I don't know if anyone else has expierenced this but my Z made a loud squeak every time the brakes were applied hard. There is a rubber bellows around the brake push rod under the brake peddle with slots in it to allow the air to rush into the brake servo.I cleaned out the slots (carpet fluff!) and now no more squeak.Maybe the slots are closing up with the ageing of the rubber.

Hey! Just bought a 1992 300ZX N/A Auto as my first Jap Car, have had a Hyundai Coupe 2.0SE and a TVR Chimaera 4.5 for the last couple of years. I really want to get into the whole engine and performance aspect of owning this car. I got a few ideas of the guys at Ultimate Jap Car Cllub, Chopper advised me to come along and see if anyone else had any suggestions on what to start with for an initial jump into things. Also, I live in North Yorkshire, can anyone recommend garages or places that fit decently mods to cars, I'm fairly close to the Teeside area of the country! Cheers for your help Jon

About 1-2 miles from home this evening, floored it in 3rd gear and at about 5000rpm, felt a little hesitation. Immediatly backed off, and then noticed the Battery and ABS warning lights came on the dash. Took it steadily home (about 3-4mins), and parked on drive, then noticed water coming out from underneath car, together with the usual gurgling and hissing from overheating :( Took a look and found the belt in pic below hanging off. That explains the Dash warning lights, as alternator nolonger connected...does this also explain the overheating, as I notice belt attaches to Water pump in picture.? Im hoping water was just coming from overf…

ello, My underdrive pulley seems to have taken a bit of a beating at some point, with lots of chunks (about the diameter to a 5p coin) taken out of the rim on the back of the pulley... some (pretty poor) pics attached, just wondered if this was enough to put it out of balance... would love to fit a light weight one whilst im doing it but cant really shell out the big sheets for an unorthodox one at the moment.. Cheers Dave

The swivel joints on the end of the rear steering rack tie arms have rubber boots on them.Mine have split all the way around (expired due to old age!).Has anyone replaced just the rubber boot or do you have to purchase the complete joint?I'm guessing this would be an MOT failure in the UK so hoping someone would have encounted this problem.

Can the group please give me some advice on a problem I have with a garage... It all started when my zed went bang in Feb last year so I took it to a garage for what they quoted as been a low mileage jap engine for £1500 fitted. I took it (somewhat mistakenly) to what I thought was an established garage where I was told the turn round time would be a couple of weeks. I dropped the car off at the beginning of March and picked it up some 7-8 Weeks later (30.04.04)!! Everything looked fine with the engine so I paid my money by credit card and set off home. When I got home I notice the exhaust was nearly hitting the floor so the next morning I took it to a l…

Hi guys this is my first post on here so first of all hello to eveyone!! Ok heres my story, i have recently brought a 1991 Japanese import 2+2, Automatic, Targa Top, Non-Turbo, Nissan 300zx. I am well impressed with it accept for one problem, the car will cut out at ramdm times. It will sometimes cut out when idling, sometimes when your driving along. When your driving along it sometimes loses power then dies, sometime you canloses power then then it seems like its going to cut out but doesn;t quite, however now most if not all of the power is gone, the car will not rev above 2,500rpm or it judders and and the revs drop. This even happens in neu…

Hi all I want to install aftermarket oil and fuel pressure gauges. I saw a nice digital dual display one in the Demon Tweeks catalogue, quite pricey, but the guy on the phone was a total sales prevention officer - was very vague about fitting, just said that they both have 1/8BSP threads on the sensors. How do you normally plumb in an aftermarket oil pressure gauge / sender? Do you need to fit one of those sandwich plates between the filter? And fuel pressure? Thanks! If anyone can recommend another gauge combo that they use I would be pleased to hear... :) Cheers! Derek

I just bought a set of 3 Gauges to fit into the DIN slot in centre console. Oil Pressure, Oil Temp and volts. But been thinking, is it better to have Oil temp or Water temp ? I presumed Oil temp as its actually engine oil temp that tells you when engine has reached correct working temp ?, and I already have the stock (but crap) water temp gauge... but everyone else seems to go for aftermarket water temp gauges ?

OK, I know nearly everyone asks about the heaters, but being quite new and very cold, i have to ask.... When i put my heater on auto, and eco, i hardly get any heat from it, also, it seems that i dont get any force of air at all if the engine is cold. I can get warm air if set to approx 20 -24, but if i go higher than that, again the motor sounds as if its working, but no flow of air comes through the vents. Its really getting on my nerves, any ideas what is wrong ? cheers
