Has anybody else had problems with the fiddly little clips that attatch the wiper motor to the bars that move the Wiper arms? It was my fault they origionally broke (didn't think to free the blades in thick ice) but now the b*ggers won't work. On a related note, is any body else having trouble getting bits from Nissan (i.e. the little clips)? There seems to be a bit of bother getting stuff, and this is even though I know both a Mechanic and the Service Manager at the local dealership very well. Oh well, gives me an excuse to go to the pub. :duffer:

Unfortunately, as of this afternoon my passenger door does not want to open from the inside. Opens fine from outside & locks OK, so I'm thinking there is a cable of some sort which has come off or broken. Is there a cable inside connecting handle to lock, and if so how easy is it to get to? Cheers.

After nearly 6 years, I'm ready for a change and seriously considering selliing my Z for a 2000 tuscan. As some of you will know I've been around here a while (since 98 I think..on the old forum). My car is quite an early one (89), but is pretty mint. pearl yellow, 17" yoko avs alloys, stainless system and apart from that pretty standard. milage is about 75K (once adjusted since first 60 was in Km). It's been pretty reliable over that time. Nothing major. Latest thing being a faulty temp sensor. It had a new clutch and 4 new tyres last year. It's had new water pipes, new radiator and new water pump. I've always had it well serviced, first 3 yea…

Folks, When I start my TT from cold, on a coldish day, I've noticed that I get quite a lot more condensation coming out of the offside exhaust pipes than the nearside ones. The engine sounds fine and it seems to be as strong as ever. There's no significant blowing from the zorst. There's no blue smoke and the condensation fumes go away after a bit. Should I be worried? Any ideas what might be wrong? Let me know what you think, Russ.

Can anyone put me in touch with a good Z mechanic who is close to either Reading or Slough. I have one small job to do and need a few other things checking out.

I'm getting my diff front oil seal replaced, but the chap says I need my Pinion flange, or propshaft flange (?) replaced. Nissan UK can't get any until 21st April! Which means nearly a month Zedless  1) What is it ? 2) Anyone tell me a part no for a 1991 UK Manual? 3) Where can I get one at shorter notice than that? Cheers, Matt.

I'm looking for a stage two JWT chip for when I have my engine rebuilt and Hybeadised tubs fitted. Will be doing the other bits too, injectors, pistons, conrods, manifolds, Rad, intercoolers, New wiring harness etc. I've already mortgaged my sole with the Devil to pay for it.

switched the car on this morning to park it on the curb so the alarm fitters could work on it and there was a quite loud ticking from the engine bay. these things always seem to magically happen overnight cos i took it out yesterday night n it was running fine! the ticking speeds up as the revs increase but when i lift the bonnet i cant make out where its coming from cos th engine is louder than the ticking. took it to the bank and it kinda quietens down after a bit of a drive but il have to check again later to make sure. any ideas? yaseen

Hi fellas started the engine out, rebuild process over the weekend, anyway, got a bit of a problem after working on the car for a while, i decided to take the centre panel off, and to my horror this is what I saw! something had managed to get through the bumper, and slam into the oil cooler at great speed!! cooler was 3 inch BACK from where is should be, bent the top bar that it bolts too and crumpled all the bottom mount, sqaushed the pipes that sit there and kinked all the piping :( with this in mind, if flow was interrupted or even stopped, how much damage would that have made to the engine internals? (bear in mind a rod bearing has already gone!). …

What type of paint can i use on the engine block? and will also be ok to use on the timing belt covers and balance bar? Cheers ;)

Can detonation occur when idling from cold? The reason i ask is because i am trying to solve a engine rattle that fits the description used by many for detonation (stones being shaken in a bean can). Its quite loud and rises and fall with the rev's until the engine is really hot.

And a road-kill - me... By a black M5, sorry! [hangs head in shame] Was on a moorland road - after two yumps I decided discretion was the better part of valour and slowed down rather than overtake the next car. He went straight past both of us on a blind bend - so I might have lost out but I'm considerably more likely to stay alive in order to enjoy the car some more! (Erm, and I think it would have been the end of my relationship if I'd pushed any harder LOL) They must have cracking suspension on them though, he didn't seem to be struggling to stay on the road at all...

Ellesmere Port town centre yest (Sat) 2ish in the arvo... AdamR took me for a spin in the gay car, gay car, gay-car and we spotted a dark Z (either black or the dark grey) - looked pretty modded, anthracite wheels! Mmm... anthracite... AND On the way back same day - back road across the tops between Belmont and Bromley Cross (foot of Winter Hill) - saw half a dozen S2000s followed by a chap in a 350Z metallic blue. Not a good road for two wide-track monsters to meet on, let alone 6, the black S2000 was definitely a bit marginal!

Hi all. New to Z ownership by a few weeks and loving it. Does anyone have any experience in supercharging a 300ZX? I know its gonna be expensive. Any comments or suggestions appreciated...EXCEPT "you should have bought a TT"..blah blah.. ;) I have: 1991 import N/A, induction kit, de-catted stainless exhaust. Dont know exact spec cos still checking it out. oh and pretty red nobbly bits covering the bolts on the engine.

:hyper: bagged a veilside kitted supra on the way back from the royal oak today. beat him to 60 then had to slow down for cars/speed camera. once i slowed down for the camera he kept on going. gave him a flash to warn him. the least i could do. i guess he'll be telling his mates he raced a zed today and wasted me. doesn't matter. i know the truth

Help...! I’ve recently had trouble getting my Z to start (especially when warm), but now I can start it it sounds and behave very sick. The idle is very low and engine seems to splutter, and only a very gentle pick up, although definitely not enough to move the car. I’ve done ECU and get 11, crank angle sensor, but not consistently, sometimes it comes back all clear (I have tried disconnecting battery a couple of times and starting again.) I had a go at cleaning the reconnecting the clip to the crank sensor, but this seems not to have done anything. Is there anyway of testing out the sensor without having to buy a new one ?? Any help, or other suggestions …
