I want a engine start button but really dont want to have to put the key into the ignition to get it to work, Is there a way I could use a immobiliser ( the type with the fob type thingies ;) , i know what i mean) junk the ignition barrel and go for a engine start button to be pressed when the immobiliser fob is in?

Guys, noticed over the past week that im getting a rusty looking colour inside the tailpipes....nothing has changed on the car lately. Does this mean its running a bit rich and can this be damaging at all? Cheers, Dan.

Whats spose to hold the battery in on a jap TT? Had to fit a new one today and its a little sloppy as its a little smaller than the old one, that kinda just sat there ok. Its currently held in by string and foam packing....

I have nearly got my plenum removed from my zed but am I right that there is a mod for the water pipes or a kit to remove the coolant pipework from the plenium. Also I have corroded/broken injector plugs, can alternative plug kits be bought from RS or do they need to be sourced from the traders or Nissan (I have seen something on Courtesy Nissan, sold as 3 connectors). brace yourself for this one!.got a 91 jap tt thats devoloped an overnight fault since last thursdays down pour even though it wasnt driven.the cars tickover has dropped to 500rpm.when i start the car the battery and abs lights stay lit until i rev it then the battery light goes very dull and the abs light goes out but then the LIGHTS warning lamp comes on even with the lights off!the idle valve now doesnt respond to engine loads ie if i turn the heater or lights on the revs die.checked voltage across battery when the warning lamp was illuminated brightly.reads 12.5v :headvswal until the engine is revved then it jumps to around 14.5v.my first assumption was a short caus…

Does anyone here have the same problem as me? When i turn my lights on they come on no problem but after a while the pass side one goes off. If i turn them off again abd back on they are fine. Any help greatly appreciated . Thanks Steve.

Out of interest, how do you know if your car is fitted with the dim/dip control unit or the daytime light control unit? :confused: I imagine mine's fitted with neither being a '90 Jap but I wuz just wunderin... Mark

been noticing a burning smell when getting out of me Z recently so after a quick inspection in the engine bay noticed what looks like a small oil leak coming from the engine :( . Not very technical but can describe it as closest part of engine to battery. looks like some sort of gasket not sure, was just wondering if it is a common place to get a leak or if anyone else has experienced it. Does not seem to be loosing much engine oil thought. thanks for any help all. Evo

today ive taken the headlights out, to check the bulbs, because everytime i turn the lights on it just blows fuses. ive got full beam, indicators and breaklights but nout else. all the bulbs are fine. :headvswal any other ideas of what it might be? cheers jim

Can I just install this instead of having to change over the rest. I know it will mean that the odometer is still in KM but doesnt bother me. Just done a error test as the informeter said I have 2 error codes stored I got 2--1 and 1--2 Ignition sensor circuit Airflow meter The maf one was caused by me not connecting the Maf and starting it could the ignition one be caused by me fitting a grounding kit the other day as I have no running problems at all. Can I clear the codes in anyway so I can see if it was caused by me or actual faults? Cheers Guys

when i drive off turning (out of junctions for example), i get a knock that seems to be coming from the back end not sure where exactly but defo from the back. i know im in need of new shocks and the HICAS arms need replaceing, but its only just started making the knock sound. its just the one knock and then thats it until you set off again and only seems to be while turning. cheers si

just bought my first z a fairlady NA swb targa top :dance: an i cant figure out how to work the cruz control. ive pressed the switch on the side of the dash an pressed set on the steerin wheel an tryed resume etc but cant get it to hold the speed am i doin somthing wrong or does it just not work???? :headvswal
