Just logged on to the forum to check a few PM's that have come in (as indicated by an e-mail alert) only to find that the PM service has disappeard? Can't see it at the top of the screen (where it shows how many messages you've got) nor in the user cp section. What's going on? Cheers! Danny

Spotted on the side of the A611, at the Bestwood Roundabout of the Hucknall by-pass. N reg 300ZX N/A, in white, two ladies inside, one in the back and pone in the passenger seat. Would have stopped to see what was wrong, but had to drop somthing off, but decided to stop if you were still there on my way back. But when I returned there was a large white van behind you. Hope you got sorted.

Is it just my car or are all Zed's brakes cr@p when cold? I was driving down the road this morning & some fooker pulled out in front of me as per usual. I stamped on the brakes & next to nothing, pretty scary to be honest!

Hello, I am a brand new user here and have just purchased a Zed and need a little guidance please. I have searched the forum but as I am a total nightmare with anything mechanical nothing makes a great deal of sense. I got the car at a great price, followed the buying guide and everything came up to scratch, however at idle the right (drivers side) exhaust 'splutters'. The idle itself is very smooth and performance wise it is superb, the left hand exhaust is smooth as silk. Once the car has been running the 'splutter' tends to disappear for a while but if left to idle, after a few minutes it will start again. One of my mates reckons it may be running …

I got my exhaust done on friday, its a straight through from the downpipes (no cats or silencers) Picked the car up and drove it about for a day and everything was fine! All of a sudden the car started idleing very badly and keeps cutting out on idle! Iv checked the following items Resetting the ECU for the exhaust system, cleaning the TPS and its not a vacuum leak either! I got a mechanic to quickly look over the car and he mentioned that he thinks the timing might be out! Does any1 have any ideas what is up with my Zed as time is dearly running out! Could the spark plugs be at fault here! He also mentioned its miss-firing alot! …

I've just taken delivery of oil temp and oil pressure gauges. They both have senders (sensors) with them. My question is, are all oil pressure sendors the same, i.e. can I replace the one on the car with the new one and wire both gauges (new one and OEM one on the dash) into it or do I have to have both senders installed? I am told by a reliable source that if I hold the footbrake and accelerate until the rear wheels start to slip - then off the brake and boot it, it is possible to do a fairly impressive standing burnout in my auto :hyper: ? having tried it last night i have to say the results are v impressive :rofl: :rofl: very starsky and hutch :rofl: :rofl: what I want to know is is this gonna cause undue damage other than a bit of pad wear -until the wheels start spinning and some rubber loss?? if it isnt the best way then what is in an auto (apart from fitting a line lock which I am thinking about) cheers

Hi just got myself a 300zx i want to re-charge the gasses in the air con but it takes R12 gas that is no longer used. i have found a few people that use an alternative gas called RS24 is this ok to use ???? other people have said about converting to R134a gas. i dont know what to do :cry: . can anyone point me in the right direction or give me some advice on what to do... thanks for you help LEE

Hi When ideling, if I turn my lights on the revs drop about 100 rpm, if I close the window and continue to press the button after it has closed the revs also drop. Also when I pulling away with my headlights on, about a second after I pull away the light dip very slighly for a fraction of a second. I have checked the battery and it is fine...

As i was wiring up the car for some fog lights i needed to disconnect the battery......... About an hour later i rec-connected it and drove off the pick up the missus when it warmed up i put my foot down and noticed power that wasn't there before,could the ECU somehow have re-set iself? When she drove it she also noticed it was quicker?????

My has been missing recently so I checked the car out and found the AAC valve connection to have broken off, so i replaced the connector and now the AAC valve is connected, but on idle the car is on a costant 1500 rpm, I have also swapped the AAC valve and still have the same problem, what else can it be??? CheerZ

Im gonna get the TPS cleaned but if the car still idles funny and doesint sound to good when idleing and still has the hesitation! hello guys. just thought this might be of help to you as you know my zed has been of the road now for 2 years ( no jokes please its breaking my heart ) LOL!! :shock: ok then the zed is in my garage with the rear of the interior stripped out no front or rear bumper no doors no roof glass ( roof panels completely stripped glass removed) its all coming off to do a full restoration and respray with a nice body kit, i thought it might be usfull to tell you lot if any one want to know what is behind any of the panels or trim or anything to save you stripping panels of your own zed :hyper: hope this is of some help to someone ;)

After my recent post about all the parts waiting in my garage waiting to be fitted and all the other peoplein the same boat! It struck me that maybe some of us in the local area should get together and have a day where we all help do one small task on each others cars, any takers?

just did an ecu check comes up with code 55 great!! did left&right o2 sensor test fine!! 1/was going to post some pics but cameras not working,basically on the ecu itself theres a metal badge about 6"long saying STEALTH is that normal or does that mean its been uprated. 2/theres a loom coming out of the ecu not connected to anything just lying next to it WHY and whats it for. the reason i did an ecu test was a general thing really,and ive been getting alot of smoke on start up.and oil build up in the backbox i thought turbos but its only on start up once been for a 5min run its gone and doesent appear at all,boosts all the way up and pulls like f*…

been out this morning and taken the mig tips out my car trying to get it to run as close as poss to standard taking it back to gear box place tomorrow but it still runs at about 11psi on a after market gauge how come its higher than standard a chip wont up the boost will it? steve

I am taking delivery of my 92' zx twin turbo(black) from Japan in two weeks time. I have been reading up on it and buying a few bits in preparation but I have a few questions. - I am trying to get a new set of wheels for it, however most of the local 'boy racer' shops obviously cant cater for the car. I was thinking of putting on a set of eighteens with 265's at the rear and 235's at the front. Is this a good set up? I was advised by the local 'boy racer' shop that they could get 265's on all round, surely this is going to affect the handling? Any trusted wheel dealers names and addresses would be gratefully recieved. - The only other real change I want to make to …
