Gurgling sound from vacuum pipe at the rear o/s front wing on tick over what do I need to fix it??? :confused:

okay...........my zed is in the garage cos the thing kept on cutting out on me when i was driving thro town a coulpe of days ago, the engine would stop and my lights on the dash would come on, now this happened every few hundred meters or so then cut out again, I ended up calling out the AA and he advised me that this could be the crank sensor, but the bloke from the garage has just phoned phoned and told me that the ecu wouldn't give a correct code but he says that due to the problems i've had with the ptu he personaly thinks it's that. does any body have a clue as to what the hell is going on and where can I get a 2nd hand ptu from cos my local nissan are quoting me £22…

How much play is ok? Anyone know? Cheers Mathew

ever since I have had the car, the left exahst occasionaly spills out smoke. It isnt every time, if I leave the car to tick over, say on turbo timer its worse and when i start the car up and pull away, it leaves a smoke screen. Its only one side. have done a compression check ond all is well. Any ideas?

Hi All Replacing cats (smallish job but 4 studs are broke in :( ) Looking up into my turbos and they are thick with carbon, I'm not suprised as they look to be originals after 80K. Just wondering if anyone has ever tried any of that carbon cleaning product that you spray into the intake with the car running? Can't do any harm can it?..................or can it? I think I'm being silly as I bet you could'nt shift it with a wire brush. :o Anyone any thought's Cheers

just been caning along the M1 at about 70 (give or take...) and noticed a strange springy/knocking noise that seemed to come from slightly behind the glove box (but still inside the car)! The noise happens intermittently every 2 or 3 secs, and only after a certain speed (75ish). This happens on a straight flat road at constant speed! I know my front tension rod bushes are boogered but i couldnt feel any bump etc. in the car or steering wheel. (and no there's nothing loose in my glove box! :) ) any ideas?

Can anyone tell what sort of price i'd be looking at for a slight brake up grade nothing top notch just better discs and pads and also how can i tell if a caliper has ceased?? I have never liked the brakes on the Z so want something a bit better and hopefully stop the bloody squeaking i have had for months even after changing the front pads. Thanks all. Ant :)

Yesterday was driving about no problem, went to start car this morning and nothing. The starter motor doesn't turn, ignition lights come on and when try to start I hear a faint click behind the dash but nothing else. I have taken ignition fuses out and checked visually, they look ok. Trying to work out if it is faulty immobiliser or something else. Please help. Thanks.

Hi all would anyone be interested in fitting a chip into my ecu :) I have looked at it myself but it looks a bit to fidley for me to go Messing about in there :shock: PS i have got a chip just needs fitting thanks..........................ian

i had to sort a coolent leak yesterday and as a result topped up the rad and bled the system etc...all ok...except it now feels less zoomy...so when looking at the turbo timer reading of cmHg 50 (flat out) which i believe comes to about 9psi does this mean i'm now in safety?...

Does anyone know if the caliper recon kits are different for the ally and iron calipers on the z32? Also, where do ally calipers come from - are they off jap import cars?

Do these (dual piston- i think) dump valves work well on the 300? do they sound well? Thanks

We having a peek under the Zed last night and spotted a pipe which seemed to lay a bit low. It wasn't loose or ought and I think the position it was in was the correct one but it just seemed like it wasn't as high as it could be. The pipe it self was on the drivers side, just to the side of the oil filter and seemed to go in to the exhast(couldn't see all that wee as it wasn't on ramps. Anyone know which one I mean? and is it a cause for concern?

Is a standard exhaust the same for a UK TT and an import TT? :rolleyes:

How do you remove the black plastic trip along the bottom of the side windows without breaking either it or scratching the paintwork? Mine now looks so disgusting that unless you can get a replacement set of the 4 pieces for sensible amounts of cash its time for the trim paint to come out

Can anyone do me a favour, what it is, my car has recently blown a couple of AAC valves, hence my idle still being high. I tested the connectors to see if the power is coming through, on one of the connectors the power is one positive(+) and one negative(-), but on the other connector both the wires are producing a positive(+) current, one is less strong than the other. Is this normal??? Also when applying the tester on this connector I can hear a clicking noise??? Can anyone please check and let me know if this right? Would help me a lot....CheerZ

When the turbos kick in around 3-4000 Rpm the clutch slips, this has gradually gotten worse it used to just happen when putting the foot down in 5th gear. Is this just the clutch? Where would i get a quite cheap clutch from? Cheers Paul

Anyone know of a good OZ wheel supplier. Went into a shop and they say they are not avaliable for the Z. It was not a proper wheel shop.

Still have the strange problem with my car smoking from drivers side! I am not convinced it is the turbo [well talking myself out of it] Had my car in the garage this eve carrying out a conzult check on the tps. The car was warm, been back from work......about 10 mins so plugged in conzult and had the car ticking over..................after about 2/3 mins the drivers side exuast started belching out smoke and i meen belching.
