Looking for a bit of advice from any stock J-Spec Auto TT owners here. As I've posted before, my speedo doesn't work (It's not the kph/mph converter, checked that - either the auto box sensor or the speedo itself, still to diagnose...) but I'm having to use my Zed at the moment as my Cavalier has decided to go all unreliable (jealous of the Zed I think). Unfortunately, my girlfriend was in a very bad car accident a couple of days ago and I'm travelling from Colchester to Ipswich hospital to see her as much as I can (she's lucky to be alive) but I obviously have no idea how fast I'm ever going on the A12... Could anyone advise me how fast 2500rpm is in 4th o…

Does the front shock dust cover (boot) attach to anything at the bottom of the shock, or does it just hang free (doesn't seem right?). Thanks, Matt.

Hi There are roadworks on the M1 between the Junction with the M25 and J10 or so. The speed limit is 40mph, but there are no speed cameras. Somebody said to me that they time you over a set distance and if you average is higher that 40mph then you get a ticket. I think I am getting my leg pulled, but with no cameras it does make me think. Any thoughts

I'm fitting some Tokico Illumina with some universal bumper stops and universal boots (Energy suspension stuff). OEM bumper stop is 45mm in length and included in the boot as you know. My universal and stronger polyurethane bumper stops are 30mm. Any risk ? Even with a 30mm bumper stop, the wheel cannot hit the wheel arch, I checked but I'm asking what could be the others effects. I change all the rubber parts for some polyurethane versions, including springs seats, bushings between the cup ....

FAO all traders. As you all know, we're still trying to finalise the Membership packs for distribution in the near future (ideally before the end of April). I know Mac has already posted about traders offering some form of welcome discount for new members and some of you have expressed an interest. Some have said that if everyone gets the pack, how do they know who's new and who's not. I would like to propose a more suitable method that should satisfy all our traders: Each trader design an A4 "flyer", get them printed and post to myself. I will then include the flyers in the Membership packs. If a trader would like to offer an initial discount and advertise it on th…

I'm taking my two front seats out today to take to be re-trimmed. I haven't even looked at how they come out yet, I expect it will all be pretty self explanitory, but where my Z is, I haven't got internet access so thought I'd ask if there was anything tricky about it before I started. Cheers.

I'm fitting adjustable camber arms all round to get rid of my tyre wear problems. What do you recommend I set things to considering I've got 18x10" wheels with 285 tyres, wide arch kit, Blitz lowered springs, Koni adjustable shocks and whiteline anti-roll bars. Should I just get it adjusted to the stock values or are they a bit conservative for my uprated beast? Oh, and what are the stock values?! :D

Anyone got a write-up/tips anti-roll bar installation and which setting should I go for as the front is adjustable? It looks like there's just 3 bolt holes to choose from on the end of the bar if that's the "adjustable" bit?! LOL What needs to come off to install?

Car failed mot on brake pipes (rear) today, i am going to have a go at fitting new pipework myself. Could anyone help with the size of the pipework and fittings?, as i have searched the manual and search facility on this site and cant find a size stated any were. Would rather start the job with the right pieces instead of cutting and going to find bits later. Cheers Cookie

Ryan at Ztech changed my heater matrix about 13 - 14 months ago. This morning as i drove off i noticed a trickle of water running into the passenger footwell, no discernable smell and the heater worked fine. However the screen would not de fog, no matter how hard i tried and as i was driving i noticed a little bit of steam coming from thefloor come to drive home tonight, let her warm up as usual for about 10 minutes, leaving work the trickle started again screen fogged up massively (we had a 20 minute thunder storm) and would not clear at all, no fun driving in the pissing rain, and having to keep wiping my windscreen so i could see out, heater blowing full on screen…
