General Discussions - 300ZX Related

Over since the moron hit the drivers side of my car my clutch has seemed heavier than it used to be. Is there anything under the wing that is part of the clutch booster system, such as some vacuum piping. At idle there always appears to be a bit of a whistle coming from the driver side rear of the engine bay. This takes a fraction of a second to stop after the engine is switched of. I've changed all the 4mm vacuum piping around here in an attempt to stabilize the idle, but no luck so far.

Guys can you help answer: Are the Import TT front break pads the same as the UK ones? and are the 2+2 pads the same as for the 2+0? Can you guess I got an import 2+0 :D If not where can I get the part codes from? Done a search but no obvious thread found. Cheers Mark

Had a new single exit exhaust made up on Friday by Leon at Alunox exhausts (07811 196727). This design is probably a bit OTT for most people but it sounds amazing. The fit is perfect too. Can't recommend this bloke enough - as he's a proper industrial exhaust specialist he knows about pressure drop and fluid dynamics so the design gives thought to it, no sharp bends, proper collector design, tapered steps etc. Also, the whole thing is TIG, not MIG welded and is proper 316L pipe, not cheap high carbon tube as most places use. Hi I'm deciding which set of main pipes to invest in they will prob will be Scarab from the Zcentre but i want it to be loud but not so loud i keep gettin pulled by the fuzz. Will i be able to get away with some 2.5" straight through pipes without cats or silencers and what sort of HP gain should i expect also would i notice the difference with them?

guys, have just got a set of clear indicators (need a bit of fettling to fit -uk spec and mines a jap!!) where can i get bulbs that will show orange when lit but are silver when not on, hate the "fried egg" effect!! or has anybody got any i could buy :D thanx

Been getting a little smoke from the drivers side zorst now and then at idle I've also been loosing a fair bit of oil (about 1 litre every 400 miles :eek: ). Changed the PCV valves in desperation :D, no luck :(. Still smoking. The passenger side turbo front seal has gone, so it looks like new turbos. I have to admit Turbo's are something I know nothing about. I plan to keep the car as my daily driver and I don't want to open the engine up. So for now I would like a set of tubs that will run fine with stock injectors but also have another juice in them to run with 555's when I fit them. after getting it along with a load of other bits from Courtesy about 3 months ago!!!! it had got a lot worse since last time i checked it, diff was covered in oil :x: just need to get round to doing my injector harness connectors & front PCV pipes & im all done :)

Has anyone been able to buy the rear lower control arm ball joint- the one that fits into the underside of the wheel bearing housing. I know that it is possible to buy the complete arm- but it’s very expensive.

Dudes anyone had this fitted yet or know anything re: The Zs limitations. As some of you may know I have a full NOS kit on its way. It came off the 700hp Z I have mentioned in previous post. The guy was running 2 x 150 shot bottles on a Chevy motor. As he has removed these now, I have managed to buy one. My engine has only just been fully rebuilt with all new parts, to keep cost down I have used std Nissan parts. If I put this kit on my moto with say a 50jet. Will my new engine take it like a man or shrivel up and die. If it will take it whats the largest safe'st jet I should use. I have 50-100 and 150

I decided to do some investigating into why my car had a crappy tickover and stalled occationally when braking hard. I first cleaned the TB's which didnt help too much but I got myself a face full of black sh*te as an added bonus!(those carb cleaner sprays have a hell of a kick! :mac1: ) Today I decided to have a look at the PCV valves, moved all the crap out of the way on the drivers side and found that the pipe leading from that one was split and hanging off. I replaced the pipe and the valve looks near new, didnt get a chance to look at the passenger side as it started raining. Hello, I am living in Norway and just now the temperature is about 5-7 degrees below zero. When the sun is shining directly on my 300ZX TT, the car is always hesitating/stumbling when the car is cold! If the sun not are shining the car behave just normal! I got code 42 (fuel temp sensor) when I run the ECU diagnostic, but I have just replaced the sensor. May the sun affect any other sensor so that the car is "fooled" to think it's warmer than it really is?? Thanks- Egil
