. also missed a second road sign by a few inches too. its amazing how un-touched most of the car is...but my door took all the impact of the posts and sign so is completely smashed. its moved in so far it kinda looks …

Hi - please be kind, this is my first post :-) I have Japanese import 300ZX Fairlady, 1991. I would be the first to admit I know nothing about cars, have just loved driving it for the last 6 years! I suddenly have a cutting out problem that I am having trouble getting diagnosed and wonder if any of you have heard of before? I have spent half hour or so searching here for info but not really sure what I should be looking for. Engine starts normally, then after several minutes everything cuts out dead (happens whether driving or engine is just idling) - engine stalls and all ignition lights go off. Although I can turn the ignition back on immediately, the eng…

Hello to all, I am looking for some help please guys. I smacked up my car (see thread: kerb monster) on Monday 29 December 2003. My car has been taken to a garage to be fixed, and they initially have stated they will not write off the car, as it is fixable. Today I have received a call from my insurers engineer's dept. who inform me the garage where my car has been taken is not skilled enough to fix my car. "Do I know anyone who can do this?" They are looking to offer me cash to fix the car, but I need to get the car delivered to someone with the facilities and know-how to do this. I would obviously like to do this as locally to me as possible. (Hemel Hem…
