I tried to get my car flat out yesterday. (It's a late model Jap non-turbo). At about 130mph it seemed to be misfiring and wouldn't accelerate any more. It also seemed to be chaging between gears, or trying to at 130 too. Any ideas what's wrong? I was going to change the spark plugs or try using Optimax.

This is a long shot but i saw one Zed (Black) by Hele, and one Silver one in town - beeped the horn flashed the light and got stared at like i was a retard! If you do own the silver one - live the dream and bloody wave next time, instead of just staring at my wheels with a disgusted look on your face) However i dont think either cars are members on here! Black one looks nice

A while ago I had an intermittent odometer problem, I got some great advice from my post. Now it appears to have packed up completely. A search reveals that it is quite common to have intermittent stoppages of the odometer. Do you think that because mine has packed up completely its more than just dirt in the cogs? How long do you reckon the whole job takes ? In Andy's post he mentioned he had to grind the heads off the Jap security screws..........will I need to do that just to clean the cogs ? Thanks, John

Just driving up the motorway and give it some welly, (aftermarket) Boost gauge shot up to 15 psi, then a big lurch as engine dies (not fully but lumpy as hell) . Pulled over and engine stalled, tried to start, engine would tick over but wouldnt go above 2.5k and I had to keep pumping the pedal to keep it ticking over otherwise it just stalled. eventually got the car running and could rev up to about 5k. So pulled away, power was really down though and it absically run like a bag of sh*t. Stopping at traffic lights tickover would drop down to 200 then stall. Eventually - pulled over and got a bite to eat. Started car again and its fine. Boosted back to 15psi, and …

Everytime I take my car down the local garagfe and jetwash it Its comes back dirtier!!!! Whats happening is the rear side window rubber at the bottom and the bottom of the lights seem to be full of dirt. I have jetwashed just the window rubber for about 5 mins and still more comes out. Same goes to rear light cluster, mud and grit comes out from the bottom of the light cluster continually. Anyone else have same problem? I removed the light cluster and cleaned up and refitted a while ago but its still does it!!!

You may have noticed some serious solid advice from Smithy in response to a question I posted about after market tubs. I'd be well happy to hear from anyone who's upgraded or replaced their tubs to try to get some more background while I save up for the BIG SPEND!!! I just can't decide between stage 1 or stage 2 spec. :hyper:

I've just cut the wires to the solenoid on the key barrell so that I can remove my keys when the turbo timer's counting down, and that now works fine...but for some reason when I now put the car into reverse, the beeping has suddenly become really really loud with long tones, rather than the original short, quiet beeps that i had before I cut the wires to the ignition.  As such, I now need to stop this beeping! Can anyone tell me which wires to disconnect?? thanks again guys. Ch ;)

Hi Guys N Gals Ive got a problem with the zed and its really starting to pee me off now! Its a twin turbo manual and i can only describe it as 'popping' basically when i start it in the morning and its cold it idles lumpy. When you walk round the back of the car - because of the after market exhaust you can here it irregular popping! like a miss fire! - and it revs high as well. When you rev it it sounds beautiful. and when its warm everything seens ok! Last week i changed the plugs, fuel filter, and air filters. I havnt done the throttle bodies yet - could this be the problem? Thanks Tom
