my auto box has gone again it was rebuilt 10 months ago and under 4 thousand miles it was serviced 1 month ago by the gear box specialist and has 12 months guarantee the car runs at 15psi and has been chipped, decated and induction. will the garage say the car is not standard so no guarantee? i can take the boost tips out easy,so it will run at standard boost any advice on this or personal experience on the matter (no manual conversion suggestions please!!!) steve

Guys some more assistance please. Following on from the "problem" threads, I have been able to gain entry to my car (which has a Meta 999t alarm with remote central locking). The manual lock can be moved on the inside of the passenger door, and the door opened. This cannot be done on the drivers door. The lock will move but doesn't seem to activate anything, and the outside handle seems to be unattached to anything. It was suggested that this may be due to a discharged battery, but I can now say that isn't the case, my battery is holding 13.7 volts. Has anyone any further ideas please? Simon.

i've got a leak at the back of the engine just under some other bits! back right hand side of engine bay is there any thing there i should be aware of before removing to get at the hose hopefully it just needs tightening should i drain the cooling system first?

thought it was a warped disc but not sure as im driving along and dont really need to brake that hard the car will start to vibrate and the steering wheel will shake quite bad side to side any ideas.

Whats the max PSI i can put the boost up to on a standard engine?

Do ya know anything about the cat converter light on the dash if it comes on & flickers do ya know what that means cheers Dale

Looking for a Z mechanic in and around Reading or Berkshire. Mike very kindly put me in touch with Peter at PPS, but he is proving difficult to get hold of. Anyone know of anybody elese? My Z blew a water hose the other day and a local chap fixed that, but now it is all back together, it is running like a dog- sounds as if its not firing on one or more cylinders. What do any of you guys think- does it sound like I have cooked the engine or does it sound more like it hasnt been put back together incorrectly and possibly an electrical or fuel problem? GOT A 300ZXTT 91 on a J plate, uk spec what spec would it be?

I had my car serviced recently and I asked for it to be tuned on the rolling road. Problem is that my car is an auto, every time the mechanic tried to add resisance to the rolling road, the cheeky little bitch would kick down and try to jump out of the rolling road. i know it's a standard car with a standard ecu but can it be tuned up and adjusted or would i be wasting my time? :hyper: If it is possible where is the best place to go?

Hi guys, My beloved Z has not been used for a while, it has been sat around me parents tucked out of the way whilst im saving to get it sorted, after deciding not to break it. Problem 1, the battery has gone dead, not bad in itself BUT; PROBLEM 2, I have completly covered filled and covered locks in doors with metal and filler, PROBLEM 3, I have fitted a tailgate skin and the lock is no longer in the boot, PROBLEM 4, my Z is now an ornament as it can not be used. how do you know if the clutch is gone in an auto box mine is really tempremental its only been rebuilt about 2.5k ago it keeps reving out before changing gear ive set the tps changed the gear box ecu things did get a bit better been out in her today and it screams away in every gear like the clutch is slipping im thinking about one of those hks gear change things any ideas thanks steve

The boost seems to be pritty dodgy, first of all the other might i took the car for a run and i was lucky to get a boost above 0.4, but then the next day it goes back to normal 0.7-0.8. This has happened a coulpe of times. Any ideas? Also whats the highest i can turn the boost up to on a standard engine?

How do the rear speakers come out? I need to tighten up a few screw as one of them is rattling. Ta, Dave

I fitted some porterfield pads last weekend. Coated the back of them with copper ease and also the caliperridges with copper ease. The bloody things are are sealing like pigs on the slightest touch. Took them out and gave thena good clean and still squeeling. I'm thinking of ginding the egdes down very slightly so they are not so square. Anyone else had a bad case or Brake squeel with these pads ? If so what did you do ? Thought I'd just mention that apart from the squeel these pads kick ar$e. The car brakes so much better than the kaky EBC red stuff I had in before.

fellas i have blown the speeod KPH to MPH convertor ....fitted some indiglo dials and stupidly connected it A**e about T*T Positive to Negative now i am stuck in KPH ..does anyone know who sells them ?? or if theycan be repaired cheerZ :slap:

Will a HKS ALC off a TT fit work on a N/A ? Also, looking at the photos, its a simple looking box of electronics, what does it do that the standard Nissan set cant do? Aside from performance, does your autobox benefit from it at all driving normally? Thanks John

ive noticed if ive had a good run,pull up at some lights i can smell a really wiffy fuel smell! is this normal.I know u get it to some extent but it is quite bad,couid it be the z is running to rich or,do i just put up with it, Ive checked the fuel lines there fine,going to get some braided ones a.way!I think the heat that comes of these cars is unbelievable,and probably emphasizes the fuel smell.any of you have this problem :)

Jock was helping me remove my top water pipe today in order to replace the two short rubber pipes connecting it to the engine (one of 'em is split :( ) This requires the removal of three bolts using a long reach hex tool. The first one we tried (top right) has sheared the inside of the hex slot making it impossible to turn :mad: Have since tried a couple of ideas but without success... Finally ran out of time today and I had to leave the car on Jock's drive :cry: Have removed the fan shroud and the rad to give as much room to work as possible but it's very difficult to get anything in there to work with.. Does anyone have any ideas how to get this bo…

My drivers side headlight (the outer, round one) stopped working. Just taken the bulb out and it's fine. No voltage on the 2-pin chunky Nissan connector (damn!). The other side works fine. Saying that, all 3 bulbs are on, and I'm sure only the 2 outers would be normally(?!). Dunno, can't really remember. Anyway, when I stick full-beam on, I get the passenger side large one (oblong) on, and nothing else. WTF?! Just to confuse things a little more... when I'm supposed to be on dipped beam, I get a half-bright full beam light on the dash. On full beam (one bulb!) the full beam dash light goes out altogether. Anyone have any idea WTF is going on?! Is there a fuse so…
