I have a 90 TT Targa auto Jap spec, It recently had an engine rebuild due to a knackered radiator. Cut a long story short, the engine has been done very well, but the wiring was completley butchered and am currently trying to repair all the faults!! : 1) Speedo goes hay wire, 100mph when stationary!!! Impressive but annoying!! 2) Power steering intermitant, suspect air in system 3) the most important!!!! It seems that sometime the car goes like the proverbial of a shovel the next its flat! I never know whether its going to go or not! I have replaced all the turbo and coolant hoses with piperX ones so there shouldn't be a leak! Is there a Safety boost limit that migh…

Just had a local garage fit some rear tires. Had a look at the car yesterday and they've damaged the rim on one alloy quite badly and it will need refurbishing. They said the old tyre wouldn't come off and that's why it happened. I've not yet paid for the work or picked up the car, so where do I stand? Personally I think they should have called me when the tyre wouldn't come off so I could accept the risk of the alloy being damaged or taken it somewhere else to be done....

I'm sure this has been discussed on here before, and I have heard one or two opinions against fitting dump valves to Z's, but does anyone have any experience in running the HKS SSBOV dumps (or any other BOV's for that matter) on a TT? I have just fitted a z-tech ecu, which has made a marked improvement over the stock unit, and want to add a few more bits. But do dump to atmosphere valves work with the air flow meters in our cars? I have heard of the problems you can run into with unburnt fuel causing hesitation and backfiring when changing gear. But I only plan to run up to 14psi as a maximum. What do you reckon?

Hi All I am going to fit a Greddy Profec B spec 2 to my TT in a few weeks, and was just wondering if it is possible to drive an electronic boost gauge e.g. a Greddy one, from the boost controller, or one of the inputs into the controller, instead of having to plumb two boost pressure sensors into the engine bay? If this isn't possible, then is anybody else out there using a Spec 2 with the boost display? If so, what's it like to read on the move? Do you really need a gauge as well? Cheers, would also appreciate any recomendations for someone in the London area who you would trust to fit the boost controller to a Z, though I might have a go myself! Dere…

apart from the likley hood of failing an mot, err bothered, im feeling the need to decat. For obvious reasons i want to get rid of my cats but after speaking to ryan at ztech and reading a thread in the tuning and mods part of the FAQ, i get the impression that they are the main cause of turbo failure, and the changing of PCV valves/ seals, cant remeber which is correct, can help prevent this happening WTF is a PCV valve/ seal???? Are they expensive to change/ check??? If, and thats a BIG IF, who sells them and how much. Ive had a quote of SUMO power and they want £284 +vat+p&p. which works out at £350 i think... is this a …

Any ideas? Just been to get in the car and put the sounds on, but there seems to be no power at all to the headunit, the power arial doesn't go up, no power to the amp... nothing. It worked fine 2 hours ago... I've checked all the fuses I can see, but no problems there? Where is the fuse for the stereo normally? I couldn't see it labelled on the fuse holder cap? Just had some hoses changed on the power steering, as there was a slight leak. Now I am getting a intermittent loss of power assistance while driving, most disconcerting, OK while stationary and at very low speed. Just goes and comes back again whhile driving, not a complete loss just gets noticably heavier! Could it be air in the system? or something else? Was all ok before hoses changed!
