General Discussions - 300ZX Related

I was wondering if some-one could tell me what plugs I should be using. I have a 90 tt auto with a jwt chip and 14 psi, so should I be running a cooler plug or not

I still have the same problem, start the engine from cold, ticks over fast at 1-2000 rpm, then as it warms, slows down......then fooking splutters and coughs to a stall. My heater matrix blew recently, so i have overidden the the matrix heater pipes by joining the two pipes up on the engine bay side, no the the matrix inlet pipes, i've join the ones on the engine. Have i missed something? Another funny thing is happening, you know it has 3 inlet manifolds eigther side right, well the left hand side manifolds get very hot very quickly, whereas the right hand ones stay cold, and i mean cold, is this normal? I'm guessing not. Is these problems all related, see…

Shall I mount the turbos on the manifold first and then put the manifold on the engine? Or should I put the manifold in the engine first and then put the turbos on? Any suggestions?

STrange occurrence, My 300 is a non start- 2 things went to change the A/c belt - took the pas pump belt off, put on the new a/c belt , refitted a slightly dodgy pas pump belt, went to start her up , no go and the pas belt let go. now no pas belt and no spark Any one got any ideas, she was running fine yesterday.

I've removed all the rubber hoses as I'm bypassing them all. Now it's all in bits I can't quite work out where the metal lines under the plenum go to. Can I remove them both? I think they are mainly water pipes but there's a couple of vacuum type ones there that I'm not sure if I can easily bypass. Chris.

Just got back from a 50-mile thrash through the countryside, got out the car and heard a fizzing leaking sound, as if a fluid was trying to escape through a tiny hole, coming from behind the nearside rear wheel. It slowed down after 5 mins, but when I rocked the back of the car it started up again. I'm worried :( Any ideas?

im about to fit a new viscous fan,to do this i need to remove the shroud surrounding the fan , ive removed the upper screw below the rad cap, the one on the left is directly below the upper water hose!im doing a collant change anyway so that can come off.Do u need to be under the car to sepparate the upper shroud from the lower,i know its a dickhead of a question but i think its clipped together hope u can help cheers greg :)

Well, just been up to get my aircon charged up after getting my second hand compressor fitted. Whole thing went really well. (cheers for the compressor Jock, it’s working a treat :) ) Unfortunately, as the guy was testing it he noticed the aircon fan didn’t come on. He waited until the pressure was nearly up to 300 (psi I guess??) to see if it was on a pressure switch but nowt happened. When should this come on? Should it work as soon as the aircon compressor is engaged? Is there a way to test it? Is there something simple like a fuse that might have blown?? Frustrating knowing that it all works but can’t risk using it!! Cheers David

I fitted my new rear shocks yesterday a very easy straight forward job took me an hour and a half and i'd never replaced a shocker before :dance: it has totally transformed the cars handleing the old shocks were completely shot! the springs on the car must be uprateded (blue) I'm a happy bunny today :duffer: just got to fix that water leak now why does it only start to leak when you turn the engine off? :cry: owning a zed is a real rollercoaster ride of emotions

My cars seams to be hitting a restricter about 7000 when I drive it hard,but when i take it up slowly this does not happen .Running with a JWT chip no boost jets ,done the pcv's in last 3 weeks but promblem was there before. come guys any idea no this one ,been left with my pants round my ankles at the lights lately by some pi55 poor cars :xxx:

Hi, I'm needing to replace my fuel pump, are there any recommendations as to what I should go for? Are any of the after market pumps better than the standard Nissan job? My 300 is standard apart from a JWT ECU and Apexi Boost Controller so no major fuel needs I guess. Thanks for you advice. John

Wouldnt you think ordering a few bits from the nissan main dealer would be fairly easy!!!! eerrrmmm no All i want is to re new my main bearings etc but they just dont know which ones to order i have given them all the numbers they have asked for and now there telling me i have to measure the bearings!!?? Me new engine has these... :hyper: I've just read some terrible terrible things about the breather kit. What does it allow to breathe exactly? Does it just take some of the load off the PCVs? After reading the old threads I'm inclined to get shot of it - any thoughts? And is this a clue to who owned the red auto writeoff in question? (Cambelt change was done at C&S at 70odd K)

Hi I am going to view a Zed tomorrow and have been told that the following small problems require attention. 1. Air Con compressor is seized 2. Electric aerial doesn't extend/retract 3. Front bumper lightly scraped at bottom 4. Passenger mirror glass "drooping" How easy and what cost would the above work entail?? The car is a 1990, N/A, Targa Top, Manual with 52,000 miles on it. Imported 4 years ago with Full UK SH, Any other checks to carry out or things to look out for ????? Cheers
