hi i'm new to the club and have a problem with my N/A Z31 auto. when it's cold (i know this not to be a fault) it doesn't engage overdrive, thats fine and all gear changes are smooth. when it warms up enough to engage overdrive all gearchanges (up or down) with throttle over half down there is a heavy vibration as the rev's settle into gear. lasts about 2 seconds. it affects all gear changes except 1 -2 and 2 - 1 if anyone can point me the direction i need to look to sort i will appriciate it.

I have bought a PTU2 and want to replace my old PTU1 will the connectors fit or are they different ? I've had a bonnet vent for 5 months and this makes water hit the belts and the PTU / temp sensor electrics. The electric fan now comes one even at startup (engine cold) and somtimes the Z runs as rough as an old dog until you take it to 3000 rpm then runs fine. Then after 1-2 mins runs smooth ! I'm planning to reposition the PTU to the nearside arch and make a belt shroud or something ! If anyone could let me know about the PTU connectors that'd be great

when i was making my short shifter and put i back together my dashboard light was gone. i must say that it drives more pure without an speed and rpm meter (everbody should try this) but i still want to fix this. its only the light that is gone all the clocks are still working so is my illumination switch on the radio.

Could somebody please tell me if it is possible to run 2 boost gauges? I have a blitz electronic gauge that measures in kg/cm or bar which is running from a t-piece in the pipe off the balance bar. I want to run a digital gauge as well that measures psi and i was wondering if whether putting another t-piece in the pipe and running it off that would give me correct readings. Any help would be much appreciated!

i just had a clifford alarm fitted now my hicas light is on as is my abs n when floorin the beast it sticks at 4000 rpm and doesn,t want to do much please please help is it because of alarm or somethin else :headvswal

What does a prop shaft vibration feel like? I got this thing going on with my car. It's fine below 30mph, Then a fast, road speed connected vibration near the centre of the car rises. It's not very bad but is definitely there. Worst at 50 mph, better a bit at 70 and then sort of fades away a bit at 90. (not that I went that fast!) If you think it is the prop shaft balancing, is it a big job. I've just had the centre bearing replaced, but it has been OK for a few hundred miles and only started after a lay up of a month......... so ive followed those instructions...had it lookin pretty good actually..im a dab hand at the soldering lark..plugged it in..it worked for a bit..now it works even more infrequently..is a common problem for these to just not switch on at all and then sometimes switch on and be fine? I just wondering what the resistor thing fixed or whether mines related to something else?

since fitting front strut brace bonnet wont close 100% true :headvswal anyone else had this problem?do you think by removing the blanket under the bonnet will help :confused: cheers greg

Over the xmas break I'm gona start the cam belt change, with a full 60K service kit (belts, water pump and tensioner). I've got the link off TT.net that shows the procedure, but was wondering if anyone has any tips on what to/what not to do? All help would be greatly appreciated. I'm also splicing in new injector, ECU temp sender and PTU connectors, but dont envisage any problems with this part of it. Thanks in advance :bow: :hyper:

here I am back to the orical! Ive got a noise on my car that only appears when it is very cold, it seems to come from the passenger side under the bonnet, its driving me potty! its a sort of air drill noise, or like like a knackered bearing on a drill, it speeds up the faster you go and gets really loud untill the car is warm. This is something not asociated with the engine, its as if there's a fan somewhere with a knackered bearing, but Ive changed the viscose bearing on the fan, but its still there, :headvswal it seems to be somewhere nearer to the passenger side. Any one have any ideas?

Hi, I pulled up behind you (in my silver Z- best colour IMHO - queue the colour wars!) after leaving the meet at the Boat Inn. You gave it large after J4 (M40), me in hot pursuit but had to back off at 110 because of a "perforated" intercooler :( and massive boost leak. Your car was bloody quick - what mods/boost are you running? I think we gave the guy in the new style Range Rover (chasing me ...) something to think about :) By the way, you had quite a lot of blue smoke coming out of the exhaust on full chat. Cheers mate! After installing my OS giken 2twin plate clutch my car revs much much better since it comes with a lightened flywheel so i'm thinikng of installing a UR pulley also to gain the 8-10hp stated and at the sametime do a timing belt change. When they say that with the pulley all belts are included does that mean that also the timing belts are included???

I ve got a small problem since i ve converted my car into man. Every time i start the car the power lamp on the dash blinks.Did anyone have a similiar problem?

Having given the Zed a good clean today I have noticed under all the dirt that some tosser has decided to make a few body mods to my car and pushed in the drivers side front wing very slightly :slap: . It is bugging me so badly that I have gotta get it sorted. I am guessing the cheapest way is to source a second hand wing in the same colour as my car and fit it. Just wanna know if its an easy job or not. Is it just a bolt off, bolt on jobby? Cheers guys, Justin.
