Ok...moving on from the depression of my last post, I've decided that rather than sell her, I should keep her, but to try and get certain jobs done cheaper...i.e. by me and a mate! The first job I've got on the list is to replace the brake discs (all round) with something new and better than the stock Z discs (which feel p1ss poor). I've looked on 3G's web site, and seen the 20GR ones (which they said are for the more powerful cars). Anyone know anything about these, or know of any good alternatives? I'm basically looking for something thats good, with some good pads, but ones that I dont have to change every 100 miles! (I think its got black stuff pads on at the mo…

Is there anyone who can help me source some of the golden nectar. (No not Fosters :duffer: ) I've exhausted all the haunts around where I live without success. Even Halfords ordering in shed loads hasn't worked. Anyone have a mail-order source? I don't mind buying in bulk (within reason)_ Simon.

Someone on here said they were stopping making Kahn RS-Rs (I think). The website still has them listed. Can you still get them? I like mine, but (as usual) am an expert at scuffing them up and would like a new back one. Does anyone know any place still selling them? http://www.kahnwheels.com/shop/2/index.htm If i DID decide to change them, how wide can I go on the back wheels and tyres wise? Either that or has anyone got a (not kerbed!!) 17/9.5 Kahn RS-R to sell? Failing that, how do they refurbish wheels? How badly scuffed can they be before they can't be fixed? Should have gone with 18s. 17s look quite wee and pathetic now I've had them for a while. The 4…

I'm thinking of fitting the transmission/diff oil pump from a UK car to my new manual box using my old engine oil cooler. I've been told cooling isn't really needed but as I drive like a nutter and have had a new gearbox on every car I've ever owned, I think it's probably a good idea! Does anyone know if it can be connected to cool my import diff too? The Jap spec doesn't normaly have a cooler but I wondered if the mounting holes were there? Does anyone know where the thermostat is that turns the pump on? I'm not too bothered as it's mainly the gearbox I'm wanting to protect but I may as well mount it in the original location on the diff if it will.

Fitted these last night with some help from Leigh again (cheers mate). Problem is I bought them second hand, so didn't get the hoses. I've used the stock hoses and they line up OK (Bracket lines up with tow eye bracket and the 2 holes on the fron line up with the ali plate) so I'm assuming they're in about the right position. I basically have 2 problems now. First, the coolant resevoir is forced out of place by the back of the cooler and will hit the wheel. 2nd, the bottom of the front arch liners hits the bottom of the coolers, so it dosen't sit right. Is this just me, or is it a common thing?! I've junked the carbon cannister anyway to free up the air flow a…

I took my car to a garage in Bristol today and he diagnosed my car today as having a problem with my car running way too lean. He reckons that after doing an emissions test / lambda senser O2 Sensers etc etc that my car is not getting enough air - fuel ratio mixture. He then went on to tell me that I need to buy an AIR FLOW METER COMPENSATER MADE BY APEXI (Approx £70-£80), allegedlly they are a small box that connects up to the ecu/aft and you can manually adjust the air flow to calibrate to the fuel mixture. CAN ANYONE VARIFY THIS OR STEER ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION ? AS HE RECKONS THAT MY CAR IS RUNNING THAT LEAN HE IS SUPRISED THE CAR IS RUNNING AT ALL. Duffer, John…

I have wee problem, my zed starts first time, with no probs whatsoever. even after a min or two it's fine to switch off & start, fires up sweetly. But if I run it for say 15mins+ switch off & start up again it turns over & won't fire unless I leave it for for a wee while & start it up again. PTU? new plugs? I thought it may have been an earthing problem as for some reason when it happen previous I clamped a jump lead on the - terminal and on the block it seemed to help, so I bought the kit off Pete Sh. Still happens tho :-/ so it wasn't that (nice kit tho Pete ;) )
