Im lucky enough to have a mate who designs and sells t-shirts and have asked him to put forward a proposed design for a 300.zx.co.uk t-shirt for Japfest. But i need help with a suitable picture, preferably a front on pic of a zed, taken from a standing position to get the curves of the bonnet and arches in. Preferably a picture of a white, silver or yellow zed so its got more detail in the final pic. Anybody have one?

Hey Guys, Having a problem with my Ariel, seems to have a mind of it's own! Up and down as it pleases. Anybody know what colour of wire it is that i connect to my head unit to send the signal to the ariel to go up when the head unit is on? Cheers Paul

Hi again :) Just a quick question on the seatbelts in a jap import... Are they *supposed* to slacked off slightly while the engine is running? Both the driver and passanger seatbelts dont *pull* slightly while the engine is running in my car. They will retract, but slowly and with less force than say the belts in a Ford. When the engine is turned off tho, the belts tighten up again like normal. I'm not sure if its a design feature or some problem, but its a tad disconcerting! (if its by design, is there a wire that can be disconnected etc to stop it?) once again, thanks in advance for any help!

Hi All Don’t suppose any of you guys know where I can get my hands on a 99/00 Type R Z? Searched the net many of times and contacted lots of Importers but No joy! In fact I’ve never even seen one. I’ve got a sweet 91 TT which I’ve had for years now, was the car I always wanted! Just want one a bit newer now. ‘W’ reg would be nice!!! Test Drove a new 350 but wasn’t impressed to be honest, and there ain’t nothing else I really fancy. Do I really have to go to Japan and steel one? Any Idea of what one of these illusive breeds would cost? Thanks, Andy

Evening All Just a quickie, where is the best place to plumb in the boost signal line for my Profec B? Preferably on the left side somewhere as that's where it's going through the bulkhead. Also, is it ok to 'T' off this hose inside the car for a boost gauge? I figured a leak anywhere in these lines would be bad news as far as controlling the boost goes, so I want to keep the number of junctions to a minimum in the pipes. Is this good 'boost housekeeping'? :)

Anyone used one of these - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=10402&item=4520690270&rd=1 My Zed is still restricted and TBH I have no intention of de-restricting it, so am I right in thinking that one of these dials would do the job for me?? If so how easy would it be to change the dial??

Bit of a long story this one... Was driving along and had a major overheating problem along with the battery light coming on, figured it was a nackered water pump and possibly thrown the alternator/waterpump belt. Replaced the pump and all the belts but when I was doing this I noticed that I was missing the woodruff key on the crank/underdrive pulley and the the pulley had come loose. There was also a chunk taken out of the crank at the side of the slot where they key fits in. I put everything back together as it should be and it all seemed fine, for about five minutes :( exactly the same problem again, the pulley had broken loose from the crank. :headvsw…

Hi all. This is my first post, just wanted to say it's great finding a forum which is about the 300ZX!:) Right. I've managed to get a few quotes on a 300ZX twin turbo. They're expensive quotes, but I'd imagine it's worth it. I'd like to know your thoughts on the car, what you think of it, e.t.c. Also, is there anything to look out for when buying one? The time for me to buy one will be in June, and so far I've seen what look like immaculate examples with low mileage (imports I would imagine), on 1990, 1991 plates, for about £5000. Are these good buys? Or is it worth saving up a bit more? Any other advice would be great!:) Thanks guys Chr…

I have had a rather dead zed for the past week, wouldn't fire but was turning over o.k. I found out this evening that there was a fuse/relay (not sure which) blown in the small box under the bonnet on the drivers side (has about 6 fuses in it), which controlled the fuel pump. No fuel pump - no fuel - no car start, at last! I swapped out one of the other fuses from the same box (the one for the electric seat as it was the same rating) and the car started - then promptly died. The fuse I had put into the fuel pump socket had also blown now. So now I know why the car wouldn't start, but does anyone have any idea where I start looking for the caus…

Ok, i've pretty much finished putting all the bits and bobs back on my car now, new water pump seems to work fine, but a bit of a prob with the fan.. at revs more than about 1500-2000 the fan seems to wobble, under a spot light its clearly visible, the blades seem to flex and then rub on the alternator belt!!! not good! any ideas? I have made sure all the bolts on the fan clutch and the waterpump pulley are nice and tight, but still no joy, im stuck!! Thanks in advance Dave

I don't drive my Zed often these days (weekend car) and I'm on my third battery in as many years! Just wondered what the possible causes of battery discharge may be. If I jump start and drive the car, it will happily charge the battery and subequently starts ok. After a day or so in the garage however, it's flat again :( Car has a recently fitted Toad i606 Alarm and average ICE setup. Is there anything I can test for/eliminate from the possible suspects? CheerZ Steve :)

Guys Just wondering if anyone can help with the following: - when car is sat at idle, it goes in a cycle. Every 10 secs or so the revs dip slightly, the dashboard lights get a little brighter momentarily and there is a relay/motor type click/whir from the drivers door. The revs then pick up again for the next 10 secs. Not investigated the click/whir yet, but just wondered if anyone had any ideas. - got an aftermarket steering wheel fitted, and been having the hicas problem (drive for 5 mins, hicas light comes on and steering goes heavy until ignition off) ever since. Invested in a Conzult (thanks Danny). The steering angle was reading 430 or something …

am going to remove standard fan soon and replace with electric. Question: Does anyone know the best water temperture the car should be running? ie: so i can set electric fan sensor to try and hold the right temperture, and if needed change thermostat to 62c instead of 76.5c, looked at service manual but doesn't say what running temp should be. If standard stat opens at 76.5c running temp would be 76.5 or just over? Any advice much appreciated
