I think I've seen a total of 3 other zeds in Jersey apart from mine. Anyone from Jersey on these boards? If so, maybe we should have an inaugural meet of the Jersey Z Chapter.

Help! It has siezed solid, I've got a mechanic looking at it who has no experience of Zeds... :( Any1 any ideas what I should do from here? Should I go for a rebuild? or should I try and source another engine? Maybe go for a rebore & forged pistons or gawd knows (i.e. try to make the best of a bad situation and get the engine beefed up with better bits) Anyone know a good zed mechanic in Gloucestershire? i'm fairly near Cheltenham. Any help would be much appreciated..

...is that one of the turbos is gubbed and my compression problem is due to failed valves. so, options are: replace the gubbed turbo with a standard new one; replace both turbos with standard new ones; replace both turbos with stage 1 new ones; repalce both turbos with stage 2 new ones... :) Car already has HKS EVC-IV boost controller and Central 20 ROM, if I go for Stage 2, what else might I need, and what likely power should I be looking at?

Do you still have to 'run in' an aftermarket ECU for 200 miles or so? I know with the stock one it re-learns everything but is it the same with uprated ECU's? With my old JWT ECU there didn't appear to be much difference in the running of the car over 200 miles after a reset, and i'm getting a new one off Chris@Greddy(cheers mate :D ) and was wondering if someone could take it for a test drive the day i put it in.

So after many seperate diagnosis of my car smoking a bit on deccel after high boost, here's what I found; Two local engine tuners said turbo seals Nissan said Stem Seals Two other mechanics said stem seals Turbotech*** said crank case breather system or tubbies three people have said PCV valves specifically So what I have found out is **** ALL!!! Whats the point in trying to get yur car fixed when even so call trained mechanics can't make their god damn minds up!!!!!!!! So far, taken IC's off, some traces of wet oil on passenger side IC dont know if this is normal, I would think not, also passenger side tubby to IC hose was wet with oil, driver side…

I am having a look at the handbook to see what I should get done as a service. I have had the car 6 months, and had the oil changed and break pads checked etc, but I just wondered what should be in a 'full service' ? When should the gear oil be changed? and how is that done? is it different from the engine oil? The car has just done 26k miles and is due for another oil change. What else do I need to make sure is done. It's had the cambelt changed. Fuel filter yet? I just don't know if I should trust what it says in the handbook.

i hope danny/stuart reads this cos he will probably be able to explain my problem to you alot better than i will attempt to. big thanks to danny for running a conzult on my car at th meet last weekend, amazing bit of kit. all seems fine apart from lazy O2 sensors (surprise surprise!) and tps set at 0.2V i know that the tps should be set so that the voltave reads 0.4V but that gives me a very high idle. dannny said the tps is set up right to compensate for another valve/sensor/something at the rear of the engine which also controls the idle. where is this thing i am looking for? what does it look like, any pics please? will i need any special tools to get to…

Hi, A sheared tensioner bolt has caused damage 4 valves in my 300ZX TT. The garage I use near me are saying it is hard to say how much it will cost until they strip it, but are thinking up to £2k. I am think that given this, I may as well just get a recon, or low millage whole engine. Does this sound sensible, and can anybody recommend anyone in the SE east who can even strip it down cheaper, or who sell engines (I live in South West London). Cheers Andy

Well, i was pretty sure i had to replace my prop shaft centre bearing but i took the car to my friends garage for a quick look. Turned out my exhausts were vibrating against the metal bracket that sits under the exhausts, where they meet in the middle. However, i reckon there should be a couple of rubber hanger thingys a bit further back. But there isnt. Anyone got any pics or a diagram which shows where there should be rubber hangers? Cheers Scott
