i was just leaving Quedgley (Gloucester) the other night when i saw some nice projector lights come up behind me a bit quick. had a closer look and saw the front of a Z. i Was over the moon to see one behing and as i came round the island i booted my car (Peugeot 405 TD) and released all the 75bhp. as i did, i realised i wasnt in the Z and that being overtaken was a foregon conclusion so i gave up. it sounded like an N/A as it came past (sounded bloody nice, too) and all i saw of it after that was some lights flickering up ahead. next time i plan to be in a real car (Z) and then i may make a race of it. cheers for the reminder of how good they are though. its given me a n…

Well, After blowing the HGs back in October my Z is finally back on the road and judging from the 100 or so miles I drove her tonight, going very nicely indeed. All in all I had the engine replaced, heater matrix fitted, R32 brake discs, new brake pads, new rear bushes, new clutch, speedo fixed, a 60k mile service (inc. cambelt) carried out. That's following a new centre propshaft bearing and some front bushes which Jeff fitted for me in September. I must thank the people who made it happen. Dave C for supplying a replacement engine, Andy Z for various essential bits & pieces, Ryan at ZTech for rushing me a set of bushes just before Christmas and most of a…

Hope you all had a good one :duffer: The problem I have had over the festive period is. On cold start up a little bit of smoke has been coming out of the pipes, but once on my way the smoke dissapears. Thought it might have been a blown oil seal on one or both of the turbos, problem is boost goes to full positive when booting and at warm idle stays just above the minus 7. Also noticed some oil spatters on my garage door when it has been warmed, could it be head gasget or anything like that?

Hi, First off ill say hello, since I havent posted before ill just say my names Seb and I currently drive a Rover 600 2.0 Ti but am planning on trading it in for a 300ZX. Im specifically after a 3.0 V6 Targa 3d (280bhp?), I dont like auto gearboxes, they take the fun out of driving imo. What should I look out for when buying? Any tips? Any frequent faults to look for, bad signs etc? I just basically need to know everything there is to know! :) On another topic, the reason I came here is because I saw a 300ZX (red I think) at the island (round-about) in coventry (where theyre building the new football stadium) and it had 300zx.co.uk stuck all ov…

Is anyone out there running a Catless NA? Does it make a difference and how much louder is it? I have a pair of frontpipes ready to go on but im umming and arring whether to add a small pair of silencers to them because being an old fart, im past the stage of loud exhausts. The car has a Mongoose system on it now and its just the right side of bearable noise on a long Journey .

Right - I've got a UK spec TT with a faulty speedo cluster and need to sort myself out with a speedo reading before I have a run in with the plod... I realise I have a few ideas options open to me and was wondering if anyone else had chosen a particular solution over the others. Here are my suggestions 1) Buy new/second hand UK spec cluster 2) Buy J-Spec cluster and convert 3) Buy some aftermarket electronic wizard box which gives me a digital speed readout, 0-60 times, etc. This is what I think about each idea 1) Difficult to source s/h part, OEM replacement is expensive 2) Possibly a good option - how do I convert it though? Any cavea…

Hi I bought a car DVD player the other day with a seperate monitor and it plugs into the cig lighter theres a headphone socket on the dvd player which one end is a jack plug and the other is three auxilary leads the instructions stated that these are to be used as auxillary in, to go into an external source. SO I plugged them into my car Sony CD player. Now when the ignition is on and the unit is working through the speakers etc it is bloody ace surround sound and all that in my car. but as soon as I start my engine Iget a whistle through the speakers gets louder as you accelerate. etc Now all my leads seem fine and obviously it works great when the en…

Hi there, this is my first post so go easy. Had my car for a few months now (its a 1991 TT Manual Jap Import), and have been suffering with the age old 300zx problem of a misfire. Originally the car didn't want to idle, i did all of the usual things, connectors, plugs (replaced), changed the fuel filter (checked the pressure) etc. but still ran like a bag of Sh*t. Had it in a garage and they found the Drivers side O2 sensor was knackered. They changed this but it didn't seem to make a discernable difference. At this point i changed one of the coil packs as it was cracked around the stem, and also the Idle control valve. Still the same. Put it back into the garage and they…
