So the zed is still off road. Still smokes on deceleration when warm only. No smoke on startup or when engine is cold, only starts smoking after 5-10mins of running. Things done: Whole new PCV system. OEM pcv valves and new silicone hoses from zcentre. I did swap restrictors on to the new hoses. Compression test and leakdown test was done with very good results. Changed oil to 10w40 semi synthetic. Checked the turbos both sides, no sign on oil and no side movement on the shaft at all just a slight in and out movement but i believe that is normal. all intake hoses checked. No sign of oil in hoses higher. Slight amount of oil down near the intercooler whic…

What are people's opinions on what will happen value wise with the 300. I'm considering selling my h plate tt manual 66k miles very tidy car I'd guess it's worth 4k tops. I have a garage to keep it in and I teach mechanics (was mechanic 15 years ) so I wondered if I'd be better keeping it dry stored take it for odd run etc or selling on. I don't have a clue if values have peaked and this is all they'll ever really be worth or if a steep climb in the future may occur thanks

As titled, I need some help. Just purchased my first zed today, and she's apparently running in safety mode (only 6 or 7 psi boost). I'm in the medway and swale area. Anyone close by that can help me? Would be massively appreciated!

I have been having loads of trouble getting these to fit right even though these have come off a breaker which I would have thought have been fettled with, this is probably the biggest reason the cars not roadworthy because I keep putting the job off because I'm getting no-where, I would have gone back to original but I practically gave them away I have searched and found out they are quite expensive now. :( Anyway can fibreglass distort over time? (these have been a pig to store so it wouldn't surprise me) Or any tips :D

I have been meaning to ask this for some years but am a lazy git. My S6 still has its (gold faced) km/h clocks. No-one made mph faces that matched when I bought her from Sudesh in 2011 so I did a bit of research and didn't bother. On my first Z, I just changed dial faces and it was fine. On a 2nd Z, I fitted a km/h > mph converter but something didn't feel quite right in the power steering. I did a bit of research and came to the conclusion that no-one I asked knew exactly where the clocks and ECU picked up the speed of the vehicle from and what the 9/5 pulse conversion done by the converter would actually do - would it correct all systems or leave the clocks rea…

Hi, I'm renovating my targa's and rails over each side of my Zed (if you get what I mean), plus I'm painting the car soon, so really they had to come off anyway. Can anyone tell me where / if I can get replacements for these - They're pretty much all split. If I have to I could possible glue them. Replacement screws would be good too, as most had rotted away. Also, I'm sure I saw a guide to renovating the rails about a year back, can anyone point me to this? Cheers!

Hey guys, Can anyone confirm how many nipples are on each accordion pipe please? According to the Z32 wiki there should be two on one side and one on the other. https://z32.wikispaces.com/file/view/TT_Vac_BoostController.png I can find one on the drivers side and that's it.......

Hi, Did anyone email me with the subject line "300zx"? Had a very weird experience of receiving an email to my nick@delazo.com account with the subject 300zx then when i went back to the inbox it had disappeared again(!) Pretty sure I saw the name Rob Smith but i may be imagining it? I work in IT and even I can't work out where the hell it's gone  Cheers, Nick

My wife has decided she cant live without a 300zx in her life. Her Ford Fiesta has failed its MOT because of rust and she now thinks its time to upgrade. I feel that a NA model would be best as she has been used to a 1.3 4 banger, so its quite a step up to a V6, let alone a TT. She hasnt got much money and after search the net ive come up with 2 that are within her budget (including repairs) but i need some advice: 1) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/161738586857?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT How hard is it to change a clutch yourself? I've been quoted £300-400 for a clutch change. Is the paint on the bonnet easy to touch up? 2) http:…

Hi, I'm new here and new to owning a zed.. I have just bought what I have been told is tomonator 1990 300zx tt. Got it home tonight and been going over her. Found some issues. The first being the boost gauge on the dash isn't reading anything. Just sits in the centre on the 0 line. Next I switch on the headlights to find firstly that the dash doesn't light up, secondly that the sidelights come on (round ones) but not the headlights themselves (rectangle ones) now I do eat my carrots but i can see this being a little dim at night. Has anyone any idea what this could be. Forgot to mention that the rectangle lights work when put on main beam but not dipped. Also, u…

Just replaced my below ohm spec injectors today and it's still misfiring and idling horribly. Replaced the sparks, cleaned tps, maf and injector plugs, checked for vacuum leaks etc all seems fine. Running a power balance test almost stalls the car it only just hangs on in there, the only thing I can spot that's maybe not right is the lhs o2 sensor voltage, it's higher than the right. Any ideas?
