Hi, Quick question/s, whilst my car is in warranty I intend to find as much wrong with it as possible, so you may be getting a few posts from me!!! Its a JSpec TT, 55k miles. Question 1, I have a whirring noise when driving at 10-50 mph which sounds like a fan noise. Does the viscous coupling fail on Zeds? Or could it be wheel bearings? The car does have 18'' alloys on it, which I should imagine cause allot more stress on them. These noise is fairly constant and starts to disappear over 60mph which is why I thought it might be the fan, due to the coupling starting to loosen up at higher speeds? Question 2, I need a new glovebox as I bought mi…

I have just bought a 1992 jap import z and the other day I had to remove the ecu due to the dreaded knock sensor code, while I had it out I noticed that it had a plaque on the top of the unit saying "MINES" does this mean that it has been chipped and has anyone heard of this product before cheers Eddie

Friday afternoon, spotted twice ;) Gunmetal import 2+2, with '99 spec front bumper (I think... a roundy one, looked well nice), and a single fat exhaust (3-4" approx), driven by smartly dressed man :) Saw ya first coming into town on Uppingham Rd, in Humberstone Park, about 4pm. I was coming the other way in slow traffic, crawled past you staring but the sleek lines of my plain white Pug Partner failed to impress you enough to notice :( Later, bout 5:20pm, saw you heading west on the A46 away from Syston - blasted past you, but even the roar of a stock 1.9D pushed to the limit failed to impress, and you didn't rise to the challenge :'( (OK, I say "blasted",…

Speaking to Luke, this seems to be very expensive to fit. I'm not sure what it is exactly. All I know is that you end up with a better spoilerless look than you do by filling up the spoiler holes. Any ideas?

Hello, Spending my Fri arvo under the Zed, just to check.. the diff oil filler is on the RHS of the diff, looking from the back of the car, and is only about 2 inches above the drain plug on the LHS? Cheers, Matt.

I understand that my Jspec 1990 300ZX NA had one of these but that it was lost after a minor crash and replacement of the nose. How easy is it to replace this system? I've got a switch for it that does nothing at the moment, but I wouldn't even know where to start looking for the mechanism itself. I don't really need it, but being a bit of a perfectionist I want to get my car into mint condition. Any advice appreciated.

Quick question - How long do people generally leave their timers running for after a decent trip, say 20 miles? I've had the turbo water cooling system disconnected so I leave it for about 3 minutes - is this enough? Ch

My z runs ok, starts ok and idles at 750rpm, but how can I tell if the spark plugs are not up to scratch? From what I have read, looking at them does not give you any indication due to the fact that they dont deteriorate like normal plugs. I dont know how old they are as they were in the car when I bought it 8 months ago. I have read that you dont ever gap them...is this true ? If it is, then if an inspection reveals that the gap is wider than standard, is that an indication that its time to change them ? Thanks, John

Hi guys, Just took delivery of my 1st ever 300zx t/t auto. Got it at a reasonable price as one (or 2) of the heads are cracked. Got a new pair of heads on the way and any advice or encouragement will be gratefully recieved !! Had Americans for the past 12 years and fancied a change, so while unfamiliar with the 300, got a reasonable idea what i`m up against. Any do`s or dont`s etc and tricky bits too look out for, let me know. Thanx in anticipation. Bigmincey...............
