Guys just trying to setup the "failsafe" part of my AEM gauges. I have taken a photo of the instructions that came with the gauge, see below. This is on a "normal closed) relay. The low side (ground output from the Widebands Failsafe can be used to turn ON a NC (normally closed) relay and interrupt the output signal from a boost controller to its boost solenoid (shown below.) NOTE be sure that pulling power from the boost controller will decrease boost down to the waste gate spring pressure rather than increase boost to the turbochargers max. This will depend on what type of waste gate is used and how it is plumbed with the vacuum hose. I then cam across the follow…

I know Noz is real good with this kinda stuff but I have a ecu chip which is soldered into the ecu with two wires... However it doesn't have a name on it and I feel this could be a cheap chip. also feeling that this could be the culprit of my bad idle (earlier called a misfire). Is it safe to test this by cutting these two wires to cut out the chip? Thankyou

Hi Noel, you mapped my zed a year or so ago when it was an auto, im having it converted to manual soon and wondered if it needs mapping again or if its safe to drive under the existing map. im guessing as its only a change of gear wether thats done by me or a computer souldnt matter but just checking in case? Also read a thread on here that you run without recircs or bov's, is this safe on stock turbos 17psi, as im considering this myself to eliminate goosehonk and i dont mind the pigeon flutter noise instead. ? Thanks Jon

  10. Hi all, I have a number of parcels to send small and large, Does anyone recommend a good company that actually turn up when booked and don't destroy the goods being posted. Used to use parcel force and paisley freight but was constantly being let down. Thanks Dan

Just installed the braided clutch line from master cylinder to slave and I'm trying to bleed it. 2 man job, clear tube on bleed nipple on slave cylinder, pumping pedal and opening bleed then closing and releasing pedal and repeating. Still seem to be getting air and the fork isn't moving much with the pedal pressed am I missing something?

Yeah as the title states. Another possible problem.. The bottom end of the engine has become quite loud. You can hear something ticking buts it's louder than just a ticking noise there is plenty of 10w 50 fully synth oil in it. Only just changed spark plugs, oil filter, oil, fuel filter. The noise just came on as I was driving.... any ideas?

Hi all, Who else can supply after market chips for the Z? I know DTA used to but I know he isn't trading anymore and don't want to buy off eBay. Ideally want one asap. Thanks Dan

  18. Has anyone personally imported a 300zx themselves, I have my eye on one at a dealership however the importers close to me seem to want a bit too much to bring it in, the car is 330,000 yen roughly 1800 quid and im looking at £4k in charges.

Got a call from my brother yesterday telling me he heard of a chap selling a TT engine, he told me he'd passed on my phone no., so i got a call from him today, we had a chat and a haggle, (i've been assured that the engine is running sweet with no smoke etc). Managed to get him to throw in a set of UK clocks, manual gear knob and the engine for €650:rockon: Just have to find €650:blush:

  23. Had my boost gauge plumbed in for a while but the sparky keeps letting me down. So In thought may as well hae a go at wiring up the gauge for illumination myself, can't be that hard LOL. I've been told to open the cruise control pod and attach the wires then, but I'm not sure where to, can anyway that has a 1993 Jap TT tell me which wires to use? I have attached a pic of the area I'm planning to use, just need to figure out which plug then which wires. Cheers.

  25. Started by bird,

Been trying to sort my boost controller lately but when doing so, I noticed the vac/boost piping that goes to the controller is 6mm but the piping that goes to the external wastegates is 8mm. So there's a reducer/expander in there. I'm just wondering if this matters at all or if it's too small to make much difference.
