Can anyone please clarify. The stock turbos have oil restrictors in place. From what I understand the drivers side is restricted in the oil sender block and the passenger side is restricted by the bolt which is marked K. Is this correct??

O.k, I brought my zed (the blue wide arch recently on ebay advertised as sticky lifter) a few months ago with a tappy engine. I've driven it 300 miles and still no improvement. However in this period, the engine has gone completely quite as it should be and power has resumed all be it not for long. This continues to occur and I need help in getting this engine working as it should. The timing is fine, have unplugged vtc connectors and still nothing. On removing the oil cap whilst the engine is noisey there is minimal oil in the head, when the noise clears up oil is splashing around as it should. All help would be grateful as I am really stuck right now and out of pocket!!…

Hi Guys, I am doing a boot install at the moment and have picked up a pair of JBL MS-10SD2 subwoofers, one for each side of the boot, sunken into the floor. http://www.amazon.com/MS-10SD2-power-handling-voice-coil-premium-subwoofer/dp/B007ABZ95I I can just about get the recommended airspace in the custom boxes, but I have spent a couple hours trying to work out what amp to pair them with and am still stumped! Any ideas what amp would be suitable and what type or wiring (bridged etc) would be suitable? I understand RMS vs Peak, but the numbers stop making sense once we start talking 2 x 2 ohms etc. haha. I Have read a few guides and charts but …

hi all.. so my 2nd trip to the MOT tester today and I still have the same problem, that problem is that the beam on my headlights kicks up to the middle of the road and not to the kerb side, I have tried the adjusters but one moves and the other headlight doesn't,( knackered cogs I presume) however even on the one that moves the beam still kicks up to the middle of the road so he has failed it again.. i'm at a complete loss on this one guys, I bought the car last year with a full mot so suppose I maybe got a picky tester but being fair to him I suppose if I got a tug from the old bill because of this then they'd want to know how it passed the MOT test. my car…

Every now and again, my starter motor will "grind" when I turn the key, instead of actually turning. There doesn't appear to be any particular pattern to it happening either. I think I remember reading somewhere that there's a relay for the starter circuit somewhere - do people think that could be at fault, or the starter itself on it's way out? Is this a known issue at all...?

So my odometer has worked a bit on and off since I bought my zed, then it stopped turning alltogether. I assumed it might have something to do with the mph to kmph conversion so I took the clocks apart and have removed the little device. It still didn't work so I took the odo out and found that part of the trip meter was broken and was jamming the mechanism. I have now essentially disconnected the trip meter by filing off the teeth which mesh with the mechanism. But the odo still doesn't work. I'm thinking maybe the motor has given up the ghost because it's been jammed up? Or maybe in removing the conversion I have missed something out..? Here's a pic of the ba…

Hi all, Finally got the zed on the road this weekend luckily we had great weather to go with the celebration. Drove in to London to try and get some nice pics but it was impossible with all the road works and closures. Managed to get a few sat night and Sunday day at a local car show. The car has had some great responses and comments so far! Was even called 90s old skool king by a group from East London which was quite funny at the time. A few pics from the weekend.

I am doing some work on the interior of my car and the one thing I want to sort out is the automatic gear lever. It is way too big so want to change it. I don't want to convert to manual as I quite like the auto now. Any suggestions ? Would prefer something small and slim without too much bling.

I've finally made some room on the drive for my new zed so can start fiddling with it now! I've got a double din stereo to fit so I've got to do something with the fog light switch, turbo timer and boost controller that sit underneath the stereo now. The timer will probably go, not sure where to put the controller yet but... With the rear fog light switch can I not wire it up to work off of the original front fog switch in the pod so the front and rears come on together? Is it an MOT requirement that they be operated separately? I can't think why I would ever want to turn them on individually.

I took the dogs for a good long walk around the village yesterday afternoon as we all needed to stretch our legs, and I was quite surprised to discover that I am not alone... Whilst on our travels, I came across (not literally, I might add! ) a silver 350Z about half a mile away, a ginger 350Z Roadster a little further along and, very surprisingly, a Z31 300ZX less than 5 minutes from my front door! Four different Z cars (including mine) within a 3 mile radius of each other! I don't think that's bad going for a sleepy little village like mine. I may give the Z31 owner a knock to see if I can have a nose around it. Not sure if it's on the road or a pro…

Has anyone bought one of these kits? cant see the big L shaped radiator hose in the picture, so maybe a generic picture...? Just needed the short top rad hose, after the original rubber one split. That's the second time now, so better go the whole hog and change the lot methinks... - - - Updated - - - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UK-Silicone-Radiator-TURBO-Hose-For-Nissan-300ZX-VG30DETT-Z32-1990-1999-Blue-/252047674594?hash=item3aaf364ce2 D'uh....

Should have my new brake callipers here by Wednesday and as I'm buying new braided hoses can the hoses plug directly into the standard aluminium callipers or do they still need that small piece of copper pipe ? Also what's the best kind of braided hoses recommended ?

Tomorrow is attempt one for dropping out the faulty transmission and trying to see how much i can get done in one day..... I have one week left of my holiday, kids off school and wife at work 3 days....... so tomorrow and Wednesday are the only days I will have to finish the swap...... Any advice on best way to do this with engine in the car, on driveway, up on my wheel blocks, laying on my back???? The torque converter dropped off when moving the new transmission, so I have…
