Has anyone had their front brake disks skimmed in a machine shop ? Whats the most you can skim off ? How many of you just replace the pads and leave the rotors alone ? Thanks John

cars fine most of the time if i leave her for 2/3 days batterys dead or if i leave the lights on for 10 mins,engine off,weakens battery,must be the battery so is there any battery thats better than anouther! and is there an easy referance if i go to halfords for a new one,coz most things are not listed at halfords :mad: any suggestions wouid be cool cheers cheques in the post for subscription :D

Anyone know if you can get all the dials recalibrated ?. I need the get the fuel, tacho & water temp sorted , they don 't seem to be working too well since I fitted the new dials.

I know .. a 300zx with a towbar might look a bit iffy. I only want to move the odd motorbike about. Maybe on one of those racks which sit on the towbar. I'm after one with a removable end so it looks standard when not in use. I've done a search but the threads seem old and I couldn't get to some of them. Any idea where / if I can get a towbar?

after cleaning my interior today the only thing that leats the car down is the small cracks on the seats,there dark blue leather.. anyone come across a range of leather restorers that comes in colours ? thanks guys wayne.

Hi I am looking at buying the Speed convertor from the Z Centre and have a couple of questions. 1) Does the delimeter allow the car to go above the restricted 180 Kmh on Jap Imports 2) Does the convertor have an effect on the HICAS system. Cheers.

I have a 300zx tt with an auto box. It seems to be having trouble selecting the right gear. I'm hoping it's a speed sensor problem but i can't find anyone with diaagnostics to verify this. I live in the north west so has anyone any suggestions?

Konrad - any news on the Viper front yet - I was wondering if yours is fitted yet? If not, when are you planning to do it? I can't wait to see it fitted - you seem to be on exactly the right wavelength with regard to the subtlety required to get this to look just right. :hyper:

Ill soon be looking to buy a new exhaust soon as mine is in a bit of a state. Can anybody recommend a decent fabricator down South? Im looking for a nice V6 rumble to compete with the local Supra that sounds f*ckin awesome!:D Anyone have any sound recordings of theirs? Cheers Wolfie

My (new) exhaust rattles when I go off the accellerator, and it's getting to be very annoying. It's decatted and the heat shield has been cut away, so it's not that. Is it likely to be just the metal vibrating against the car body? If so how do I get rid of it? I took it back to the fitter who took off a support bar from the old exhaust, but it's still noisy. Any other ideas?

Hi, My rear shocks keep leaking oil everywhere. When I first got my zed from Japan it came with Trust shocks all round which I was over the moon with. When it came to MOT time they found one of the rears was leaking oil. Not a big probelme though because the kind previous jap owner had put the origainals in the boot. They replaced the trust rears with these and they seemed fine untill about a month later when both of the rears started leaking. Before I splash out on some new ones is there anything that could be causing this like a dodgy part putting excess strain on the rear shock or have I just been unlucky? Thanks, Justin

:confused: Im getting new tyres on sat, have to order them tomo so any replies tonight (tues) appreciated. My local tyre guy can get me Goodyear eagle F1's GSD3 225/50x16 £94. fitted , good price! But on the rear, 245/45x16 he says he can only get GSD2's £103. , but they have a slightly different tread pattern from GSD3's (grooves arent so long ). Does anyone know if you can get GSD3's in 245/45x16 or is he right? I've looked on http://www.mytyres.co.uk and they dont do them , as he says. Cheers,

Can anyone help me ? I am at my wits end with my f'ing speedo. It works and dies on a completely arbitrary basis. The problem is every time the car is in for a service it's working and they can't find a problem - and then just as I get the damn thing home it stops working !!! I've noticed that if the first manouver in the morning is reversing (out of the garage for example) then it kills it but even then that isn't necessarily consistent. And of course when the speedo dies then very often so does the power steering - but not always :confused: All suggestions gratefully received :( Mark

Guys, I am in need of the measuremnts for the centre nut on these MX5 alloys as I have similar ones on my Zed, they are just much bigger. I am missing one of the centre nuts though and am sure they are the same size as the MX5's. If anyone has a MX5 with these alloys could they please tell me the measurements? A long shot on a Zed forum I guess but I have tried the MX5 forums and they are crap. Everyone should buys zeds just for an excuse to use this forum! Cheers, Justin

This weekend I will be changing the front brake pads, and possibly removing the calipers, as I suspect the inside ones maybe seized (based upon less wear on the inside pads) If I have to remove them, do you have any tips for caliper removal and pad replacement, or is it straight forward? What is the stock boost pressure, I think I have a problem as the boost reads 6psi on the after market gauge but the stock gauge reads just below the end . Any ideas? cheerz, mickey
