Hello everyone, So I bought some "new" volk f-zero wheels recently and can't wait to get them on. They are 17 x 9 et 45 on the front, and 17 x 10 et 48. I had a quick look against stock and thought yeah that will be fine, before noticing the HICAS!! :( So I have worked out that on the rears I will be 6mm wider on the outside (fine), but on the inside I will be 32mm wider!! Oops. Obviously this won't work with HICAS and will hit the linkage. So what are the options?... I have 15mm hubcentric spacers, which will reduce it to 17mm wider on the inside, but will this still be too close? I can't tell at the moment as I don't know the sizes of the wheels on it cur…

Right guys and girls, some of you may be aware that a few of us were invited by Nissan to a private track based event hosted by Nissan at Donnington Park on Sat just gone. The event saw some of us on static display and some kind souls offering to give hot laps round a track to the Nissan employees in their cars. Now Chris kindly offered this and bearing in mind he did this entirely out of his own good will, no payment was received. Unfortunately Chris's day did not go too well and to cut a long story short his car ended up with significant rear quarter damage. I have to say I am gutted for Chris and he took it very well on the day but having had some time to think…

Noticed this leaking not badly burritos dripping on the down pipe It's not the best picture. But the best I could get with my phone What is it in it. It looks like it's dripping from the connector might just need tightening. It's on the passenger side hose goes in the back of the fire wall. The other side runs along the passenger side of the engine. Thinking it's coolant but can't be sure.

I've a pair of these blanks, but having had one cut, it seems that the rubber stops it from being inserted far enough. Has anyone had any luck with this key? (I found one Australian post mentioned it - http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/showthread.php?t=322931) And what code is on the original (if any)?

i purchased myself a 52mm boost guage to go in a pod. nothing wrong with the cluster one but as its a jdm car its got the dodgy hhmgk blar blar blar reading. i thought i would prefer to understand my cars boost reading in english (bar) i did do a conversion guide to psi and found that the normal boost pressure 9.5psi according to the cluster pressure i teed in the new boost gauge to the balance rail nipple that goes to the stock boost solenoid. this was advised reading what other people have done. i am getting a max reading of 0.25 bar (3.62595psi) but the standard cluster reading is sits above 500 mmhg (9.6psi) so am i only getting boost reading from one…

Here goes... The car has been sitting in the garage for a year. Just had the engine and transport out. Replaced the actuators with ones that I can change the spring on. Currently 3.75psi spring. Also changed the oem engine mount with some ams engine mounts for more engine space and because of the actuators. Engine and trans back in. Fired it up and idles fine at first start. The problem begins at the first test run. With the avcr of I get about 0.1 bar boost. I am able to get 0.3-0.4 bar with avcr on. That seems to be max. The other thing is that when driving I get a really bad vibration/rumble. It's worst in fifth gear. Feels like less vibration/rumble…

Getting thru the whole day and three separate tests as well as the drive to the event is now pushing me to my limits so I wondered if anyone attending could provide a little help.?? No mechanical knowledge or physical prowess needed. So ladies youngsters or blokes Im planning on getting my 5 attempts at the handling done first in the morning. Each time a car runs they put a little timeslip in a box at the entrance. If someone comes to watch me take part (and other cars too) it would be of huge help if they could get my time slip and bring it to me in my car as I queue up to go again. This saves parking unbelting and getting out to do it myself while potentially lo…

Lots of chit chat about the event on Noels thread... and plenty non relevant chat too. Lets hope we get a decent turnout. Its a great event to watch but maybe not for everyone to take part. Ian Greenfield has arranged for a priveleged 300ZX club parking area also.:thumbup1: Spectators need to liase with Ian to ensure entry to the club stand. This thread is for those competing who have confirmed(paid) entries. Today was the last official day for entries but with 48 places remaining tonite for the main competitive Sunday event Im sure they will carry on accepting entries. So........ 1. Slick Pete. (main goal is not to be last in RWD clas…

Slowly working through all the little things on the car. The passenger side central looking doesn't work, doesn't lock or unlock, drivers side is fine but when trying to lock the alarm just keeps beeping. Fed a live to the wire in the solenoid and it seems to move any ideas? Maybe the feed from the car or can I try to wire it into the drivers side wire ?

Hey guys, Quick one as all the googling on earth hasn't helped me with this so far. I am having some new wheels, coilovers, and brakes fit on weds, and have bought some spacers to prevent rubbing. But I am wondering whether i will need to get some extended bolts for 16mm spacers? Here is the link.. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/361035230325?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&var=630370844425&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Any help appreciated!

Hiya, I am new to the forum. I have just bought my first Z which needs a bit of bodywork and other bits doing. It's a 1991 fairway in the darker grey metalic colour. Can anyone tell me what paint colour this is and where I might get some? Or is it a case of having to get paint made up? Thanks Oli

Today found me and Fran in a field at Donington with some, frankly, very tasty Zeds off this very forum! I was somewhat surprised when I was invited to display my little Shortie alongside the cars belonging to Joely P, FunkySi, Andrew G and Ian Greenfield! It was all part of some "open day" that Nissan put on for their employees. I confess to not knowing very much about it! But there were examples of pretty much every either sporty or outright quirky Nissan from the 70s forwards. Including more Qubes than I thought they'd actually produced! Quite a proud moment for me to be asked to attend this, especially considering the cars I was sharing a stand with. But I c…

Hi chaps, Been having a issue with my 300zx and wondered if any one could offer any advice please.. The car is smoking and I have changed the PCV valves and it is still smoking and I have also cleaned all the breather system. I have checked the elbows coming of the turbos and the down pipes and there is no oil, the car is over fueling slightly after being chipped. It only seems to smoke when you have been driving the car and then stop at lights etc and then you get white smoke with a blue tinge.. if you keep the car at 1500 revs it doesn't smoke... any ideas? If I can't get it sorted soon I'm gona have to sell....

Ok, for no particular reason I checked my SORNed Zed, and yes, it's still recorded as SORNed surprisingly. Anyway, I checked the priced of tax for my Zed, and the site took me here - https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-tax-rate-tables/rates-for-cars-and-light-goods-vehicles-registered-before-1-march-2001 I just don't understand it! Maybe I'm being a moron, but if I understand correctly it £126.50 if I sign up for an annual Direct Debit? But up for a 6 month DD, then it's 25p more. Confused! Anyone else understand this?

Over winter I installed brand new camber arms and coilovers and I am having an issue with the near side rear being extremely noisy. Everytime the suspension travels the car/suspension creaks. I jacked it up last night and double checked everything was tight and equal on both sides, it was. Last night after I checked I drove about 15 miles and the rear was silent. Tonight though the creaking is back. I am guessing as the springs hadn't settled there was less stress? Apart from actually raising the back of the car should loosening the tension of the coil help?? Many thanks Dan

Been on with this a while now and here's where I'm at Bear in mind that I have changed the clutch on a different zed a few times and previously had new slave cylinder and master cylinder less thank 10k ago in a different zed. Bought a auto and want to turn into a manual Put pedal in and adjusted to the correct position The system was bled using the correct procedure including the nipple near the hicas, no luck soft pedal and slave only comes out a small amount 10/12 mm. Made a one piece line straight from master to slave and filled from bottom using oil can, no luck soft pedal and slave only comes out a small amount 10/12 mm as before with no real pressure on…
