Hi Folks, Put a new fuel filter on my J-Spec today and found a 4 inch piece of black tubing in the outlet of the old filter. It looked a bit like a straw but was thick enough not to bend easily, also one end was blown so that it would not go all the way into the filter. Anyone know what this is for, is it purely to restrict fuel flow or is it there for a reason. I changed the filter because when booting the car I kept getting a sudden loss of power under load (like you'd removed your foot from the accelerator), usually around 5000 rpm, in different gears (it's an auto). Ease up slightly and go for it again and I could get the car rocketing off again. I put …

Right I am looking into buying brakes (traders welcome to help here :) ) I am thinking about seeing if I can get hold of any brembo's for the fronts R33/R34, 350Z, Evo, Sti Scooby........ I know you need to get a bracket made up. I also know its an arse of a job to buy alloy wheels for our cars as the standard calipers are fat, how do brembo calipers compare in size thickness wise? I know you need to get a bracket made up. Would it be easier to buy wheels for? (next job) Whats the issue with interfering with the abs? do you get the vibrating pedal more frequently? warning light on dash etc...?? I have done a search but not really found anything concrete. C…

The car is chipped and I want to adjust the boost to around 0.9 - 1 bar. Only running 0.62bar now. Where do I adjust the boost. There is something at both sides of the engine that looks like it ment for adjustment of the boost. Tried turning it clock wise with my hand. No luck. Seems like it's turned down all the way... No problem turning it the other way though.

Fikin first time i have taken car out in the dark, pissing down and going straight on at a round about and a motor pulls out in front of me,lock up and miss by mm. She shouts at me "your indicators are on", got out and fick me they are. God know how the previous owner managed it. The lens is the old orange and clear type. I had my side lights on which in turn illuminated the larger orange part of the lens and then when i indicate the side light part flashes with an orange bulb. So god know if it`s a mod gone wrong or it use to have clears at the front, the front end is all original so i can`t see a accident replacement mistake. Surely they put it all back in the wrong pla…

I have managed to snap one of the (ridculously brittle plastic !) pipes (ringed) on this part when changing to silicone vacuum tubing. :headvswal Can someone tell me what it is - or even better let me know if they have one going spare ? I did a search on the number on it but didn't find anything. It is located on the drivers side (one of two). Any help appreciated... Cheers

Hello people, Hope you all are fine and having good times with your Zeds. I lost the head gasket on mine a couple of months ago.Managed to get it to the garage yesterday to get it fixed. The guy is charging me £1000 for the engine out work with the skimming tests and all.I just wanted to know is there anything else I need to keep in mind about and get checked out.I mean when the head gasket on a zed goes is there anything else that is damaged with it I might need to get the mechanic to have a look at.I'd appreciate any help and suggestions. thanks guys.

I've got something called a DEFA alarm. The alarm will turn itself on after 2-3 min. But I can't lock the doors with the alarm switch when the timer is running. Is there any way to get around this so it might be possible to lock the doors or both - turn on the alarm and lock the doors?

The car is currently in for new turbos and before they carry out any work they have run tests on the engine. They have reported back to me the oil pressure is too low and they are not going to carry out any work until either the problem is fixed or i sign a diclaimer saying if the engine blows once turbos are fitted they are not held responsable. This company is a turbo specialist and may not be interested in fixing the problem them selves even with supplied parts but i will check this on Monday. These are my oil pressure figures: IDLE FROM COLD: 12 PSI (SHOULD BE 15 PSI) @ 4000 RPM : 26 PSI (SHOULD BE 57 PSI) Keeping in mind the turbos have…
