hi i have an autometer air/fuel gauge can i use the existing lamda and which wires to use or do i need some sort of sender for it

If I drive my car from cold all is well untill about 20mins into the drive the boost will cut to around 6psi if I switch the car off and let it stand for around 20mins then restart the car is fine untill it warms up again, does this sound like a ptu prob?? I have the standard series 1 unit fitted :rolleyes:

Anyone ever had a tailgate skin made up to hide the hideous tailgate after the removal of the standard rear spoiler on my 93 uk 300. I have seen the ones at the z-centre but as usual i aint budgeted for another 100 quid so hopefully this is gonna be the cheaper option. Cheers Guys John Crisp

Ever since owning my Z, the cruise control has never worked. It has had an auto to manual conversion (done before I bought it) so can only assume it is something to do with that. Has anyone got any ideas as to what I can try to get it working? :( Going on holiday in 5 weeks so would like to get it sorted before then if possible.

My horn and Cruise have both stopped working in the last few days! All fuses and wiring from Steering wheel boss appear ok, so do the sprung contacts behind the wheel. Any ideas anybody??!! :(

Does any one have a photo of the mounting of the engine oil cooler ? I'm looking for some ideas on where the thing is bolted to the chassis, to give me some idea where I could bolt a new cooler that I am going to get for the autobox (I dont have an engine oil cooler - Import) Thanks John

Anyone know what the TPS voltage on Pins 34 and 35 of the Autobox ECU should be? as i'm getting the same voltage everywhere BUT the Autobox ECU pins for the TPS. so its 0.4V at the TPS 0.4V at the ECU but only 0.1V at the Autobox ECU unless i unplug the ECU then its the correct voltage. Dose that sound like my ECU fooked?

Funny problem, sometimes when driving the z, I would be accerlerating and my car will jump from about 3500rpm to about 4500rpm and then back down, this feels like the car gets a sudden surge of power as you can hear the revs going up, but the power doesn't seem to come through until the revs actually go back to normal. The clutch feels fine, and I have had my turbos re'cond recently (the problem was there beofore the recon aswell). What can this be???? Cheerz

ok Ive just fitted an alarm with auto-remote engine-start. the problem is that the Zed usually gets a little "left foot squirt" on start up but when the remote starts it with me obviously posing whilst walking up to the car(!!!) there is no throttle and sometimes it doesnt rev high enough to hold the start. Any way of turning the idle up a little??

I guess as the stock gauge isn't that accurate and i will eventually fit a boost controller i need to fit and after market one....... Which is best electronic or mechanical and how easy are they to fit? Also has anyone any photos of a fitted one other than on the piller? Finally which is the smallest one i can get? Cheers

Hello peeps Im hoping but not holding my breath, that someone will give me an alternative to what I already suspect. All help & comments VERY gratefully recieved before I pay out large bills for the Turbo job... I have a '91 ZX tt auto and when I first fire her up if I leave her running she will start smoking blue, leaving me thinking TURBO's NEED DOING (aaarrrgg!!) HOWEVER upon driving off she clears totalluy and when running around and even booting there is no smoke. When I leave her Idling AFTER a run she will happily sit for three or more minutes and NOT smoke. YET EVERY time I start her and let her idle the smoke appears. Under harsh accelleration she b…

Hi, I don't get to use my 300 a great deal so tend to leave the negative cable off the battery terminal to stop the battery draining. I reconnected this so I could take the car out at the weekend but when I started the car up, the "Check" warning light stayed on, there was a high pitch buzzing from the rear of the car, the cooling fan came on straight away and it seemed to have trouble keeping the revs up sometimes stalling. I think the high pitch buzzing could be the fuel pump, is it likely it will need replacing? Any ideas what may be causing the other problems? Thanks in advance for your help. John

Could some one please advise i have bought a ZX this weekend and there is a rear right hand side inletmanfoild that is made of brass but the piped has snapped can some one advise what this is and where i can get a new one Cheers

Been a fantastic roof off sort of weekend up north. Used my weeks quota of optimax in two days! :) Didn't see anyone on Saturday but three on Sunday. A silver convertible - really nice, first one I've ever seen. Heading down towards the coast at tynemouth around lunchtime. A bit later on, a red zed at Cullercoats. Friendly waves off both :) Anyone here? This evening saw PHatty prowling the coast at Whitley Bay but I was on my mountain bike at the time. Tried to overtake to get the best road kill ever but dispite the traffic couldn't quite catch him! :rolleyes: David

OK, it looks like my heater matrix is buggered........... My mate took the Z for a spin earlier today and said it was getting a lot hotter than usual, also the heater was all over the shop. Looked at other threads to confirm and there is a pinging sound from the footwell. Can this please be confirmed on what the prob is!! Ta in advance Rich:(

I currently own a peugeot 306 gti-6. There is nothing wrong with the gti-6 as it is a pretty fast little car (0-60 at 6.85 is my best!). However, I love the shape of the 300 ZX and am looking into buying one. What can I get for 4.5 - 5K? How expensive is routine servicing? Is it easy to do oil changes yourself (unlike gti-6). What is the cheapest insurance anyone have on here and who is it with? Cheers in advance!

Hi, I have aftermarket side skirts on my 300 that came with the car from japan. the problem is the doors are catching them all along the bottom (only just) - it doesnt effect the opening/shutting of the doors but is causing unsightly marks to the skirts (white showing through where the paint has worn off). Im also worried about it taking the paint off the bottom of the doors and causing future rust points!! :( Any ideas on how to sort this problem out?? Thanks Tom
