Have a performance Toyo rad. and was thinking... The standard fan on the engine, dont that create a loss of power in getting it to go round? And is there any reason I couldnt remove it and add a electric fan instead?

Evening All I have fitted a pair of Apexi dump valves this afternoon and noticed, once the intake T was off, that the pipes going down to the compressors had a thin black residue inside them. The care has an HKS 'mushroom' air filter, which was looking very black and shi**y indeed! What is the best way / best stuff to use to wash one of these things out, if at all? I had noticed a bit of a black residue in the throttle bodies too when I removed the pipes for cleaning, when I was in fact expecting black carbon deposits. I was worried the turbos might be on the way out but I am a bit more relieved now as the same oily stuff is upstream of the turbos too. Chee…

Hey, Been checking out other people's rides on here. I have to say the engine looks awsome with the hard pipes in! I've got my APexi Induction kit and grounding kit on the way thanks to Getgreddy and Pete Shrimp. Next I want to get some hard pipes in there. How do I get hold off these? Has anyone heard of a place called Motoscope in Northallerton, north Yorkshire? That's the nearest place to me that seem to specialise in performance cars. Just wondering if they might be able to do it for me! Cheers Jon

Since the cold wheather started she seems to have been occassionaly running a little erratically until fully warmed up. Feels like a couple of cyclinders not firing, but I'm not expert. The fuel consumption has also significantly gone up. Anyone got any ideas ?

Been a silly sod and managed to spill about a tea cup's worth of coolant onto the cam belt where it wraps around the crank, immediatly rinsed it off with copious ammounts of fresh water, will I be ok or is it new cam belt time (again) only done about 5000 on this belt... Cheers Dave

Just finished taking off all the cack to get to the water pump and..... its absolutely fine, 100% perfect, not a hint of damge, seems to be completly mint... NUTS.... strange as I had every symptom of a pump failure.... Oh well time to start putting it back together... Anybody got a link to an exploded diagram of the pulleys and belts (so I can reference where everything goes back!! rather than just from memory! :D ) also where the little key thingie goes in the crank for the under drive pulley, mine was missing so ryan sent me a new one (little semi circle thing) cant work out where it goes though.... :slap: Cheers Dave

OK, so the high level spoiler has got really boring now, and I want to smooth the rear ( ;) ). What kind of total price would you expect to pay for this work to be done? Cheers, Brian.

I have a leak from the front of the car, its dripping out from behind the front lower pulley, I thought it was the crank seal but after changing this at weekend realise its not, my next thought is that it is either the oil pump gasket or the regulator/relief valve seals. Can I remove the oil pump with collection pipe without removing the sump or do I have to remove the sump, has anyone on here done an oil pump exchange with the engine in? Any help is much appreciated-

Can anyone help? I am looking for the mixture screw, does anyone know where it is? I was told it is down near to the battery on the passenger side, is this correct. I cant see it. :headvswal

Hi, I'm a new 300zxtt owner (bought it on thursday) and I've got an odd problem with the steering. The car feels fine (most of the time) when cornering in either direction, but when driving straight, or turning very slightly it is very hard to keep the car going in the same direction. When going straight, the wheel tries to force itself either to the left or to the right. When turning slightly, it is easy to turn the car into the turn, but it is very "heavy" when turning back to straight. The car has been lowered (far too low in my oppinion) on Koni adjustables and is running on 18's (235 wide). Im guessing this is due to camber angles? I'…

Popped to Borth, and on the way there spotted a nice 14A parked up at the side of the road. Looking in my mirrors, I SWEAR I saw a 300ZX peaking it's nose out behind it (hidden, lower down in a garage) sure enough on the way back I stopped and had a look. Lovely blue G*** WGW..... I stopped to take a photo, but some women over the road said the owner didn't like people looking at it. so I sarpered before a big scary Welshman came out to beat me! :mac1: Anyone here?

:hurl: Hi Folks, New to the site and hoping that one of you has the answer, or at least some advice on my problem? Since dropping the suspension and fitting bigger wheels, it has become apparent that there is a serious geometry problem on the front wheels. This has been addressed initially by having to insert shims to try and achieve sufficient camber. That was a set of tyres ago, and the car is still scrubbing away quite merrily on the inside of the tread. A company in Colchester who specialise in racing conversions etc have indicated that it might require some new parts allowing the adjustment to be brought into line correctly. So, would like to have any work…

Hi everyone, I'm new to the 300ZX and don't actually own one. I am looking at possibly buying one however my wife would prefer a smaller runabout. Can anyone supply any good reasons for buying one over a runabout. I'm in the Medway area of Kent so if any local people can prove the point even better!!

Hi guys, have done a bit of a search on the site already and have a few ideas, but was wondering if anyone could help with my problem. Picked up my zx TT manual yesterday, had it imported through a company called NEWERA imports and they use a company near folkestone called MOTORMALL to do the usual UK conversions and stuff. Car was fine when i picked it up and drove brilliantly back to london, apart from the HICAS light being on for a while (from what i have read i guess i just need to check the PS fluid) and got home ok. Went to start the car this morning and just a click. Checked the voltage across the battery terminals and was reading 13.8V. Jump started t…
