How do i tell if my zed has been chipped? if it has and the HKS EVC is disconnected will this cause problems eg my code 34 at the moment (replacing plugs tomorrow) if i disconnect the battery to reset the ECU then reconnect and run the engine for 10-30 seconds then turn it off will this then give me a diagnostics flash on the dash! or is this an urban legend if the new plugs dont solve it is a knock sensor bypass worth trying or should i take it to some one to find out exactly what my zed has and get it all reconnected any help apprietiated 3 weeks of Zed ownership - £££££££££££

Got a 91 n/a ZX with auto problems, car is changing up too late and I need some help sorting it out, Paul Crew came over and swopped TPS etc but no effect (Big thank you to Paul) Andy Duff was sending some ecu's to try out but unfortunately unable to get hold of him, so I dont know if that is happening or not. I need an analysis done on the car to see exactly what is going on any ideas about garages or clubs nearby that have the right equipment? The 300ZX doesn't do enormous MPG. Has anyone thought about converting to autogas or whatever it's called?

Hi all, I have just had my KYB AGX shocks fitted today (many thanks to Matt aka MTL for doing such a great job for me) and am just wondering what is the best damping setting to run them on. I have it on the hardest all round at the moment and it handles well but is very hard to drive on the bumpier roads. Can the damping rate affect the handling in other ways? Cheers, Justin:)

OK who are you??? Fantastic bit of kit was cruising the town of Loughborough last Friday night about 9pm. Red in colour, it sounded and looked superb with about 1000watts of stereo installed. Went well too. I was going to say hello, but I had a prior engagement with the Spanish Tapas Bar (sorry but food is 1st and I was starving!!! :) ) Whoever you were, I raise my class to you....CHEERS!!! :duffer:

My car usually starts first time every time. However of late I have noticed that after a long run, stopping for say half hour and getting back in the car, it turns over then the idle falls away and thus cuts out? Any clues????????? Cheers

Putting the power down to come onto the slip road yesterday in the wet, when all of a sudden I felt the back-end "snake" quite considerably. I was able to keep the car under control but I was a tad twitchy about flooring in the wet. This happened between the 1st and 2nd gear change, which is usually a little bit snatchy anyhow. Has anyone else experienced this? Would having traction control help or is this something far more sinister? Cheers

OK, since before the THOR RR day my Z has been running seriously rich. I now need help to diagnose the problem. Firstly, when the engine is cold/warm there is a very minor missfire. Secondly, when the engine has got to normal temp (middle of the gauge) the missfire is worst. Thirdly, On stock boost, the missfire is pretty bad, it gets worst higher up the rev range. Lastly, If i turn up the boost eg 12 - 14.5psi the higher the boost the worst the missfire. At 15psi it wont even rev by 5000rpm. Today, Me and a mate changed the plugs and put a smithy's fuel line kit on. I didn't do this to cure the problem it's just to say that it's not the plugs. …

Hi everybody, My car is 92 no turbo Z, I will order a rebuild twin turbo engine for my car. I contact with the supplier, the record show blow, I am not quit sure the meaning, could any body explan to me, thank you.:(The most important thing i care is what is the BHP after I fit the TT engine) 1) Yuan, you will not gain anything in hp when you fit the TT engine as the computer and the fuel system dictate the power. 2) Yuan, the engine will fit OK just maybe a lower compression because of the turbo specification. It may be less power than you have now. Rebuilt engine will need a run-in period of 1000 miles or 1500 Kms below 4000 rpm then it w…

I just wanted to say that I got my ASEV AS rims back today from the refurbishers. I used Lepsons and I can't recommend them enough. They came back completely mint and the service and turnaround was fantastic. Only took a week, which isn't bad for split rims. They aren't the cheapest around but I guess you get what you pay for. So if anyone needs their wheels refurbished then give them a call. 01634 580582. Cheers Chris
