When changing the oil, would it be recommended to use an engine flush, then new oil, or no engine flush, or both and an additive , such as STP, or slick 50 etc ?? Its a t/t.

Hiya Well, I just thought I'd leave a post for you guys in the hope that you might be able to give me some advice. I think the time has come when I might properly sell my Zed. I had plenty of work planned for it, but its never come off, and I'm getting married in May, so its dropped even further done the list of priorities now. The trouble is this: I think it needs a respray (there are a few marks on the body, and in the sunlight you can see some swirls in the paintwork, probably because its been cut a few times (just my opinion though). Also, I think it needs new disks & pads (again, my opinion, not a mechanical fact). The only thing that does need doing t…

When starting the car in the morning revs shoot up to round the 2K mark? Is there anything I can do to adjust this - I have tried the ECU reset. Im having a few idling probs too where sometimes when warm it seems to hunt between 1200 and 1600 yet other times it sits at 900 but after a rev drops to 450 then back to about 700. Sort of all over the show really. I have also tried cleaning the ECU conn to the water temp sensor. I have noticed when the car is cold in the morning and I am heading to work if Im doing 30mph in 3rd gear and just come off the accelerator, you can hear the tps relay switching like mad. yet this has been setup. IDeas? C…

I'm new to these beasts, but pleased with the auto TT I've got. However, I have found that if the road's even slightly wet the back end is REALLY twitchy. If I go round a mini roundabout and do anything other than feather the throttle, the back is zipping out from under me. The car has the standard 16" alloys and Toyo tyres (don't know much about these). Is this problem the nature of the beast or are them some things I can do to help?

One sunny lunchtime last week I decided to get the soldering iron out and start replacing my coilpack connectors. Took a pic of how fooked my old one's were! Check it out against the nice new one! They weren't all as bad as that one but not far off! Did my injector connectors last year and have attached a pic of an old one of those too. See the corrosion and oxidisation! I would reccomend this mod to anyone! Seeing as one supplies spark and the other fuel - just the 2 most important factors! Only had 45 mins and did a careful 2, the other 4 next time the sun is out. John - if you are reading this mate, do you still need a coilpack connector? I have one i…

I've found what appears to be a redundant vacuum hose. It is T'd off another vacuum pipe but it doesn't go anywhere. It has what appears to be a restricter held in place with a clip at the open end (i.e. opposite end to the T). When I found it it was poked down in front of the battery, giving the appearance it did something, but i pulled on it and it obviously wasn't attached. Bit of a vague description I know, sorry, Monday is too long! I've checked the vacuum loom diagram and I can't see it. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
