hi both of my seat belts have gone strange, they used to retract fine when uncliped or when you turn the ignition off, they'd zip back, but know they just sit there and you have to feed them back in your self, WELL ANOYING! is there any sensor or something like that, that could have gone? seems strange that both have gone together. thanks very much Jim

Maybe I notice them more since I got mine but I've seen 4 in the last couple of weeks. One Purple with outrageous body kit, but it does live opposite my flat so I've seen it every day for the last couple of years. One red UK in Westcliff Another Red one in Westcliff Yellow one on the front between S'end and Shoebury Any more for me to spot? Is there some reason they are so popular here, appart from the fact they are sh1t hot?

I will be doing this when the chuffing thing turns up (supposed to be here today... so I'm gonna end up doing this one evening next week rather than on a lesiurely BH Sunday :( ) I've had a search around but can't see much apart from "wanted" or "for sale"! So any hints, tips, dos, don'ts, magic tools required, etc? I'll put together a writeup when I do it. :hyper:

...strange this one... I've got the opportunity to test a new product being launched into this country from the US. Basically it adds platinum to the combustion process and offers abour 20% savings in fuel (its sold as a fuel-saving device) or alternatively about 10% extra power - and about 70% better emissions. It's been in the US for a long time, sold mainly to big diesel trucks. This is the new petrol version. Idea is that we dyno my 1990 NA with everything standard, then remove the cats and fit Coogs stainless exhaust (I get a ''free'' exhaust), and see what the bhp gain is with cats gone and a freer-flowing exhaust (as relatively standard upgrade). Then we add t…

RPS? ACT? Anything else to be considered? Is there one considered better or is it down to personal preference? I mean, are there any particular characteristics of either? RPS is £345 / RPS MAX series with slave cyl (that I need anyway) £420 from Smithy ACT is £399 from MJP Thanks guys, any info or comments appreciated. Yes, I am thinking of going manual.

I've tried to remove the rear disk (drivers side) of my Zed as it was squeaking like hell. For some strange reason it doesn't want to budge. I've slackened off the handbrake by turning that wheel in the rear hub but that didn't make any difference. I've even shown it the hammer  The passenger front & rear disks came off very easily!

Hi All, It's been a while since my last post... Damn it feels like a confession to the local vicar!! :D Anyway, I was wondering if you guys could advise me on 2 things... 1. How much of an increase in insurance is an import verses a UK. I know there are variations but a rough estimate would be great... 2. What alternatives are there for putting fog lights on import cars... I cdan't remember where the UK car rear fog light is.... Cheers chaps... Ben

Just got my insurance renewal in today. Fully comp, legal cover, breakdown cover, 4000miles limited a year, car not garaged but parked up the drive ,no mention of a thatcham or otherwise, it is a classic and collectors policy, one named driver only,,, £247 !!! Bearing in mind its only used as a second car and I am rather old (ish) That doesnt sound too bad !! Unless any one can beat it ?? If so let me know, coz I have been with this company for a few years now and it might be worth shopping around.

Guy's, I have a strange missfire on tickover and upto about 2000 - 2500rpm. I Have swapped the coil packs about and this hasn't made a difference. I took the spark plug out to see what that was like and the end was black so I mire brushed it and cleaned it up and put it back it but no difference. The injector is firing fine. When I take the coil pack connector off it doesn't make any difference to the engine running like all the others do. I have heard it may be the PCV valves. I have done a visual inspection of these and the left bank one (where the missfire is) looks ok, but the right hand side one seems to be leaking oil (?!). Would that be making the difference? …
