The theory about lightened flywheels and top pulleys seems ok to me, - free revving, faster spool up etc, but then I remember that my engine is trying to push well over a tonne of car at high speed, so why does spinning a few kilogrammes of stock spec metal make so much difference? Can anyone explain it to me??

I've found my problem!!!!! It was the coil pack on the drivers side rear. Swapped a couple of coils around and I pulled the plug off the coil I thought was faulty and it didn't make a difference to the revs. Also I found that one of the other side cylinders wasn't firing so I whipped out the coil pack (which was the centre one) and swapped it with the fron one and noticed that there was a lot of corrision in the bottom of the middle (faulty) spark plug bore. And this was the problem (I think) on that side. Now what would be causing this corrosion? (Dont say water :D ) Do you think that the coil pack was leaking? Thanks to all of you guy's for the excleelnt advi…

OK, I've been learning all about upgrade turbos and boost controllers, but now it seems there's fuel controllers to learn about too! I've heard that ecus can provide sufficient fuelling to sort out higher boost levels, but is this truely effective, or do we need a fuel controller too? I already have an ecu chip which is supposed to fuel my old set up with boost jets running around 15psi, but I since the boost jets came off it smells like it's running too rich. Does this mean my ecu is set at one fuel level (too high). I certainly seem to be putting a lot of petrol in!!!

most of us guys have increased our boost sometime or other. My query is that if you increase the boost, you also increase the air temp. By increasing boost to say 13/14psi using stock ICs.The air temp will more than double, this is the last thing we need. would you get more performance and less detonation running the boost say at 10psi. hot air is bad. Anyone?

I recently fitted Nismo Upeer link bushes to both front upper links on my 300. I was messing about with the tyres/wheels at the weekend and found the bushes on the inside of the drivers side link can be moved from left/right about 3 mm. Surely this cant be right...I cant feel sideways movement but i thought they would stay quite rigid during their lifetime. Anyone else noticed this. Cheers John Crisp

Hello, I was wondering whether any of you could help me with a little problem I seem to be having: I had a problem with my ZX TT stalling at low revs. I took it to the monkeys at Nissan, who after doing a Consult said they could find no problems. After a tip from this site, I suggested that it may be the TPS. They then said that it was and that they had repaired a bit of wiring. The revs weren't perfect afterwards, but it had actually stopped stalling. That was about 4 months ago and now it's started up again. These are the symptoms: - It only ever stalls when the engine is warmed up and seems to be especially affected after hard acceleration. -…

I'm getting a very low rumbling noise when i get to about 30mph,it seems like it sounds like it's coming from the front of the car low down somewhere,my initial though is wheel bearings........any ideas??? Could it be the turbos?

Hi All, My front passenger tyre has extreme wear on the inner side (i.e. bald) the rest of the tyre still looks like new. Drivers side still has plenty of tread although is slightly more worn on the inner side. I'm guessing this means it's not a tracking/alignment problem. Rears are also fine. Using Toyo proxys (about 3000 miles) and energy suspesion poly bushes in tension bars (checked and very tight). Any suggestion as to what coud cause this would be welcome. Possibly a suspension component bush somewhere?? I think the suspension's getting a bit tired, 105000 miles and still original. Thanks in advance. RobH

I always used budget car wash but I want to look after my 300! Any idea what the best car wash and polishes are? I thought AutoGlym but now maybe Zymol. Zymol do a seal conditioner which I reckon could keep headlight, targa and other seals good. Anyone know what the best stuff is? :hyper:
