I've had the Zed two months; aint seen another yet! I need to see another one to have a look at the plumbing that goes to the boost gauge. That apparently is the Nissan garage's (in Salisbury) opinion! I'm in Trowbridge Wilts, so anyone within reasonable distance who can advise on this would be great. I've had advice and photos, but to actually look under another bonnet would be brilliant ed

Ok, with all my talk about my car running so well recently, last night I heard a knocking noise when I parked the car on the drive, I could hear a slight knocking sound when the car was on idle, If I revved the engine the noise went away. Now my drive is a fairly steep incline so I thought it must be low on oil, I've driven to work this morning, no problems, car running fine, but when I parked up I let the car idle for a bit and the noise cam back, just not as loud. Anyway, checked the oil, it's about a quarter full, so I'm gonna stick a litre of oil in it this lunchtime and see how it go's. Any idea's anyone?

My TT is making a 'exhaust blowing ?' noise when you put your foot down, although it only does this when accelerating mildly from cold. When the car is hot its not as bad but still present, and there is a 'ticking' noise . I cannot really hear where the 'exhaust blowing ?' sound is coming from when i rev the car when stationary however the 'ticking' noise seems to be coming from the pass side (uk right-hand drive) middle-of-engine turbo precat area. I have also read in another search that the sound that i am refering too could be the EGR pipe union on the exhaust manifold or could it be the o2 sensor leaking ? (o2 sensor my thought). This sound is really annoying me now…

Spent another day looking at this today! Getting steadily worse  Stuff done previously: FPR replaced and fuel pressure checked - OK EGR system disabled and valve checked for sticking - OK MAF replaced - No difference PVPR system removed to simplify system. Base timing chacked - OK New 7 range plugs - No difference. New tank of optimax - No difference. Started today by checking the injector resistances at the ECU (between pin 58 and relevant pin 1XX for each injector). Spec 10-14ohms at the injector. On Leigh's car all were ~14ohm except no 6 - 15.2 ohms. Cleaned connectors on 1,2,3,6 with dremmel and all dropped to ~12.5 ohms. All conn…

Saw a rather nice Z slightly past the M25 juntion on the A3 heading towards London. Has a rather nice luminous/glow in the hard '300zx' (i think) printed on it's back, and from the number plate looked like an import. Unfortunately that's all I got of it, as I was going rather too fast to take too many details of it

OK, all you guys with TTs, running extra boost with jets or bleed valves... this thread is for you! There's a serious bargain group buy on Boost Controllers run by Chris@Getgreddy.co.uk in the traders forum, you are not going to see prices like this again for along time, so forget whatever you were going to spend your money on and get one of these little beauties! It will even save you money in the long run, cause your turbos will probably last much longer with predictable, monitored boost levels. And take it from me, my tub seals have just gone after 12 months of increased boost on bleed valves and the cheapest way to fix that is going to cost well over a …

I know people fit extra oil coolers to auto Zs. I rencently bought a non-turbo auto Z from Japan. Would that need an extra oil cooler or is it just turbo models that need it? :hyper:

The OE ariel is always going up and down as I turn the stereo on and off. I guess it would be kind to grease it. But when Halfords greased the ariel on my 200SX, it never quite worked right again. Is grasing the ariel a good idea? Is there a certain sort of grease you should use?

Hi, I've got a pretty bad fuel smell! very noticable when i've turn the engine off and got out. Gues it's a corroded fuel pipe or some thing. Anyone know how much it will cost to replace them?

OEM clock, Right this pile of sh1te in my car seems to have given up the ghost all together now, but then it wasnt working properly before that anyway. Is there a clock on the market that'll, with maybe modding, fit in the space left by the oem clock, or is there another route. And no i dont want a turbo timer or similar in there. Thanks Dave

When fully warm the revs oscillate between 700 and 900 rpm at idle. Any ideas what it could be. She was idling at 2000 rpm until a fixed a vacuum leak cause by a missing O ring on the balance bar which I only found out when replacing the fuel hoses to get rid of the stink of petrol first thing in the morning.

can anyone recommend a nicely priced stut bar front/rear http://www.ebay.com has a lot listed but they are all very very cheap, cheap usually indicates poor quality. I'm not so fussed about looks, i'm more interested in performance for a reasonable price :)

Hi All, I've wanted a ZX ever since I first saw one as a teen. Finally scraped the money together and am about to buy one. I've looked at the buyer's guides etc. and feel like i'm pretty informed. But, there's a guy selling them in dartford / Bexley Heath from his home, according to him he's sold a few, he goes by the name of Joe, has anyone actually bought one from him, and is he trustworthy? Also, i've read bad things about Zubi motors in these forums, but the bloke there reckons he can get me on to my exact spec in about 5 weeks... has anyone else bought one from him? Also, is it worth doing a HPI check if it's an import? And what about RAC / AA …
