hi ive just had to change my cam belt n water pump but how on earth do u slacken the cam belt tensioner to put new timing belt on??? :bow:

got a z on a 92 ,bulbs blown on the headlight,went to halfords to get a new one,removed the fiddley assed old one and the fitments totally differant,has a a two prong fittment,halfords say they dont do them any ideas where to get one from !!also changing the brakes this week,want to get some braided hose for the fronts not bothered bout the back,and recomendations on best brake fluid to.thanz guys!!

Hello guys, I have a couple of questions that I would be grateful for answers too. 1. I need a replacement power steering hose, the one that goes from the top of the pump to the rack ( left hand side facing the car ) Any ideas were and how much it will cost me? 2. I have a funny buzzing noise coming from the interior light cluster in the roof linning of the car. I pulled it out and found the culprit. Does anyone know what it may be and why it would have a couple of air slots below it? Many thanks for any help. Wayne 175 :confused:

took the car out earlier today and it was driving fine, took it out just now and its drivable but lumpy :cry: -the power keeps goin up n down like something under the bonnet keeps going on and off -th exhaust sound isnt smooth like it was befor, its more badabadabada -when pushin (wot i think is) the thottle cable thing that controls the throttle bodies in the centre above th plenum away from me a little i can hear a hissing sound, cant really tell exactly wher its coming from i havnt got a clue wots going on or wher to start looking help me out guys yaseen

I have noticed that my front drivers side wheel is rubbing on the splash guard? when turning. That bad that its put a hole in it and I think started to rub on the water washer reservoir. This happened with my original tyres on and its now even worse with my 17's running a 45 profile. Any ideas? My left wheel is close but not touching. I have tried pushing the washer bottle forward through the quiet large hole thats there but it doesnt seem to want to move so is not loose.

Does anyone know the best place to get hold of a power steering pump, and what sort of cost it would be?

whilst replacing the VTC springs to solving one rattle (i think) I seem to have created another! While everything was out i took the opportunity to check all the belts. The Steering pump belt was quite lose so i tightened this up, put everthing back together, started it up and all seemed sweet until today. I now have a mettalic bearing type rattle that rises and drops with the engine speed until it has really warmed up then it goes. It seems to becoming from the power steering pump area. I have checked the power steering fluid levels and chucked in some additive but have had no luck. Has anyone had anthing like this? Does the PS pump need replacing or can the bearin…

Hi all, Yes ANOTHER question! Does anyone have any good tips on interior cleaning/overhaul. The car is 12 years old now and could do with a good cleanup inside (the exterior is great). Apart from anything else, it seems that the cars previous owner was a smoker and is seems to have discoloured the interior alittle. Can anyone recommend any decent products/techniques? Black zed spotted (K plate UK model) at the traffic lights on the last bit of the A444 near the footy ground. Who ever you are you are you are either deaf and blind or in a world of your own, I flashed.......I beeped......you saw nothing.

Saw 2 grey Z's. First one had the number plate WIB or MIB then 4 numbers, was an import and was grey. Saw it around 12.40 on Sunday, on Martin way, heading towards morden, going past South merton (or south morden station - I have lived around there for over 15 years, and still can't remember it's name). Second Z was again a grey import (not the same one), saw that afternoon, around 3.30 in Morden, parked in that place in front of the big bus stop, just past morden station and in front of greggs the baker and the meditaranian food shop. :cool: You guys may come in useful, when I want my first sit in a Z / test drive, as soon as I'm sure I can afford one :D …

wonder if anybody could help with a problem? after a run my cars idle speed hunts between 900 and 1500 RPM for about 15secs then levels out at 800 RPM . Around town the idle is perfect , I have changed most things I can think of ,plugs,air filter fuel filter.

I've got a manual TT '89 model and have recently started to get a bit of slip on the clutch under load. It's booked into the garage to get a new clutch on Wednesday but surfing the net I found reference to 'early models suffered slip due to clutch pedal return spring being too weak'!! Due to wear and tear it looks like I will get it replaced regardless, (it's down to biting on the last inch) but is it worth getting the garage to check out the spring anway? Has anybody else heard of or experienced this problem? Cheers

undefinedundefined Hello, I picked up my first 300zx this weekend and 30 miles from home it over heated and blow all the water away. Looked like it came from the nearside as the nearside wheel was soaked with water. Atfer recovery my friend and i stripped the cooling system down but could find no reasons for the over heat and thought it may have been an air lock or something. However when we removed the expansion box it appears to have a whole at the top of the box with no hose.. I can see water coming out of it after a little run.. Should this whole be there?????? Air Conditioning Auto Amplifier? Having done a little investigation myself on my Air-Con display failure, I may have to find the Air-Con Auto Amp, so can anyone tell me where to find it. Yes I have looked in the service manual, but to no avail so far. Thanks in advance. :bow:

Right dont know if this has been done but how about . . . modifying the front light wash to pray directly onto the intercoolers. this way you dont need new pumps, etc I never use the headlight wash so I dont care if thats gone. would it make much difference to speed? would you spray every few seconds when on full throttle?
