I currently have 265/35/18's on the back 245/40/18's on the front. The thing is i need to change the back tyres, at the monent they look really tight on the rim and dont protect the rim at all. Ive just measured my rear rim with some calipers and they measure about 10 1/4 inch (im guessing they are 10inch!). Now they dont rub at the monent but at some point they have rubbed on the inner rear wheel arch (some how? - im guessing because of the four wheel steer in a drift? - by some pro in japan???!). Anyway i need some tyres, Can i go to 285/35/18's? is it recommended?, is anyone doing this on 10inch wide rims? is their any chance of inner arch rubbing? …

So after stripping off various bits i found oil in the passenger IC to turbo hose and the inlet mani, vust everything else seemed clear. No oil on boost, but only on decel. I assumed it was the tubby, but as no oil on boost I guess the oil must be drawing from somewhere else when the TB's are closed and the car is on run down. The only thing I can assume is that the car is drawing oil from stem seals on run down as it tries to draw air from somewhere and they are week letting oil through, hence the blueish smoke and burnt oil smell. Gonne strip it and replace these after a few test have been run on engine. Any ideas as to any other possibilities. …

Been looking at some Toyo Proxes T1-S tyres. It says that they are only rated at either V, W & Y, but I thought that some people on here had fitted them:confused: If so, does this mean that we can get away with Y rated tyres for our Z's? Please advise ASAP, as i'm looking at buying a set of all four of these for £294 delivered.

Hi there, I can buy a non-turbo for little money from a 300zx and would like to know what power upgrades suit the engine best. The engine is 107.000 miles old and I will strip the block down and overhaul it, so things like a knife-edged crank, light weight flywheel and pulley will be done anyway. But what do I do for more power? It will not be fitted to an z32 but to a s13, so an custom head-back exhaust with a Super drager will be fitted along with Apex'i filters. But that's as far as I know. Is it possible to increase the compression ratio and fit value for money oversized pistons (are they availabel?) and is there anything possible with the camshafts (-pul…

the moment, installing a lovely RPS clutch from Smithy  I've been eyeing up the EGR valve, thinking of removing it altogether.. Can it be done successfully this way? Am I correct in thinking, remove pipe from left manifold (passenger) and plug, and then cut the two pipes going to the plenum close to the EGR body (then remove from under plenum afterwards or even at a later date, plug the ends??), then unbolt EGR itself and plug the vac line... :hyper: It looks to me like it's possible to do, has anyone else attempted removal with the gearbox outta the way.. :) cheers Jon...

has anyone fitted their blitz dump valves in the same pipes as the stock ones. if so is there a kit i can get or how did you do yours. i do not want them under bonnet. as there aint much room under there and it is looking cluttered as it is. plus there would be more noise  just behind the mesh grill.

As i now have a twin turbo i'm looking to upgrade the power as much as possible without needing to upgrade any other major mechanics. So far this weekend i'll be mostly fitting a Mongoose system and Apexi filter. Is this going to make a difference if so how much? I'm also interested in using a boost upgrade but nervous about putting any strain on other par After exhaust and filter would this be the next logical step. Also what would be the benefit of fitting a dump valve or is this a waste of time??? alex@tcsoho.co.uk

Anyone have any ideas on this one... temp sensor shows just below 50% temp which is my normal... but when I boot it and spin up turbos, the sensor going down to nearly 0% and flickers all over the place down there..... stop booting it and after 20 secs or so it settles at below 50% again. My first thoughts were that I had a water leak again, and that there was enuf water to cover the sensor just about, but when the engine was pushed (more water over turbos ?) the temp sensor was finding itself in air, leading to *****cks reading.. flickering due to intermittent water contact ? However, now engine is cool, I have taken rad cap off and it's full to brim…

I am thinking of buying a fiberglass spoiler (prob. from Luke) and fitting it myself. I have seen the step by step instructions for removing the old one. I have some questions on installing the new one (does any know of a site that has a step by step installation ?) 1. Can the old holes be filled with fiberglass resin instead of welding them up with steel? 2. What kind of finish is on the new fiberglass spoiler ? What kind of primers, sealers, etc. does it need before its final colour spray ? 3. The new spoiler is bonded on to the boot lid with Sika adhesive/sealer, but after that does it normally get filled and blended with resin around its perimeter ? D…

Well no sooner had I thought I'd cured my missfire, well I hadn't. The two cylinder that now missfire are the centre ones on both sides. One may be a faylty spark plug but I have swapped coils and tested injectors are firing and all seems OK. Please help guy's as the car isn't really driveable in this state. Does this sound like a wiring problem or PTU related? Ivan

Hi Guys I want to try out my car with the HICAS deactivated and have heard that this can be done by unplugging the HICAS sensor on the steering wheel boss. I've had the thing apart today and took some photos. Could anyone point out which of the connectors relates to the HICAS? Many thanks Jon

Just a quick thanks to Cos for his help with the mirrored light inserts. He sent a set of finished ones out before he had my originals so I could change them over quickly. Quality was absolutely spot on as well. Well worth the cash!!! Cheers mate! Rich
