General Discussions - 300ZX Related

Seems to be one thing after another at the moment my problem now is lifter rattle. Sounds to me like the drivers rear lifter is tapping pretty loud it started when I drive her to Liverpool earlier this week . So I've got back and done a flush and oil change but it's made no difference so I may do another flush as the oil was manky. Can someone confirm the oil as I'm using 5w30 Mobil super 3000. Also any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

After talking to Mondo yesterday, we were discussing the 'aged' looking calipers (GTR R33 brembos). Anyway, I wondered what colours people think would look good. Kind of think black might be a bit boring even though it's a black car. Let me know what ya's think

Hi all, Is there a D.I.Y way to check and get the camber adjust right or as close as possible on the car before a long journey home? The height of the car as well as the width of the tyres have been changed. I'm sure the rear camber of the wheel's have been changed also. Thanks Dan

I have a JDM Fairlady Twin Turbo and will be swapping the original speedo etc. for a UK spec unit. My car has only done 62k and most of the UK spec clocks I have seen have many more miles on the odometer....my question is...is it possible to...(and if so how) adjust the odometer on the clock set to reflect the true mileage of the car? Hey guys, got a unusual question here, I recently purchased a used Z32 clock from japan and I noticed in the photos on the auction site that the clock has a bluish digit colour display; After a little bit of research I read a quote on the aus300zx forums by a member who stated that the later model Z32's got the indiglo/green/blue colour clocks just like the Nissan Maxima's did but no physical proof has been posted up proving this. Hey guys just a quick one to say I received a aftermarket maf sensor as mine is going. Bought for 60 quid and all I can say is its pants... idles from 1500 to 300 almost cutting out. Also it caused the fuel pressure to change from 2.5 bar to 3 bar randomly. Sensing back straight away, I know a lot of people know not to use them but for people who were thinking maybe... I wouldn't again. Get proper parts :)

Hi all, I'm having the seats I bought installed on to the original electric runners. This was previously done on my other zed that worked. Since the seats have been fitted to the new Z they are not working! Is there a link wire to be added since the other 2 motors are now missing or anything else we need to do? Thanks Dan

Hi all, Got another issue with the Zed. I picked it up from Lee's on Sat, ran like a dream all the way home. However, after leaving it over night in the rain (as I have no garage), I went for a drive on Sunday (nice weather). I got 2 miles down the road and it started revving erratically and then just cut out completey and would not restart. I had to get the breakdown people out. After spraying a bit of quick start we finally got it going again and he was following me home. It cut out again about half way back and again wouldn't start for about a further 45 mins. Got it going again and it was just revving eratically and changing gears with very high revs. …

As the title what do you guys recommend, currently I have the hks mushroom filter which so far hasn't given me any wet weather issues, but I want to change it. Don't see many apexi induction kits for the zed these days so need ideas but not a cheap eBay kit

not sure if anybody has changed or modified theirs, but it seems these are no longer available from nissan, my car has failed the mot on a number plate light not working, and on inspection today one of the terminals inside the light has broken off. anybody else had to change them for a different type? i really want to keep to stock looking, maybe a LED version. my car is jap import if it makes a difference

Picked my Zed up yesterday after 3 weeks with Lee. Just wanted to say a massive thanks for all the work he and his team put into getting it running the way it should. She now drives like a dream and has a lot more umph about her:thumbup1: After only owning it for about 3 or 4 weeks before I dropped it off I was really unaware just how good a Zed is as mine was running horribly! The timing was way out, there was a very nasty oil leak and the previous owner had done many botch up jobs on the wiring front. Lee also threw in a couple of extras to make it look better too! Hoping some one has a na subframe and a can take a quick look for me. The question I have is about the bolt holes for the rear track rods (hicas on TT). Are they elongated like an oval or slot or are they round? just trying to inderstand if my recent combination of drifting and a kerb has damage the frame. Thanks!
