General Discussions - 300ZX Related

My z runs ok, starts ok and idles at 750rpm, but how can I tell if the spark plugs are not up to scratch? From what I have read, looking at them does not give you any indication due to the fact that they dont deteriorate like normal plugs. I dont know how old they are as they were in the car when I bought it 8 months ago. I have read that you dont ever gap them...is this true ? If it is, then if an inspection reveals that the gap is wider than standard, is that an indication that its time to change them ? Thanks, John

Thinking of doing my own oil changes rather than driving all the way down to ******** each time. Im sure Jeff uses magnatec but I could be wrong. One of the local garages told me to only use fully synthetic 5/40 What do you guys use

where can i see a picture of the speed sensor on the gearbox

there is a pipe you can remove on the emissions side to get it through an mot if it is running too rich, i seen it on here some time ago can anyone shed some light on it cheers

Does anyone know what fitting these 2 hoses are that go to the radiator? Are they 5/16 8mm or 3/8 10mm ? Many thanks y'all

How do I get the wiper arm's off? They are so tight on the splines that they will not budge. Tried WD40 and even a hammer, but still not mooving. Any Idears?? Chris..

Hi guys, Just took delivery of my 1st ever 300zx t/t auto. Got it at a reasonable price as one (or 2) of the heads are cracked. Got a new pair of heads on the way and any advice or encouragement will be gratefully recieved !! Had Americans for the past 12 years and fancied a change, so while unfamiliar with the 300, got a reasonable idea what i`m up against. Any do`s or dont`s etc and tricky bits too look out for, let me know. Thanx in anticipation. Bigmincey...............

Hi, Ever since I have done the TT conversion the steering wheel is out of true, we have adjusted the steering column union but to no avail, any ideas?

Hi, Anyone know where I can get an 'Insane' Nissan badge for the headlight panel? I've seen these Insane badge but when I e-mailed them to ask if they would fit, they said "I dunno". (Very helpful!!) Is the 200sx S14 front Nissan emblem the same size as ours?

OK, I have recently fitted a new front bumper to my car (1990 TT UK Spec) and have no side lights ? I thought that the smoked rectangular lights were Indicators and side lights incorporated with each other, It turns out that they are only indicators. I spoke to Luke today (Z Centre) and he seems to think that they incorporated both on vehicles from mid-1992 onwards ? I had a problem with my tail lights not working and checked the footwell fuse box and the 3rd fuse from top left was blown after replacing it with a 7.5w insted of 10w (All I had) that blew I then replaced with a 20w (All I had) and getting them working I noticed that I had no side lights, I now h…

Hi, this may sound a bit stupid but how can you tell when your coolant is at maximum capacity (ie. filled up to the top) ??? I tried to use the wierd tube thing but I couldn't really tell where the mark was! So I kept filling it up until it suddenly started p*ssing out from underneath the car! (not out of the top as I expected) Is it just me or is the 'tube thing' very hard to read??? and how do you know when you are coming to the 'top' of the filler? - ie. in most normal cars there is a filler bottle where you can see when you are about to reach the top. Sorry for such a silly post but it's just a bit annoying... Cheers

Ok I need some help on turbos,I was offered a pair of turbo dynamics T28 hybrids,However I have heard bad reports on failure on these turbos,do any of you guys have them fitted? If so can you tell me anything about them,sorry about my first post sounding silly but I just bought my first Z and one of my tubs has failed. Thanks Martin
